i do and have always had a bizzar typing style where i mostly use my index and middle fingers but i do also use the others sometimes... bassicly i move my index finger to the first letter then which ever finger is closest to the next letter presses it. iv tried learning to touch type but i just couldnt do it and although my way might not be the most effective way but i like it. i think it developed from me typing with one hand instead of two on my laptop.
Oh man I saw those new packets on Monday, they're so friggin cute aaaahhhh
I proudly type with all my fingers! I type about 70-90 words a minute, my friend tells me it looks creepy when I type really fast. (Although where I place my fingers is about one key off from the Home Keys they taught us in elem school.) I either get really bothered or amused when someone uses only two fingers or extremely slowly despite the fact that they use a computer on a daily basis.
Great vlog Stephen! I love Alex's sarcasm and humor, it's great. I use all of my fingers, I disregard the home keys because I never payed attention during typing classes.
I type only with my left hand, while my right hand rests at the ready on the mouse. It actually helped a lot when I started playing Minecraft. So comfortable for me haha.
I always typed with my left pinkey for capitalizing my right index finger and left middle finger for letters and my ring fingers for numbers. We had to take a typing class in school though and now I use every one of my fingers to type.
I took a typing class in high school, so I use all of my fingers now. Before I took it, I was like, "Nah... I don't need it. I type fast enough" But now I'm glad I took it. I can type without looking at the keyboard now, and I couldn't before, so it's nice.
I typed like that as a child, but now I use all my fingers. I'm not really sure when I got into the habit either. I don't always hit all the keys with the "correct" fingers, but I do for most of them. Also, I still have to look at the keyboard to not make too many mistakes. I know where the keys are it is just easier to actually hit the correct one if I'm looking.
I type index fingers. I have a few typing games but they're like....10 years old and only work on my windows 95 computer. But I really feel I have no need to learn how to type as long as I can get my work done.
I used to type with 2 fingers but, then I moved on to every finger thanks to a program called 'quicktype'. So if you need help to stop typing with 2 fingers try quicktype. I highly consider trying it. =3
I don't go to Chick-Fil-A that often, but I have the sudden urge to drop by just to get some of that ketchup.
I don't remember how many fingers I used, but I used to type with my own typing technique. That all changed when I took a keyboarding class in middle school. I never took the course in high school, but my school does offer it if you need a keyboarding credit for college or whatever.
my dad types with his 1 finger.... and just jabs at the keys one at a time until his word is out, if theres a mistake, he has to press backspace till he gets to the mistake and do it all over again
My parents enlisted me in a dactylo lesson when we got our first computer. So from the start I've learned to use all my fingers.
Which helped quite alot I guess.
tho it's prolly just practise makes perfect, cause a classmate of mine uses only his left index finger and his right index & middle finger, and he still types rather fast.
Those packets are a good idea. I hope other places start using them, I'd probably enjoy my fries a lot more if I could actually dip them instead of just shoving some in my mouth and squirting in a packet.
Anyway, my typing style is sort of a combination of the two: I use my entire left hand but only my right index finger, which is kind of weird considering I'm right-handed. Maybe it's because I use the mouse with my right hand, and so I subconsciously try not to use it as much on the keyboard.
Interesting that finger style typing came up. I've developed a rather peculiar natural style of typing... I've always looked at the keyboard (at this time I don't have to but I feel awkward if I don't). I learned proper typing in high school yet I refused to implement it into my comfort zone and now somehow... I type with the four fingers on my right hand in proper stance and with only three on the left in all the wrong areas without using the pinky.
A Dip &Squeezer no way!!!!! I used to do that but now I have this awkward type hand thing where my fingers will touch the keys but my left hand is raised in an almost maniacal sort of way but my right hand is slanted to a 65 degree angle I haven't mastered typing yet, I overall know where everything is but i still miss them from time to time I'd say I'm no Computer but I am at around 8.5/10-9.5/10
somewhere between that what would you consider yourself?

@rob0mad, I type the same way but I can for the most part type without looking at my hands. The faster I type the worse my accuracy gets.

I type with what ever finger is closest to the key. It works quite well but is closer to the correct way to type than typing with two fingers

@trevizo25 I'm not the fastest person on the keys (my average wpm is about 80), but I'd say my accuracy is pretty high.
