I've handled live Moles & seen quite a few above ground.

Nowt wrong with picking them up it doesn't harm them & they do squeek like a mouse.

They do run realy quickly.

How many only know about moles because the've seen about them on the telly or what the've been told by someone who actualy knows nothing.

To see them above ground is a privelage, to have them burrowing on your land is a curse..
