  • what happend to sylvia.i havnt hurd from her for song. i for got about her.

  • OMG! I haven't heard this song since I was a little girl!

  • went to the Rambin Rose in Alvin Tx 1983 and saw her in person, and she was gorgeous :)

  • But i can love you like nobody can...even...wetter!!! i heard this sang by a drunk woman at a karaoke and i almost choke on my beer!!!

  • bring back country music like this!!!!!!

  • I and my husband met Sylvia back before we were married, she was the nicest "famous" person I ever met... Sadly as much as I love this song, it sort of ended up to being the theme of our married life...until I finally gave up and gave him an ultimatum...after nearly 13 years of being together between dating and marrying :( Still like the song though :)

  • GREAT SONG WHAT HAPPENED TO HER!!!!!!

  • But this wasn't a rock song this was a transitional Country song. It was mostly played on Country stations.

  • I think that most people misunderstand me when I say things like " I wish the INTERNET wasn't invented"Things that bothers me is the Internet has crept into every part of our lives, privacy is being removed. The Internet is in my TV & Refrigerator,Where dose it end? Yes the Internet is fun, helpful,&informational. Now we got it "wireless" we can a cup of coffee & the Internet 2 go,I have heard that they're tinkering with the idea 2 have the INTERNET wired into our brains.man pushes the limit : (

  • Remember this being played on the high school juke box back in the day. Used to parodie to "Your Snowbody"

  • The older I get the more I enjoy this great contry music.

  • I remember this song from the 90s,i love it <3

  • u no yall country still rules taylor swifts still awesum but i guess its like u no were all probly used to listening to older country i hated it wen i had to listen to it went rock-pop then back to country everyones cuttin down taylor swift shes freakin awesum i mean u gotta admit shes from a super little town right up the street from me shes busted her ass to get ware shes at and as a young girl shes drug n alcohol free u cant beat that she worked hard 4 wat shes got

  • wow does this one bring back memories or wat

  • I really hate the INTERNET,I mean I like you tube,face-book,e-mails, ect. ect. but I wish we could go back too the more the more simpler times...*sigh*

  • @thundermaster41 if it wasn't for the internet you couldn't watch this video.

  • @thundermaster41 I'm sorry you feel this way. I personally love it to be able to look up music like this... :)

  • Stop the damn commercials

    at the beginning of videos..

    It's aggravating..

  • im 22 yrs old an even though this is an 80's song i absolutely love it

  • @shy4k08 i'm with you. i'm only 26, but my favorite country was Earl Thomas Conley, Conway Twitty, Loretta Lynn, and let's not forget the one who has been my favorite singer since I was three years old, REBA McENTIRE!!!

  • 80's cheese

  • i does mess things up when nobody calls ROFL

  • soundz kind of cheesy and the lyrics are kind of dumb but she is great looking

  • This type of song/music is the reason country music made such a big splash in the 80's/90's. This is where rock & roll/pop should have gone. At the time, the rock music industry gurus wondered, "What happened? Where'd our audience go?" Duh. Don't get me wrong, this is not the epitome of good R&R, but it's a damn sight better than some of the crap that touts itself as the rock of today. At any rate, thanks for posting, fun trip down memory lane.

  • Awesome song

  • fuck, i almost turned this cos of the vevo ad

  • Great song because some of us can relate! However, I kicked the ass out! And his nobody dumped him shortly after that! YES!

  • I remember when this first came out. I liked it then and I still do today.

  • londa1027 they did not have cell phones back then if she wanted to talk to him she had to take a chance lol

  • wow, heard this for the first time in years....still remember the words

  • She wasnt too clever now was she? how dare the other woman call his home? god i love this song.

  • @Londa1027 Yeah now it's much easier for that other woman to call...with the cell phones we have today.

  • @magpieeye Not to mention Facebook and instant messaging... LOL

  • @Superbook4Eva Oh you're right! I almost forgot about that :p

  • なつかしす

  • And who do we have now? Taylor Swift and Rascal Flatts. sad What happened to country?

  • @MrBigrobmjca3 this isn't country but the quality of pop cheese was at its highest circa 1981. sad what happened to music.

  • @OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSONIC You do know this song charted #1 on the Country Billboards in 1982 right?

  • @TheJer1963 I think what he/she means is it's not "pure" country. In fact the synthesizers sound almost New Wave-ish at times. I think because of that RCA figured they could get a hit promoting it to Pop and Adult Contemporary stations as well, and they did.

  • @Superbook4Eva I see what you are saying. I think country really started to change at the end of the 70's. I myself liked country up until around the end of 96. It really went downhill after that. Can't listen to anykind of music made in the last 10 years at all.

  • @MrBigrobmjca3 Country radio lost touch with their fan base, especially since country radio stations seem to be disappearing once again. Like you, I'm wondering what happened to country radio and country music in general as most artists today all sound alike.

  • @MrBigrobmjca3 There will always be a place for pop-music-in-country-clothing, and Taylor, Flatts and Lady A are filling that void today - although I too prefer this song (maybe because Sylvia was never as overexposed as those other artists?). I consider this song more pure pop than country - especially with the synths, it fit in well with Laura Branigan and Olivia Newton-John on Top 40 radio playlists in fall 1982. Regardless of what you call it, it's fun and cleverly written.

  • @MrBigrobmjca3 what happened to country was that corporate radio decided they knew what country was and what they thought we wanted, from there it all went to hell!

  • @tmorris53 You got that right.

  • Debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 on 8/28/82 and spent 20 weeks on the chart, peaking at #15.

  • how old is this? 70's or 80's?

  • @TheKer56 I believe it was 1982.

  • im 19 almost 20 and i love music like this. I remember my mom always singing and dancing to this! I really love this song 10/10 !!

  • funny how counrty was trying to cross over to top 40 some tunes work like this tune .

  • memories of being about 10 years old, mom dancing in the kitchen this song

    80s rock

  • @cmac1002009 About the same for me, except I was about 12. :)

  • Even though I'm 18 I still love the older music

  • @CountryHotStuff me too :)

  • Ahhh the days when country music died. I grew up listening to this stuff on the radio and wondering why they were playing disco on the country station... Thank you very little Sylvia, Juice Newton, Mickey Gilley, Ronnie Milsap, Eddie Rabbit, etc etc.

    I miss Buck.

  • @eltatero This ain't disco. Are you kidding? This is COUNTRY. Play this next to a pop or rock song, and youll see what I mean. Country is not just that twangy sound or the western swing.

  • love this song

  • Wish new country was like this.

  • for some reason this song got into my head this morning. wow.. well probably because i had older teenaged siblings back then so i heard these songs even though i was completely mindless to any pop music back then.. i was probably 9 10 or 11. yrs old

  • I Love this song.(:

    It's amazing!

At first when I heard the beat I didn't think I'd like it that much, but then I listened to it and fell head over heels in love with it. Like this is you agree.

  • Years ago when Sylvia was young, her Dad contacted my cousin, who had a rock and roll band. He wanted her to try out with his band. This was in the Kokomo IN area circa late 70's maybe 1980. But what is so funny is my cousin told me he had a new girl singer...but she could not sing rock and roll. I have told him many times, why didn't he and the band change formats, and go with this girl who could sing country music?

  • This song popped into my head for the first time in years today . . . I literally wore this 45 out when I was a kid . . I think I was about 11. Thanx for posting.

  • I remember sitting in my room waiting for this song to come on the radio so I could record it, I did a dance to this song for the school talent show....What great memories this song brings back....My mom ended up buying me the tape because the radio always talked in the beginning of the song....Then I won tickets off the radio to go and see her at a show....GREAT memories.....!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I remember listening this to song as a little girl over and over again while my cousin and I jumped on the bed. Oh! To go back in time???

  • Isn't that how it always ends up,you always find out last , even your so called friends know before you do . What great friends we all have. It kinda makes you question who can you really trust,HUH? Trust your instincts, cause if your wrong then we could admit that, but chances are your probly right!!
