I believe in the series she's supposed to be 14 or 15 because "sweet sixteen" is towards the end of the season while this one is at the beginning. That would make Almonzo 24 or 25 since he was 10 years older than her.

Little House, the t.v., is based on Laura's true accounts of her life as a pioneer's daughter... I believe, for enetertainment purposes, Michael Landon (and fellow writers/directors of the show) embellished a lot of what truly happened... If you read Laura Ingalls Wilder's books, you will see exactly what I mean...
