  • like the shot of the K1 piloting the NGG16 under the bridge. I've never seen them both going for it like that. Usually, the K1 does most of the work! Wow! That was strange seeing the Garrats coming over that crossing. What a sight! Surely, we are greatly blessed in this country. I can't believe I live so close to such a wonderful line and you have captured it beautifully, despite the weather!

  • very viewable, what loks like an historic occasion. steady camera work and natural sound devoid of crap music but for those of us without knowledge of the route, what about some continuity - sense of place - a view from the inside of the countryside - and wasn't that a different engine at the front at the half way stop? -a little green one the wrong way round, as it were. Cheers, Bob the pedant

  • @joehiggs100 Hi. Glad you liked it. The 'little green engine' is passing in the other direction. The full edited video will be available on a DVD called 'A Year in the life of the Ffestiniog & Welsh Highland Railways - 2011' towards the end of the year. This will have captions to explain the action and also video shot from the train. The special occaision was the 1st running of a public train from Caernarfon to Porthmadog.

  • What an achievement. I really wondered if I'd live to see it. Well done to all involved over the last 50 years.

  • Absolutly astounding to see it done. Does anyone know how Porthmadog Stations gunna be changed ot accomodat it though, or is the arrangement with a station Pilot permanant.

  • Superb video!
