Oh, come on, people. They're young, who knows how long they've been singing, and it's a pretty common error (even from some much older singers I've heard!) to pronounce "te" as "tei" - not that it's right, but they weren't exactly saying "tea" either. On the up side, they both have lovely voices, great technique and breath control. Keep it up ladies! :)
@CharlieBladeRemus : Absolutely agree! it sounds really terrible and it is also pity, because both girls have beautiful voices! The bad pronunciation really ruins the sound:-(
@vettel92 i agree! it's a beautiful song, and they have nice voices but the pronunciation stinks! it sounds immature and distracts from their voices :/
aaww poor soprano for forgetting the words! good recovery though. mmnn vowels are a bit funn but prob just comes with accent, nothing worth bitching about. good job!
I agree with you that a lot of people on youtube enjoy putting others down with no or very littel reason to do it so; in the same token, if they put their video on a site like this, they should be open to all kinds of opinions and feedback. Otherwise, don't post it, or don't allow comments. Great job girls! both have beautiful voices!
Thank you. And I don't have any negative feedback to them! they are both very talented, very beautiful and pleasant voice. One of them made a little mistake at the begining but that does not diminish the fact that she has talent. We all make mistakes, even professional singers!
Emily dad a foible at the beginning. For those not familiar with the Laudamus Te duet for sopranos from the Vivaldi Gloria you wouldn't notice. Claire covered for her. They both have lovely voices. Would like to hear more from Claire. Got Emily's Du bist beir mir at the wedding and it was lovely. I liked the tempo, although most take it more largo.
One of my favorite pieces and these young ladies pull it off well. Great blend. Whoever your voice coach is, they are to be commended, too. This music will live forever because of people like you.
Well done! That's very impressive for girls your age and I'm sure you will go far if you continue singing. People can get really judgemental and out of line on here with their comments as if they were virtuosos themselves, it cracks me up. Your both doing great and don't let anyone tell you otherwise! =)
great! it's nice to see young people singing something other than brittany spears or rap..the only people that have the right to critique them are professional opera singers, and critique is different than insult
I'm assuming you must know them personally, I can't imagine anyone getting their dander up about a faceless stranger on the internet. I took it for granted they could sing, at least 4 comments beat me to the punch on that score. Point taken, next time I will list all the positive before the negative:-)
I've performed this many times, love this song but they didn't quite pull it off. This is so fast you lose the wonderful vocal gymnastics and weaving of the two voices that are so essential in this piece. The dark haired girl needs more breath control and a little expression from both would be nice. They look like wind up robots.
AuDioSLavE802, I would like to rewrite part of your Bio - aloof, quiet, sarcastic, mysterious and an INSENSITIVE JERK. What gives you the right to make such a comment about these girls when you are not even in the music profession. These girls are young and need positive encouragement not the kind of crap that you hand out. In the future when you feel the need to shit on someone from a great high turn on yourself you would be a far better candidate.
I may not be in the music profession but I'm a classically trained singer. Aside from classical, I've sung in jazz, alternative rock and funk bands. So as someone who has ALOT of performing experience I do feel qualified. I gave constructive criticism, I didn't just resort to name calling (like "jerk"). Telling someone they're good is not going to make them a better singer, correcting their breathing technique will.
My problem with your comments is that you didn't take into account the effect it might have on the girls. Critisism at that level is for their teachers to make, not you, after all they know their students, and what they can, and can't handle. Please remember any comments you make are not one to one, they are out there for the world to read. That is, after all, the reason you didn't like me calling you a jerk.
I didn't care that you called me a jerk. You name call but have problems with me critiqueing technique? I didn't say anything personal about them. If they didn't want comments they would have turned comments off or not posted. I think they have good voices, I commented on breathing and expression . You made a personal attack so get over yourself. They won't be scarred for life because they get told to smile and breathe!
As a singer I have nothing to learn from a vague "that was great." Which your average joe will say even if you're off key. I always listen carefully to other musicians/singers who offer comments like "try a slower tempo" or "go up a half step, that's not a good key for you." I know the red haired girl is an aspiring opera singer...if she's like other serious singers she's very interested in technique at this stage and not just "that sounded nice."

The vowels are too wide and bright. The word "Te" should be pronounced like "teh" and not "tee." Otherwise, good job

I have just been browsing for curiosity who are the people whe criticise you.
Are they great opera singers? I asked myself.
It's funny, the most stupid people are, the more they need to put others down.
I think most peole who criticise you, are not even worthy of touching the hem of your divine gowns my beautiful angel.

beatiful song
Beautiful girls
delightful singing
The only contructive critisism is to shut up.
Let their real teachers teach them
Bunch of pedantic people know alls.

aw... too bad they messed up the pronunciation of the name of the song.

constuctive critisism-it is pronounced "teh" not "tee" my choir director made us write an "h" on every "te"

I have to agree with Sierra. Their vowels need to be shaped differently. But they do have a good tone.
Darknight1989 3 years ago
Their vowels are messed up, latin vowels need to be very tall and round!
But good tone!
