@MtnMarty01 Trust me, the motor was broken in properly, after it was out of my hands, well that is another issue. 347 strokers are known to use oil. Look at the piston and ring setup and you can see why. That is why I said, if you are going to re-do it, build a 331 and put a mild cam in it if you do not like a "rough idle"
@apexmagnum p.s. My 332" has 10.95:1 compression, a solid cam with 250/260 duration @.050" and .650" lift. Dynamic Racing built the manually shifted C4 with a 5000 rpm converter. Heads are tweaked TFS track-heat, intake is a ported Victor Jr, topped by a jetted 750 Race Demon carb. MSD ignition limited to 9k revs. With the 3.10 rear gears and locker, the car smokes the 275/40ZR17s at 50 mph in 2nd gear. I've raced a GSXR 750 and it was dead even. I agree with you, build a 332" :)
@majorporpoise There really is no or very few aftermarkets available. I used some additions on mine just because I moved from all stock to raceing. I want to keep true to the original and not go to far. On the mustang II website there is some lists selling nos parts or you can find good used stuff on ebay motors. It gets real expensive quickly with shipping. Thats why ground up restorations can have 20,000 to 30,0000+ in materials and parts no labor in that amount. Start by finding the best car.
@FlairCreations This mustang is currently undergoing a complete ground up restoration by me. Apexmagnum had provided some great touches, but due to time and wear, it is in need of a lot work. I am bumping up the car to very nice show driver quality and will drag race on occasion. It will take over a year to complete. A new video will be made once done.
Shoulda Coulda Woulda. It took me a long time to put that spoiler on. Did not know if I liked it or not. I cut it down so it wasn't 3 feet in the air ! In the end I liked it better than the original 70's style spoiler. Don;t be a hater !
Have you raced it again with slicks? Id expect your II to run much better than high 13s with all the mods you've done. How is the street-ability with those 3.73 gears? I considered them but went with 3.55 in my II
@giddyupv8 I have not raced it with slicks yet since it is undergoing a full restoration. The motor has under gone a complete rebuild since the original either was not broke in properly or something else went bad it used oil when I bought it with only 1200 miles on motor. The new motors built and will have more HP. The street ability was great. I will need to do more testing on gearing and rpms at 65mph highway cruiseing for mpg, since it only gets about 10mpg.
@89Carfreak Sorry, I have to agree with apex magnum. I took the original spoiler into account it does look good on an original cobra II with a 148 HP 302. This is not a stock cobra II it is a bad ass drag, muscle car. It has race seats, harnesses, and a roll bar and it needs a drag race style fin. I will use the original cobra front spoiler. I will paint the rear spoiler white with black ends to bleng with the car. I did a mock up photo and I think it will look awesome.
@BravoII I actually grafted the center portion of the 74 to the 77. I did not swap the whole thing, otherwise the hood and radiator mount would all have to be changed.

OK, I'll ask. Why a mustang II? Where did you find one to build these days? I'm 40, and other than Carlisle I have not seen one in 25 years.

Nice to see a car I built running at the track. Too bad he is trying to re-do it. I guess he feels like he has to make it his own????????????/
