Why though? The newer models are alot cheaper to make. 90 nm GPUs and CPUs are not onlly break alot easier but they are alot more expensive to produce.

dunno. Besides that, they haven't had many jasper returns that would then be repaired. Know what I mean?

All I can say is for the MANY times I have sent in consoles, I always get back the same board style. Once in awhile I'll get a falcon instead of a zephyr, but NEVER Jasper.

Falcons and Zephryrs are no longer in production so I can't see them as permanent replacements.

Maybe next year consoles that have failed will be replaced by Jasper/Valhalla models.

Also, what I meant to say was, it is cheaper to make a chip, but to make a whole new board to go with that chip would cost much more than sending a replacement/ repaired console.

not necessarily because Microsoft also puts on a new sticker for date of production if they give you a replacement console. this console is probably the same motherboard type console but with updated parts

No they wont take it off... they will give it back.... he only took it off because he probibly had a costom 1 witch they tell you 2 take off.There was 1 problem with my xbox when it came back is that on the face plate and top of they 360 is that it was all marked with black marks... witch i was pretty pissed off about.Oh yeah another thing is that it got the E68 error when i got it back.Luckily i can fix all red light now myself without takeing the 360 apart.just ask if you want to no any.

Not too sure. It is hard to tell on repaired consoles, because they do not replace the power specs label with a new one.
