I suppose it has to be a color like pink to distract the eye from seeing the tea itself. I believe green tea doesn't look so nice, as far as I can remember.
If it was for food or coffee I definately wouldn't make it pink - but I think for macha, pink is perfect. I think colours look beautiful together - pink bowl with green tea inside.
well done

Thanks for posting this. I like the method you used, half hand-building and half wheel-throwing. The pot turned out well.

I love those little wheels. Were they made of stone or something?

Hmmm, good question, I'm not sure what they're made of.

Pots are easier to make, try to make a tradional japanese bong!
(For those uncultured souls, a bong is a canabis smoking implement)

Nooooo ... it looks beautiful! Well, to me it does. I studied tea ceremony for 2 years so I guess I look at it differently.

I don't even know what tea ceremony is :) But the only point of view I have had is that of a dish washer, so that explains everything!

That was impressive, all until you decided to make it pink ;)

I'll send this video to my mom. She has been taking pottery classes so this might be another technique she could try. Thanks.
