i think current connects to your ipod so your charged battery is not connecting to your ipod right.it is saying what it thinks is going on through the current from the battery to the ipod.

hey this happened to me too your led inside has bursted from the dryer and you battery is short circuited from the washer i suggest you buy a new one or get it fixed i just bought a new ipod instead

im not totally sure on ur situation but the nano batery is connected by three seperate wires and 1 or 2 wires might be indecating a charge and another could be disconnected, id buy a new battery $10...resoldering is required tho...im not responsible if ur shit messes up remember that

Has your computer got a USB 2.0 port? if it's lower than 2.0 it won't charge.

probably the battery is screwed up or you havent charged the battery enough and its using energy from your computer to show the screen

i think when you probably randomly disconnect your ipod away from your computer while still syncing or you droped it and the hard drive died

u might want to gently pop it open and without pulling it apart, on the end of the ipod will be a flat wire pluged in downward, unplug the battery and plug it back in. A good charger will help but if it goes black when right when you disconnect it then the battery is disconneted. you battery prob wont hold charge anyway so you might need to replace it

Ok if you watch the video called how to reset a broken ipod. I had the same problem and it worked. But my ipod is i think newer so it might not work on your ipod.

same thing happened to me... just wait over night while its in the computer...then iin the morning open itunes and click the "Restore" Button while your ipod is connected ...it worked for me

Sounds like your battery is fryed, you will have to open it up and resolder a new battery or get a new ipod nano.
