Rodeos are not necessarily wrong, people have been doing it for years, however it depends on how the animals are treated, alot of people care deeply for the bulls and broncs so they are taken care of.

It all depends on the place. Most rodeo horses spend most of their time out in a herd in a field. They only get shifted over to rodeo work for a few months at a time.

Yeah, they are usually handled pretty rough, but you don't often see anything horribly abusive. Some horses actually like bucking people off. Others are there because people have given up on teaching them to do a normal sport like jumping/dressage/hunter. Others are bred to buck.

Wow really? Thats crazy weird, what rodeo did you go to? Rodeo horses very rarely die. The straps really don't hurt them though, if used properly. It shouldn't be any tighter than a girth strap, and it even has more padding. Its loose enough they think they can buck it off, if its too tight it restricts movement. But I dunno, thats your opinion. At least you have saw a rodeo for yourself, I give you that.

It is. See that strap, around their flank/near their hindquarters? Yup, that's a "Flnak Strap". And what the strap does, is when tightened it squeezes the horses abdomen where there are no ribs protecting it's inner organs, especially their testicles. This causes the animal agitation and pain, so no wonder it bucks.

But no, causing a horse pain for entertainment...thats not cruelty.

UGH, is the non-existent testicle justification. Bucking broncs are usually geldings for one, and the testicles are WAY in the back on a bull. If you have ever seen a flank strap rubbing the testicles of the animal at a rodeo than something is going horribly wrong.

all so i use to work for a contractor here in North QLD the Bulls and Horses at home most are very quiet and they all have to be feed , drenched and dipped so there handled a lot but they know when it's time to rodeo .you only show the bad stuff in most of these videos, I would think more horses get hurt in showjumping, cross country horse races now that IS CRUEL those jumps do not move.

Well, rodeo itself isn't cruel, some people involved are, but not many. Most of the bucking broncs are MARES! So the "tie a rope around your balls" thing isn't possible. They aren't treated cruely; they are treated better than the cowboys half the time. Most of the horses are saddle broke outside of rodeo, which is clearly depicting that they are not ABUSED. The rope is no different than you wearing a tight belt, just mild discomfort, no pain. Horses buck with any discomfort, even a burr.

That's a great vintage rodeo picture. It's of an event called the "Wild Horse Race". Where unbroken horses were saddled and riden either for a time linmit or until the horse crossed the finish line. AT the time this picture was taken and the area it is from there were still plenty of ranches and working cowboys around. A way of life fast disapearing.

a lot of rodeo horse are young and untrained and like to buck and rear. sometimes my horse will just take off running bucking until she has me off and just runns arounf neighing but shes only 5 years old. She just likes to run around bucking sometimes. So i don't see how the pictures in your video showed how bad a rodeo is.

i used to not mind rodeo's and then i rescued a mare that was a rodeo horse. she was so scared of people if you got within ten feet of her she would start shaking uncontrollably and then lay down like 'i give up please dont hurt me'. she was too scared to even run. she would just panic. she got sold to meat slaughter because she would pass out from fear. she just overloaded on panic and passed out if you got within ten feet of her.

Um if you knew anything about rodeos, you would know that those animals are treated better than most horses. And if the horses didn't want to buck they wouldn't, I have seen horses come out of the shoot and just stand there. Also if you bother to do research, most bucking straps are lined or covered with fleece or soft material.
