  • Some of the information is misleading. For example, the 2006 college graduate statistics. India and China have much larger populations than the US. It's only logical to assume that they would be higher.

A percent based comparison would have been more accurate.

  • wait did they say people watch twice as much tv as they play games i play games 8 times more then i watch tv

  • Who Do We thank For This World? Who Do We Thank For The Love We Have?

  • @Courteousness We do not thank anyone for love. We embrace it and the ones we share it with.

  • @wallpaperkilla So love is real? you just don't know who to thank for it? So what is love anyway?

  • Why Does Shit Happen?

  • we use to say thats bull shift all the time in computers class to piss off the teacher lol

  • 4:12 rite after 2006 it starts going RITE back d0wn lol

  • actually it's not very likely that a machine or computer will be smarter than a human being. Fact being that without humans, a machine would not exist. The human brain is much more complicated than a machine that simply saves data in a numeral code, that in reality humans placed into it. The humans created the code computers use, they figured out how to make a piece of plastic use electricity and obey commands. So calling the human brain inferior to a machine is just strange. That's my opinion^^

  • @bravewolfheart well i think it could happen but not this soon. if we where to program it to just make computer parts better it could run through list's and list's a lot faster then we can and then from there it turns into a cycle and soon it can do anything from just telling it how to make its self but try to make it better

  • dude, the music is cool and techy, but creepy, and scary-ish

  • Great presentation!

  • Technology has no limit, only the idea that created it.

  • we are living in exponential times alright....but what goes must come down.

  • @formerutuber exept when its exponential:P it will always get bigger just like the meals at mcdonalds:P

  • Did you know, that 20 years ago everyone thought we'd have flying cars and robots cleaning our houses?

  • @pogochese lol....yeah in back to the future 2 they went to 2015 and they had automated weather systems and microwavable pills that turned to meals. Wheres my f***ing hoverboard dammit?

  • The thing that concerns me most about this video is that the facts are presented in a way that does not distinguish wether the information is a pro or a con of globalization. It is like we have reached an era as a result of technology in which we no longer see morality when interpreting information. In this video, there is no emotion attached to a supercomputer exceeding human capability. It is just a fact.

Am I supposed to be startled, concerned, or just as ambivalent as this video?

  • @albinodruid it's your choice. It's better that way.

  • China has to speak english... how else will they get all their money back from America?

Best to know the language of the people you lend money to (good to know where they live too).

  • @mosspluse AP Human Geography, huh? Same here. XD

  • I watched this in AP Human Geography ...

man, I'm scared. Things are moving so fast that these videos that were made a year or two ago are already outdated. Like, Myspace? yeeaah..

Times are a-changin' :0! AND FAST.

  • Great video for opening eyes to change...Love it! Actually, it's already outdated lol. Nice music too.

  • I'm a freshman, and we watched this in AP Human Geography. I was told the class would open my eyes about the real world. This video already has. I'm being prepared for jobs that we don't even know about, and problems we didn't know exist. I bet everyone in that class is going to take it very seriously now.

  • Want to know how I leverage the internet part-time sharing all-natural "cellular" nutrition? 68% of America is overweight, 38% of them are obese. 1 in 3 Women and 1 in 2 American Men will get cancer. Health & Wellness matched by the power of the Internet will become a Trillion dollar industry and nutrition will pass the demand for pharmaceutical drugs just like it should! (866-510-2282) make this free six minute call & leave a message if you are interested!

  • Strongest education system !?

    Don't make me laugh...

  • this can all change. any day. why? because you cant predict the future! we make the present . you cant exactly say whats going to happen tomorrow . its impossible. statistics can help but they can change drastically.

  • Myspace? Old.

  • pong ftw!!

  • I don't think i'm gonne reach 250,000 e-mails at 21 .. i'm 15 now and i've send like 6 or 7

  • The soundtrack is awesome. It's so hauntingly human...digitally colored and hopeful. Anybody know what it's called or how to get a copy??

  • @MoonPoof Well he coppied alot of these from a series called Did You Know. But honestly, I like this guys version MUCH better!

  • 6:08 ok do it i wanna see you try

  • Does anyone know if this is a real piece of music, or a student made piece? I like it a lot and want to get it if I can

  • Did you know? 237 humans from earth watched this video with their pants off, for the ENTIRE duration.

  • I watched this in my lesson lol :)

  • @Britrocs49 me to omg!

  • 6:08 - 6:15

    This is no good

anyone ever see the movie I-ROBOT? Or TERMINATOR?

  • Ah, yeah... The fast paced "progress" and how we are all supposed to morph into unheard of creatures to meet its needs. At the end of the day, ANY DAY, what truly, really matters in life...never changes. It never has, it never will. But many will miss IT.

  • Its basically a remake of the original shift happens. With a few minor changes...

  • idk about that laptop project. i mean... do they really have electricity in these developing countries? let alone internet access?

idk maybe i'm envisioning countries where they still go to the town well to get water for the day.

i'm just gonna say that the people that REALLY need them, probably aren't getting them.

  • @cherrybomb921 These laptops use wind-up power, that should be obvious. And no they dont have internet but textbooks/software etc can be uploaded and homework completed digitally rather than using expensive resources and stationary. Think about it!

  • This video makes us, the teachers, feel more responsible about our students and the knowledge we give to them! It seems amazing to me that we are preparing our students for jobs and technologies that don't yet exist!

  • Definitely things are changing! Are we changing at the same pace? I mean, what we know is changing, what what about interpersonal skills and relationships between humans? Are we preparing our students to cope with this new world of "virtuality"?

  • Interesting statistic data, but they don't explain the uses for communication, nor the intentions/functions for socializing. Good & gentle musical comment

  • It's a very interesting statistic!

  • It's a very interesting statistic!

  • @br8d1, ok so your an ass 1st off, india's graduates cant come up with the car blah blah because they've already been invented, ergo your statement was redundant. 2nd, the 'desire to speak english' is because of western capitalism and globalisation- 100% speak english, how many languages do you speak I wonder? Fact is each one of those graduates trumps you on intelligence because your comments are just waaaay off haha. you've done your country proud son!

  • I speak three languages, actually. English, Vietnamese, and Spanish. I can communicate to a small extent in Thai, as well. "...country proud son!" Ok... dad. You should have seen that I was suggesting the 'equivalent' of the car bla bla bla, et cetera, but I give you points for trying. Trumps me on intelligence? Nice try, I feel like I am being judged by the retarded kid around the corner. I'm not some redneck from the woods, but rather I have lived abroad for many many years.

  • @freshfed racism is so ugly. anyway it's not my video so fuck off

  • Its not racist. Pointing out where innovation comes from is not racist. But thinking it is racist, is ignorance and stupidity.

  • @thgreenparty what? who said anything about racism? and whats with this comment?

  • You can graduate the whole of India, all the way to PhD, and they still will never come up with the car, airplane, electricity, computers... and on and on. They have had many thousands of years, and what to show for it? A strong desire to speak ENGLISH, what does that tell you?

  • @br8d1 That they're prolly owning our asses but we just dont know it cause they cant tell it in our dumb faces cause they dont speak english? imbecile.

  • @zovin I would accept they are owning YOUR ass, sure. Whatever you say. You really think there is a possibility that Indians/Asians have some new advanced technology, but they cant sell/share/disseminate it, because they cant speak English? Dumbest statement, ever. Perhaps your family immigrated to America to share your country's wealth of knowledge? None of us want to immigrate to your country, why? Most of all, I disagree with your use of the word "OUR", you aren't part of WE.

  • Three years ago I asked questions about genetics my biology teacher and she told me there's still no answers. now I'm in second year of Genetics and Cell Biology and I had the same questions, this time before me on a winter exam... therefore everyone has to educated constantly, especially teachers so they wont stay behind

  • CHS ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is such a powerful video, well i thought anyways. i was biting my nails the whole way through i was that nervous and amazed. i think that some of this stuff is so amazing its not funny, i think everyone should watch one of these videos!

  • isn't it weird how we predicted all this stuff would happen in 2010, and then all of a sudden... it's 2010, and nothing we predicted even happened? or it has, and we're like "whoa... we were right."

sometimes we get so used to waiting for the year things are going to change that when it finally gets here, we don't even know how to react.

    wow. it's 2010.

  • so the amount of technical information is doubling every 3 days now?

  • i thought it said 2 years @ 4:59

  • it said the amount of technical information when this video was made was doubling every two years. then it said "by 2010, it's predicted to double every 72 hours".

  • @gocanadayayyy The problem with the future is that it keeps turning into the present.

  • I MUST KNOW WHAT THAT TRACK IS CALLED its soo majestic.

  • yeah it's cool, i wanna know too

  • more shift needs to happen, these videos are all exactly the same but with different pictures.... every year

  • this isn't weighted for population

  • Well of course... I mean, humans never change at the raw level, do they?

  • Comment removed

  • Steling facts from did you know

  • its fake when they say that the computer will be smarter than the human brain...who do you think puts all the data in the computer? Humans do. Its not like the computers can put all this data magically them selfs

  • They'll eventually program something so they can think for themself. There's that little robot thing that learns things i think, forgot it's name but it's made by honda...

  • iv seen da honda thing i saw the demo funny thing was middle of the demo the robot fell trying to climb some stairs they had to cover/close the stage so they can pick it back up and put it back...their is no way a robot will ever think without some help from humans.

  • @parskahye911 kinda wish people like parskahye didnt exist. id put money down saying he never went to college.

  • im barley a freshman in high school long way before college so stfu

  • cool imagine 100 years :) but still spooky :0 this is the same video as before and it was a waste of fiifteen minute even though the video was eight minutes

  • nothing changed from this video from the one made in 2007. wasted my time thinking it would bemore up-to-date...nope

  • that was so cool i watched it in schoolit is so inspiering

  • Yeah I saw it in school too...very informative, definitely digging the track.
