I raced a Maserati GranTurismo in a friend's G35(the Maserati was rich kid in his teens driving) and we were dead even to 60 and he pulled a bumper by 100 but was pulling by then. G35 is faster than 645 below 120, above that the v8 645 is faster, but can't catch up without hitting 155 speed limiter.
What!!! DTHPRF66, your smokin crack.. the germans reliability is horrible. The BMW can not even touch the quality of the G35/37. If you really want to compare apples to apples, lets look at the reliability between a 2007 G35 sedan vs a 2007 BMW 335 sedan in consumer reports. The BMW has more transmittion problems and mechanical problems just like mercedes benz. ..BMW can't touch Japanese reliability and quality. Who gives a shit about sex appeal when your sexy car is in the shop 24/7..
@wsteagall I have a 2004 BMW and I never had any major problems with it. It starts and drives every day. I also do all the maintenance on it and I tell you this, It is much easier to work on a BMW rather then on Nissan V6. In BMW's I6 everything is in order and would not fit to where it is not supposed to . you will never confuse anything in he engine. this is unbelievable how they designed it.
I love the g for the price. I have a 2005 and I like it better than most cars I test drove including the BMW 330ic. It has all the luxury and power I need. I would never drop more than 40 g's on a depreciating car even though I could if it were that important to me.
honestly, who cares about a race, the 645 has sex appeal...which, in alot of cases is a great thing! plus driving a German vehicle is by far one of the best solid rides made. handling, tight suspension, build quality, saftey, powerful yet efficient engines...list goes on and on.
