Your director led you in an outstanding interpretation of this work! Super job!! "Hymn to David" was the required district piece in my junior or senior year at Fairborn High (Ohio). John Ness Beck, who composed this hymn, actually came to our school in Nov '69 to guest-direct the combined Fairborn and Shawnee High Schools at an exchange concert, and we did this song. He was awesome!
As a college freshman in 1984, this was one of my first excursions into more than just four part choral singing. I discovered very quickly how much I loved it and this piece will always be one of my favorites. Thanks for the post.
