  • I know its an old camera but can u do a review of the d2x and compare to the d2xs please?

  • Do you go to the portrait session dressed like this?

  • @Ikkokanal It depends on the portrait session.

  • @Ikkokanal I use Alien Bees B800's most often, but I also use Linco Flora continuous lights on other shoots.

  • hi sexy ;) just quick question, which studio lights u could recommend ? which one u use in your studio?

  • I ALSO WAS WONDERING IF YOU HAD ANY ADVICE TO SHOOTING PORTRAITS OUTSIDE AND THE EQUIPMENT I SHOULD USE I DO HAVE A NIKON 35MM 1.8 PRIME LENS AND A NEW NIKON SB900 SPEEDLIGHT ALSO A NIKON SB600 AND USE POCKET WIZARD TT1 &TT5 AND ALSO AC3 ZONE CONTROLLER TO CONTROLLED MY SPEEDLGHTS OFF MY CAMERA WOULD YOU SUGGESTED ANY OTHER EQUIPMENT I NEED TO LOOK INTO GETTING FOR BREATH TAKING PORTRAITS

  • @photobyjewell1987 Please go easy on the capitals — they're hard to read. It's not really about the gear. Outdoor flash is a "special effect" you may not want if you don't know what you're doing. Take the time to look at the light that's already there and the way it plays on your subject. Pat attention to the highlights and shadows. Get a reflector (collapsibles are good, but a fomecore board is cheaper to start with) and see what adding light does. Take pictures. THEN think about flash.

  • @photobyjewell1987 "pat attention"???? I could have sworn I typed it properly... I'm getting too old. I meant "pay attention", of course.

  • I ALSO WAS WONDERING IF YOU USE SOFTBOXES OR 8 IN 1 UMBRELLA SET ON YOUR SHOOTS FROM PORTRAITS TO WEDDINGS YOU SHOOT

  • THANKS FOR THE REPLY WHATS YOUR DREAM EQUIPMENT YOU WILL LOVE TO SHOOT WITH

  • thanks for the video and showing me what you use on your shoots thanks again one question your strobes which one do you have and what are your thoughts about your strobes and the quality of shoots and the light they give you any thoughts thanks again for the video from jewell Bunch III

  • @photobyjewell1987 Very happy with my Alien Bees B800's for strobes and Linco Flora lights for continuous lighting

  • I am also fully charged..

  • sh*t a new genre has been created, a lil off infotainment; Its like the teacher you always wanted... that could give you a bonner and still be able to teach you something useful

  • You are Beautiful and thank you for you are uploaded this video, I like to taking pictures and it is always good to know more and thanks again.

  • OMG! I all a sudden got sleepy. But yea I to was waiting for some up skirt. I feel like Dave Chappel..... "Come on Panties!!!"

  • Do you really think that a man would pay attention to what you are saying while you are in this such a short skirt...?

  • Snapchick is doing a senior shoot and brings "Extra memory cards in case one of them might die on you" ... A little morbid don't you think?

  • If more ladies were like you, passionate about camera hardware, there would be much less dating problems. You have a very nice style.

  • @FourSeasonsHD maybe you should get out more :)

  • You remind me of Jill Valentine in this video.

  • Wow, shes ready for war.

  • How many guys are only waiting for a lil' uspskirt ?

  • @mignonette2trois 33,907 ;)

  • @TheSnapChick 33,908 lol

  • @mignonette2trois

non-sense. not everyone thinks like you do. she is pretty and talented, AND I wish her lots of success!!! I like her videos. I've learn a lot from her.

  • @pilas3000 Of course... Me too ^^ But... When i look at Miss Snap, my heart is in springtime, and my camera too far.

  • Comment removed

  • @mignonette2trois nice white panties! ;)

  • @tommyjones1978 Mhhh you have the eye of photograph too man ^^

  • @mignonette2trois I do still. replayed but not yet

  • damn

  • It's cool that you go to the clients house to do these things. Is this the normal for all photographers? It must be really convenient for the client to not have to leave home!

  • @Pianoman0488 I'm pretty easygoing and will travel, so my phone rings a lot.

  • more skin and less equipment, please.

  • can you make a video how you set it up your equipments

  • A few questions. 1) do you use a light meter to balance your Alien Bees and SB flashes? 2) Do you have a guide you recommend for poses? Thanks for posting this up. I'm just starting with off camera flash.

  • @vnitto I usually set my strobe light balance by trial and error. Since I work in my studio every day, I know my settings for various configurations. I have an "eLookBook" posing and lighting guide available on my website.

  • Legs...shoulders...legs..legs...shoulders...where's the camera equipment?

  • Positive attitude is always the key in photography!

  • @leslieianramos Absolutely. When things are upbeat and fun, the photos come out better :)

  • @leslieianramos in life

  • panties in full effect

  • @SICKLIFE718 Running skirts have a little more material than regular skirts... so it's shorts under the skirt, not really panties... but it's still funny! ;)

  • me neither... i was too distracted by your mini skirt... that "hint" of a possibly seeing your undies is a great way to make me watch the entire thing all the way! that and you have good advice.

  • @samgao Hahaha... two reasons to watch! ;)

  • Photorgraphy stands have never looked so good!!

  • @uplift20 :)

  • The folding stool!!!! I now remember how many times I'm on location and would have loved to have a stool! Perfect idea

  • enjoyed your video. Great advice.

  • @whoppers1000 Thanks for watching :)

  • Great video!

  • Ok you wore that skirt purposely cause you have awesome legs and you knew it would give you more views!!!

lol.. i mean it works lol

  • @skybluclothing Hi! I wore it purposely because it is my favorite running skirt. :)

  • @TheSnapChick I just watched this again and forgot I even commented on it but Daaaang you do look amazing!!! So friggin Fiiiiiieeeeiiiiiieeeeeiiine!

  • Marry me?

  • @aMiller6790 Billionaire?

  • @TheSnapChick I will be. :)

  • @TheSnapChick I am. but.. I'm married :(

  • @TheSnapChick lol i asked first!

  • She said "my 2 stobes" giggidy!

  • Comment removed

  • do your customers get distracted by your looks

  • OMG I want to marry you

  • do you know a way for a 14 year old boy to still get nice jobs to do?

  • @jessin8D Shoot all the time, show people your work, and tag along with experienced pros.

  • Great legs! You are SEXY Ma'

  • very beautiful ;]

  • pls face front!

  • lovely lady^^

  • Shooting portraits on location tonight for a fundraiser....using my flashes and pocket wizards instead of my strobes...first time doing so...NERVOUS!

  • @Jigsaw3477 How did it go?

  • @TheSnapChick could have been better.....not many people showed up until after 10 lol...

I have to do a family portrait (mine) on the beach so I am happy I can set it up and then trigger the camera with a pocket wizard.

  • wow. i mean this is HOT!

  • How would you take care of this scenario? -- It's bad weather outside, so outdoor photography is not possible. The client can't stop blinking with every strobe shot. The client tried closing their eyes and opening them upon shutter release to help with the blinking, but it still doesn't work. What would you do? I ran into this scenario.

  • @ecmjr Use the flash in "A" mode on the flash (Nikon). I don't know the setting for Canon, but whatever mode where the flash does NOT use TTL. There is a quick flash before the real flash when using TTL flash - some people will blink from this, although most people cannot perceive the double flash.

  • @ecmjr If you get one shot with their eyes open, you can photoshop the eyes onto the other shots. As long as the light is the same in each shot, it works like a charm. This has also saved me in group shots before.

  • THUMBS up if you noticed more than just her camera Equipment.

  • Ok thats the camera gear taken care of , now lets talk about that skirt, this vid is my no 1 bestest of all time photography vid, its going straight to the top of my favs list, DAMMMMM .great vid by the way .

    PS..... MARRY ME??

  • I was watching other equipment ;)

  • Hi snap chick one question can i carr your bags for you please ..

And get some experience from you ..

ps dont pay me just me be your apprentice ...

    Sime ...

pps great vids by the way ..

  • how often do you find yourself using the external flashes with the diffusers? I mean, obviously it depends, but like do they make that much of a difference if you are outside? How much of a difference do they make compared to the pop up flash? thanks!

  • @youyouc I'm pretty well sold on using the SB-800 with the head at a 45 degree angle with the diffuser on and flash compensation at -2/3rd stop. Obviously, there are many different ways to use a speedlight and the popup flash is capable, too, but I always seem to get the best, most natural light with the diffuser and 45 degree angle :)

  • @TheSnapChick sweet, I'll have to look into getting some externals flashes, thanks for the help!

  • @youyouc They're great for a lot of reasons! Nikon makes it pretty easy to get a few of them all working together, too.

  • Nice scenario, good light, nice color combination, nice sun tan, great 2:48 hotspot..., it would be so nice working with a nicebeauty photographerbeing the model.... And all this nice is nothing when the nicest is inside your brain. I am so confussed... and not because what you say... Precious... cam... great... leg.. tripod leg... sorry... and... wow nice pair of... lenses...

  • ...something about camera equipment...?? = ]

  • wow!!! just have to say why would you need to bring 2 strobes... EVERYONE THINKS THEY ARE A PHOTOGRAPHERS and it has hurt the biz.... if you know what you are doing you only need a reflector flash and an asst.. Lens wise 70-200 and a 50 prime len... i don't mean to be mean but your light choice is very beginner. studio lights are for studio.. why setup on in someones house for senior photo... top senior photographer in the world (larry peters) doesn't bring all that crap were you light meter

  • @bephotoed Shoot how you like...

  • @bephotoed so she's supposed to shoot the way you like? or COPY Larry Peters? I thought the point of being a professional photographer is to make the CLIENT happy. Some of the best photographers in the world carry multiple strobes. Hmm.... Joe Mcnally/David Hobby/Syl Arena/Stephen Eastwood or Larry something... hmm...

    let me think...

  • im sorry... i did't hear a word you said ;D

  • @LuciDreamTv Hahahaha! :)

  • @LuciDreamTv Same here

  • Where did you get the AlienBees carry bags for your strobes? I can't find them on the website.

  • Never mind, I found them!

  • you are really, really doable sweetie. oh, great video too! ;-)

  • Wait wait, writing this down -be on time & smile. Any other pearls of wisdom? You spent more time describing your stool than you did your fancy (*cough) Alien Bees. And you use umbrellas? Are you reeaaally a photographer?

  • @manifest08 OK, be late and frown? :) Which strobes do you use and what specific advantages do they offer?

  • @manifest08 Sorry, Snap Chick. There are an awful lot of haters out there. If you're going to crap all over someone else's opinions, Manifest, or tools they like to use, first post your own work so everyone else can crap all over your abilities. Remember, it's the indian, NOT the arrow. Chick can use whatever gear she wants to get whatever results please her and the people who pay for her services. It's not for you to decide.

  • Thats for the quick reply! You're right, again its about simplicity. This is the first video I've seen of yours and really enjoyed it. Very informative and delivered in an easy to understand format. I like the extension cord idea. I travel w/my Alien bees and thought about getting the Paul Buff power pack, but I guess in most 'on location' situations you could make the extension cord work.

    Great job!

  • @gwilo2 Thanks!

  • Hello,

It looks like you have two Alien Bee's, however, I didnt see any mention of a softbox or beauty dish. What light modifiers do you use?

  • @gwilo2 I most often use a shoot-through umbrella and a silver/gold reflector umbrella. They work great and setup and tear-down is virtually instant!

  • I don't usual view nikon video I'm a CANON guy,but your video looks interesting for a girl so I take a peek and wasn't disappointed so far.

  • You are a hot chick

  • You never show a light meter or reflector I'm sure you do outdoor portraits

  • @katource1 I do outdoor and indoor. I have several videos about studio photography and many examples on my site. No need for a light meter when using a DSLR - test shot, check histogram, adjust.

  • Your videos are GREAT! Very helpful for a beginner! Thanks sooo much!

  • @wthunleashed Thanks for the nice comment :)

  • Thats a great bag, i have a lowepro also, but not as big as that one.

What would be your advice in beggining to make some works in photography?

And no, i dont have a mini skirt to help get the attention to me...

Have i mentioned that you look great? :-)

    Best regards

  • @jbondpt When you start out in photography, I recommend being an assistant for as many different photographers as possible.

  • I will, i will.. I love your bagpack whats the name of it? and whats the tripod you use for you d300s? thanks again.

  • @studiomirs The backpack I use is the Lowepro Slingshot 300. I have another video on my channel where I talk about the bag in more detail. I generally use cheap tripods, as I primarily shoot handheld. Most of the time, my tripods end up getting used as light stands. I use whatever was on sale at Wal Mart when I bought it. If you plan on shooting from a tripod often, I definitely recommend getting a tripod that offers more stability than the cheap ones that I use.

  • thanks again!

  • @studiomirs No problem! Keep me updated on your pursuits! :)

  • thank you for getting back to me so quick!....i have a few questions,i'm begininig to get into photography... and i want to statr doing wedding and newborn pic's outside and studio. I JUST BOUGHT THE D300S with the sigma 18-200mm. I bought both of them for a few reasons: 1) am getting to know lenses and dont want to spend a lot wihtout first getting myself educated. what do you think about the 70-200mm vr II and 17-55mm both from nikon?do you think thats all I will need for studio and portrait?

  • @studiomirs Your 18-200 is fine for almost everything. For weddings in dark churches... that's where the expense comes. If you're shooting from any distance in a dark church, the 70-200 is virtually mandatory. If you have the budget, go for it. If not, renting one for specific events is an option, or the older 80-200 f2.8 is a good deal used. Congratulations on your D300s! For studio, you'll also want to budget for lighting equipment.

  • wats the name of the flash?

  • @studiomirs SB-800. There is an SB-900 now available from Nikon.

  • Educational. Thanks for taking the time to share.

  • @hurcell1 Thanks for taking the time to watch!

  • Great video. Watched it twice just like some of the other viewers. Thanks.

  • @healer2008 Thanks!

  • yum! sexy toned legs...you're very intelligent and kind too :)

  • U R quite pro and sweet! thx for the tips!

  • @totyfotos :D

  • I've watched the video twice but forgot what you were saying lol

  • @tranage LOL :D

  • Can I photograph you?

  • @nikonguy102 After all of your great comments today... sure, why not?

  • If the photographer is cute as you, it will be a hard time for guys.. and if u smile a lot at them no need for retouch they might blush all the time.. lol.. nice equipments u got there..

  • @kabatbut Cute? Me? :)

  • I don't know which I have a bigger crush on...you or your bag of gear! lol

  • @darren5781 The bag is awfully cute, with a lot of compartments :)

  • A cool tip I saw on the web was to go to a sporting goods store during the winter and look for golf travel bags that are on sale or discounted. These bags are basically long rectangular bags that will fit light stands and lots of equipment. The plus side is that many have really good wheels on them making transporting your equipment easier. For added protection you can purchase a cheap exercise mat and wrap your stands before you put them in the bag.

  • @findlay012345 That is a great idea! My bag for light-stands and accessories is shredded.

  • The strobes came in those cases?? They look funny~ do u use softboxes on location or do u preffer (shoot-through) unmbrellas?? ~thanx 4 sharing

  • @770827 Yes, the cases are included. They're handy for taking the show on the road. I tend to use umbrellas because they're cheap and allow for rapid setup and tear-down.

  • no i wont i swear :) plz i am sorry ,xxxx

  • damm ur hot whats your phone number,

we can press on the shutter together ,me with my eos 7d and you with ur nikon

  • @rafibad Nah, you'll just complain about my sh*t lenses ;)

  • @TheSnapChick no i wont i swear :) plz i am sorry ,xxxx

  • Hi Leigh, when shooting senior portraits in a studio environment, do you have a favoured lighting? E.g. is a 'site lighting' more flattering than a rim lighting or a Rembrandt lighting for seniors? I noticed you did not pack any kicker lights or are you using your SB800s?

Thanks for your patience with my questions

  • @geckocraze Most often, what I do would resemble Rembrandt lighting. I move the SB800's around to accentuate the particular features of the subject. Really, though, I really get to know the personality of an individual to come up with something that will show them at their best. I'm self taught with lighting, so although I start out a certain way, by the end of the shoot, the setup can look bizarre.

  • can i ask you a personal question leigh??? are you married or engage coz your wearing a ring on your left hand.just wanna know if you dont mind at all

  • Your underwear is white.

  • @imaginationcatcher It's technically the liner of my running skirt. If you've been to my website, you know that I'm not shy! ;)

  • Comment removed

  • I can tell you are such a nice friendly lady (and pro photographer as well). You're beautiful and have very nice body posture. People would think "Why the model is carrying the cameras, where's the photographer?" LOL.

  • @nikovirtanen I do love good posture :) Thanks! Leigh

  • What photo editing software do you use?? Also does it matter whether or not to power off your camera when changing lenses? Do you?

  • @Mozo901 I use Adobe Photoshop. You definitely want to power of your camera when changing lenses. I occasionally accidentally leave the camera on when changing lenses, but the rule of thumb is to shut the camera off first. Leigh.

  • Hey so is it possible to get a cd-rom of lightroom and then install the software to by computer or do I have to download the software from the site?? If I download from the site, wouldn't that mean I can only download to that computer whereas if I get an actual disk I can install the software onto both my computers.?. If I download from the site could I still install the program onto multiple computers? Any help will be great..

  • @Mozo901 I do don't use lightroom on my PC, so maybe someone who does can chime in. :)

  • @Mozo901 Yo mozo

Simply go to adobe. Com and download a trial version of lightroom 3 and then if you like the software purchase the full version. I can say though that lightroom 3 is a great post production package and it will help speed up your workflow and get your images where you want them to be. It also has the facility to post online at your flickr page. Great program all round and recommended. You can also purchase the DVD online if you don't want to download the package. Good luck!!

  • So after I edit the photos in photoshop, I then have to transfer the photos from the computer to an online site to get prints? Is there any alternatives to printing edited photos in Photoshop?

  • @Mozo901 Besides uploading or bringing them to a store that does printing, your next option would be to print at home with a quality inkjet or dye sub printer. Leigh.

  • Heyi need some help...since I'm new to this dslr thing...after I edit photos in Photoshop, what do I do now in order to print the photos? Do I have to transfer the edited photos back to the cf card and then take the cf card to a kiosk and print it? How do you print dslr photos in general?

  • @Mozo901 Hi! There are lots of different ways. Many convenience stores (CVS, Walgreens) allow you to upload photos to their website and print in store. Costco/Sams Club/Walmart get good feedback, too. For me, I do some proofing at home with a Canon Selphy dye sub printer and I often use MPIX to order prints online, then I receive them in the mail. Leigh.

  • Nope I sure havnt..what is it? O and how old are you, just out of curiousity haha

  • @Mozo901 site name is listed in the video description. It won't let me put web addresses in comments. :)

  • You are really beautiful, just thought I'll let you know. O and great video

  • @Mozo901 Oh, now I'm blushing! Have you checked out my website?

  • take your top off!

  • @wizard1325 Youtube would kick me out if I did that!

  • Imo, one of the best videos you have done!! mostly because you talked about what a photographer should do not just from the 'photograpy' stand point but also from a professional behaviour aspect. luv it. customer for life eh!!!

  • @kumarramachandran Thanks! You made my day!

  • Snappy, another great video. :-)

  • @spearmintmonkey Thanks! Great to hear from you again!
