@yellowtruck2002 FORD but not the mustang, in fact it has never touched nascar tracks, ford has a winning team but the mustang doesnt have what it takes for nascar...yet...maybe in 2015, that when the mustang will enter I think, as for now dodge won some races in the new charger, which it hadnt in 40 years, chevy still dominates~jimmy johnson, cant argue that, one hell of a driver, But hell!!! @element0990 yes I am aware, they are driven in the COT car of tomorrow so I was mistaken, but the mustang however has no real history in nascar as it just entered in 2010, the 2011 mustangs are amazing machines no doubt, am sure they will make a name for themselves in Nascar quickly, but we are just going to have to wait and see, dont think I have anything against mustangs, bc I dont, am looking to buy an 06+ 4.6L, I do however favor challengers and charger, I own both, but to each his own.

@element0990 totally agree with you, I would have liked the charger a coupe not a sedan, but then again 2 muscle coupes would have caused competition inside dodge, so thats why they probably decided to go 4 doors for the charger, and 2 doors for the challenger, and yes same here am all for american muscle, but must say am not a fan of the camaro they stole it completely of its original shape too fancy. and once I get a hold of a mustang am planning to throw in a twin turbo, beast mode it haha.

@element0990 true that, I am 6'2" 215, so I need room, which the camaro doesnt supply, also the windshield supports block your view amazingly at all times which is kinda' dangerous. some people like the futuristic look it has, am all for old school fashion and power, many friends of mine drive camaros, I stic with my challenger, I ran an sts turbo, Trinity predator, ceramic headers, forged pistons and heads, throttle body, bigger pound injectors, octane 93, weight red. stage 2 from tag motors.

as far as it drowning the mustang out, not correct. the dodge is closer to the camcorder's microphone making it sound louder. the video were from the other side it would be the other way around. this is the only way the challenger could beat the mustang. besides, thats the best charger dodge has to offer. far better than any of the new ones. as for the mustang, that was just the basic v8, not the shelby, cobra, or mach 1.

yeah it may sound better, but i bet in a race the charger would get its ass kicked. mustangs never made it to nascar because they changed their rules and stuck to the lemans and several others where they handed dodge, plymouth, pontiac, and chevy their asses on numerous occassions. point blank, ford chose not to go into nascar with the mustang. a bunch of people driving around in a circle is pathetic, and its even more pathetic a 200mph. try beating ford in the formula 1 division.

the lowest hp a stock mustang had in the 60's was about 280 or so...and weak,a 68' gt500 had a 428 police intercepter big block that put out around 470 hp or so...

the hemi also required special parts to make these angled valves work properly since the valves werent lined next to each other like conventional heads.

and the ford 427 produced 425 hp and 480 ft/lb where as the dodge 426 hemi had 425 hp which actually only put 315 to the wheels on a dynomater and 490 ft/lb but at a tiny bit higher RPM so yes it is a tad torquier, but where are these huge number gaps from hemi vs non hemi of a 1 cubic inch difference?

ford had a 427 as well, the hemispherical combustion chambers are nothing to get psyched over like all the Mopar fans HEMI HEMI HEMI...i just laugh at that...there's a reason why ford didn't want to continue with the Hemi heads...nothing special compared to the conventional style combustion chambers...

Oh and Dodge is known for making the worst automatic transmission known in car history...yes the 440 magnum and 426 hemi were good motors but in 1964 ford's 427 *non hemispherical heads* was the same hp as dodges 426 hemi...

I got a forged crank 440 I am thinking about dropping into the hole.... its a very rust free challenger (for a challenger). my 71 mustang has a 429, my 72 torino has the factory 351C 4v cobra jet, and my 64 1/2 stang has a hipo 289 4 speed..... yeah I am a ford man, but, a closet mopar fan, - because I ALSO have a 68 r/t (correct clone) charger with the 440.... but who can afford to drive them? so my daily driver is the corvette.... 25-28 mpg...
