  • What is the name of the full LP? Is it on the RCA Victor or the RCA camden label?

  • @APyleOfVinyl RCA Victrola (I like this entire series even the Verdi:Aida and the Schumann 3rd. Symphony which are "Stereo Electronically reprocessed").

  • @YTM021807 I never thought that the series had such good sound quality! So, what is the title of the LP? "Toscanini Plays Your Favorites" "Toscanini Plays Light Classics" what is it?

  • The picture is of a turntable that I used many years ago:

Garrard Syncro Lab SL95B which was very famous.

It was NOT used to make this transfer.

  • @YTM021807 OH OKAY. What model did you use?

  • @APyleOfVinyl The problem was that the record was not clean.

  • You might want to check your record player's motor. It has a warble, and I know idler wheels, when in good shape, should not warble at all.

  • @APyleOfVinyl The problem was in the disc itself. The record player has no idler wheel mecanism. In spite of that the musical qualities come through. And that is amazing!

  • @YTM021807 Oh? Is it belt drive? What is wrong with the record? Is it warped? Tell me does the record have the shaded dog or the outlined dog on the label? :)

  • Great post! Love Toscanini's renditions! It is a bit more cheerful than most renditions. Usually the first dance sounds a bit downtrodden, but this version has a bit more spring to it! I hope to find a better quality copy of this LP and post it for you. Shame about the skips.

  • I am waiting for Sony/BMG to reissue the "Immortal Performances" series this time in state of the art sound. Until that time comes we must rely on the best possible home made transfers. This one is barely adequate. The genius of the Maestro, nevertheless, is much evident!

  • ..this is one collection I missed...the Szell versions are great, but I prefer Toscanini because he is freer, more effervescent and more joyful, if that is the word, than the tightly knit articulated Szell versions......

  • "Entusiasmo, sing" !!
