  • What is the melody of the first 28 seconds?

  • @987414484a Please read the video-description ;)

  • @987414484a Music from the ``matrix``

  • @IgorWolf1989 No it's not; he asked for the first 28 seconds and that's definitely a song by me ;)

  • anyone know of a good place to download a keygen for this? Ive got the cd but no dongle or code.

  • @angie4josh Well, then you should consider to buy the original software. Then you will have everything you need. And if you don't have everything you need the Steinberg support will help you.

  • @Starfool06 Thanks for the reply but you see I did buy the program 2 years ago but my dongle was faulty. After pleading with stienberg to help me on several occasions they said if you want to use The Grand 2 again you must purchase a new copy. I told them I understand that you cant just give people free programs but this dongle was dead on arrival and I even took the thing down to Yamaha Australia which is Stienberg here, they turned me away at the door. I ask you this. How is that support?

  • @angie4josh Oh okay, sorry for my comment. But it isn't seldom that people ask such things, when they "bought" a CD illegaly ;)

To the support-story: Wow? That sounds strange. Why should they send you away, when you have a problem? I didn't expect that. Fortunately I didn't have any problems with Steinberg up to now. Did you try to contact the german support? And did you register your product online? Then it should usually be no problem to get a new dongle with the license.

  • 1.09 i think u messed up

  • @BZdaKritta O really?

  • best skill

  • The sounds very midi.

  • nice playing :)

  • Well played

  • Dear Star, Does that keyboard have weighted keys? . If not, can you tell the difference, from a regular piano, when 1. playing it (musculature) and 2. listening to it? . Just wondering. . Cheers. from, del-boy.
  • @ThatsCorrectYesRight Yeah, the keyboard has semi-weighted keys. But there's still a big difference between a regular piano and the axiom. The keys from the Axiom are very "easy" to press, because of the missing hammers, so that you get a more keyboard-like feeling. Second thing: The Axiom is just a MIDI-Controller; don't know if you already knew that. That means: It makes no sound without software on your Computer or without another hardware with MIDI-Input.

  • @Starfool06

    Dear Star,

    Thanks for your response.

    .

It was good to hear all that you said, including the second thing.

    Cheers.

    from,

    del-boy.

  • Marvelous intro....

  • @paulpaid: I added a link in the description if you would like to listen to the whole intro-song.

  • very very nice! i like the way you play.

  • nice dexterity..sounds good

  • what program are you using? thaanks great job

  • @gastonbarker: There were times where people were able to listen and to view a video in full length. ...

  • Nice playing

PS: "The PIano" Lol, this is theme from amelie (movie) "Competite dun etre l'a press midi" by Yann Tiersen or smth like that (i don't know french too much). There are "The Piano" movie too and there are music by Michael Nyman

  • @Zero0097: Google said, that your comment means "and I believed he composed a new song" ... which one do you mean? And was it really what you said?

  • @Starfool06 mm some time when you play a lot a instrument you start to compose songs, well in one of that times I made something like this, sorry for my badd english, good song, and very nice sound :D, i have got the Ivory Italian GP, regards!

  • @Starfool06 Yep, that's what he said, I think he probably composed a song that you've played here...

  • @Starfool06 His comment roughly means "and here I was, thinking that you'd written a new song".

  • @tehDalahast Okay, thanks for that translation. Well, it's not that easy to create a new song nobody ever heard. ;)

  • nice piano sound

  • yes the intro song

  • @ttechtalk: that's a song from me ;) ... well not really a complete song; more an idea I had once... but if you would like to hear it in full length you can visit my homepage (written in my channel-info). There you will find a Link called "Musik" on the top. Now the links are different ones. Now click on "Frags". And there you will find the song "Gedanken". That's the one.

  • whats the first song?

  • @ttechtalk: which one u mean? the first one in the "intro"?

  • YUMMY : )

    Also, check out "Omnisphere"

  • @tinghaling: And what shall "Omnisphere" be?

    Breite: 97,7cm

    Tiefe: 28,5cm

  • the third song is L'Apres Midi by Yann Tiersen

  • Like pianiste0000 said (and like it is written in my video-comments) it's called: "Comptine d'un autre été" and not something with Midi like you said ;)

  • Impressive demonstration, wonderful sounds,

    fantastic playing ...

  • Well, I agree to demonstration and the sounds, but my playing is not really fantastic ;)

There are a lot of people who can do better :)

  • have you tried Reason Pianos

  • No I didn't. I always wanted, but never had enough money after buying the original Reason 4, Cubase 4 and The Grand 2 (and now The Grand 3).

  • @Starfool06

You should try them.. Really amazing , far better then any other piano emulation.. I've been using Grand since the first version, and I love it, but.. Just listen to these pianos.. Regards :))

  • watch from 5:56 and answer yourself.

  • :O sick !

  • How u mean sick? In a good or bad way?

  • to Starfool06... the cracking sound exists because your processor isn't powerful enough

  • well, the video is kinda old, i found that out on my own. I solved the problem by setting the buffer higher.

  • Yes and no.... Could be that he isn't using a good enough Audio Interface as well. You can have a CPU that's awesome but if your sound card is average like the one on motherboards it's going to have the same problem!

  • @BluePaisley: Well, don't know if you didn't read my answer to moomen2009, but I said, that I already solved the problem. The buffer was too low. By setting it a bit higher the cracking sounds were gone.

  • ZZZzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!.................

  • Really great comment o_O

  • Great!

  • Thanks ;)

  • whats the song at 2:45 called?

  • Well, you should activate the annotation-function. There is written what the song is called and who made it. -> It's "Comptine dun autre ete" (or something like that) by Yann Tiersen.

  • Also was abgehackte lange Töne angeht, ist die Polyphonie ausschlaggebend.

  • you play wrong "The Piano" as you called it.. the real title is "Comptine d'un autre etè"

  • What do I play wrong? Tell the time in the video. I know myself, that I don't play it perfect and you must know, that I play it by ear without any notes. To the title: I added a comment to the video, where I wrote the right title (maybe it's not correct french, but that doesn't matter for me, because I hate that language). I did that because nearly every second comment was "the correct title is ... it's not the piano.." and so on.

  • I wrote the comment of the title for viewers that want to know the real title of the song (P.s. I hate french too :-D).. As concerns the error that you commit is at 3:18.. isn't B E B but B D B.. do you understand? Sorry for my english :) i'm italian

  • Alright I see... I listened to the original again and now understood what you meant ^^ It really is B E B first, but after that B D B, you're right ^^ ... I didn't notice that. Thanks for correcting me.

  • I play this beautiful song 5 or 10 times at day ad so i can't listen it with errors! it's perfect with the original notes :)

  • I know it's perfect with original notes, but like said: I don't know the original notes, because I played it by ear and I didn't notice, that there is a LITTLE difference. Usually that doesn't happen ^^

But in this case it did and because of you I know how to do better.

  • If you play by ears you are very great! this song is difficult to play by ears in some parts like that where you had error! You are good! :-)

  • souds like (the cracking) buffer underflow... use a higher latency

  • Wahr. "buffer underflow... use a higher latency" richtig & richtig.

  • thanks ;)

  • very impressive...u rock!!!

  • Is it The Grand oder The Grand 2?

  • Lol.. wieso schreibst du mir in Denglisch? ^^ ... Also in diesem Video ist es ausschließlich das Plugin "The Grand 2" (was der Titel ja auch aussagt). Aber The Grand ist auch bei The Grand 2 dabei.

  • lol ich finds so geil, wenn manche Leute einfach ein deutsches Wort in nen englischen Satz hauen, das klingt so lächerlich, könnt mich da jedes mal kranklachen xD

  • Do you have the sheet or a tab for the first song you play? (Rob D - Clubbed to Death?)

  • No sorry, I don't. I just played by ear.

  • I believe the piano part in Clubbed to Death is lifted straight from Elgar's Enigma Variations. You should be able to find the sheet music pretty much anywhere.

  • Could you PLEASE demo the YAMAHA CP-80?

  • Sorry, but what is the Yamaha CP-80? :D

And I am just a usual customer, I don't have a music store or something, so that I could play any instrument just for showing it on YouTube ;)

  • Do you like the Grand 2 better over Akoustik Piano ?

  • Is Acoustik Piano the one of Native Instruments? If yes: I never tried that out. But at the moment The Grand is my unbeaten favourite in Piano-Sounds.

  • yes I definatly recommend trying it out, what i like about it is you get to choose from 4 diffrent famous piano's and 24bit quality samples. although it is a wopping 6 gigs i find it worth it but the grand and akoustic piano are both great samplers. nice controller btw

  • what model is this? 1 or 2?

  • Should be two. A nearly always use 2. But sometimes one sounds better. Depends on what I want to play. But in this video it was 2 I think.

  • Nice played man^^

    Keep on going

  • I will... if I have time ;)

  • what's the name of the second song? beautiful;)

  • The second song is "Clubbed to death" by Rob D(ougan). But it's also shown in the video ^^

  • well so i did a mistake, it's the 3 song, it's merci - but i can't find the song, whos the composer , the name of the song is merci?

  • ah okay, sorry... you didn't count the first song... didn't know that ^^

well I don't know how it is called and if it is a real song.. but in germany we have a chocolate called "merci" and the song / melody is from the commercial.

  • ok thanks:)

  • Amelie;)

  • Yeah, you're right ;)

  • coo

  • Hey.

Props for the video, Steinberg didn't seem to think they had to demo this VST (I couldn't find a demo on their site o.O), so I turned here instead. Thanks!

    Nice playing BTW. ;)

  • hey sound awesome that program !! very good your play man ;) , five star

  • Yeah, the grand has a real good sound... I am so glad that I bought that... was a good investment ;)

But at playing I am not very good. I guess for better playing I need a more "realistic" keyboard, because I learned playing on a piano.

  • Where it said, 'Starfool Presents'; the begining, what's the name of that song.

btw, great playin. im goin to learned that clubbed to death song now.

    Thx ^__^

  • The song you mean has no name. It's improvised/composed by me. If you'd like to listen to it send me your e-Mail. I'll send it to you as mp3-file then.

  • The cracking is from your interface. Raise your latency a bit. They're quite mild compared to some that I've had.

  • Meanwhile I found it out for myself ;) But thank you anyway.

Was meinst du mit wenig voices gleichzeitig?

  • So glad to see the axiom finally being used for proper piano i was going to get the 69 keys to replace my normal heyborad and it's good to see you can do a bit of classical as well

  • i have the 1 and 2, es great!!!:P

  • Very nice playing!

Could you please tell me what are your settings on the grand?

Cause I have this and can't make it sound well.

A little help will be appreciated! :-)

  • Well I don't know what you mean, because I just took the "normal" Sound of The Grand 2 and played on the Axiom. Everything Standard, didn't do anything special ^^

  • Ah okay, except of the moment while playing the thing from counting crows (colorblind), there I took "soft".

  • ok ok ok

  • amazing piano!!respect the grand 2.....

  • Hi,

you play piano very beautifully, and you are very talented!

Bro, can you temme, I heard there are some probs in the Axiom 61 like the F key sounding hard or the keys being not so gud... what do you say?? isnt it a nice MIDI controller?

  • About the F key I can't tell you anything, because it works fine, at least here on mine ;)

And yeah, the keys are a bit sticky in the beginning but with a bit playing they will lose this "stickyness" ;)

As a MIDI-Controller for producing and so on it is very comfortable. But if you wanna play the piano or something, then you should take another keyboard.

  • also if the keys are sticky and it doesnt get better you get a full refund :). I'm getting my axiom 61 today and can't wait :D! nice playing, what the first song called btw? cheers, Jaroo

  • Thx for the comment. What song do you mean? In the beginning with the Logo? (With the text and so on?) - If yes, then it has no name. It was just a bit playing around by me. A short thought ^^

  • na the very known score that you play right after, clubbed to death?

  • yeah, like shown in the video :P ... it's by Rob D and called clubbed to death... that's right.

  • is Grand 2 compatible with vista?

  • Yeah, Cause I use Vista too. Only thing that I didn't have to update ;) (maybe just with a patch, dunno ^^)

  • great playing- I just bought one of these keyboards, so I hope it's a good one !

  • Maybe not the best for playing the piano, but it eases the music production a lot :D

  • what software are you using for recording? great job really nice

  • For Recording voices or something like a guitar I take Cubase 4. But in this Case it was just the standard recording program from Creative (Soundcard). I plugged the digital out from the Audio-Interface (M-Audio Firewire 410) to the Digital In from the soundcard and chose "Digital in" for recording and recorded it. It was as easy as it sounds :D

  • that is so nice. I have just bought the grand 2 and wondering if you could help me...I have tried everything in the world to get the sustain pedal to work but no such luck. what is a piano without a pedal!! It works with other midi instruments but this one. even as a stand alone program it won't work.

  • sehr schön =)

its wonderful i like your playing!!

  • synthogy ivory is superior imo.

  • wow, i know what im spending my next 250 bucks on, this blows every piano emulator i ever heard away.

  • I swear it will be one of the best things you ever bought :D

  • The vsti is "True Piano" isn't it?^^

  • Ah nope :D ... it's called like the video, "The Grand 2" from Steinberg. Maybe it's called True Piano in another country, don't know. But here it's "The Grand 2"

  • I need to buy that software! Those sounds are amazing!

  • the problem is, that you've set a very low latency in your sequencer.

  • That is correct, or an onboard soudncard, to crappy, but i don't hope it.

  • Bad timing about 3:25 -->

    Work on the arpeggio.

  • Yeah I know, but like said: This is just a demonstration of how "The Grand" sounds and not a "look what cool things I can play"-video :D

Second Thing: That Keyboard isn't made for playing the piano. It's a masterkeyboard with many functions to ease productions. If I wanted to play a real piano I would go downstairs :P - the arpeggio sounds a lot better there.

  • Again about the arpeggio, the second chord is a G, so your right hand is supposed to play B-D-B, you keep playing an E with your second finger, that's why it sounds so weird. other than that, you play really well. and I agree with a comment here, you should really try to enjoy music by playing with other people...but in a small town I imagine that must be difficult.. Cheers!

  • That's very nice "SF06".now take the next step GO and Jam and Interact with other musicians, then GO and interact with a Live Audience, come out your bedroom u can do it.Real Music is interaction between Live Musicians and a Live Audience, anything else is just musical "Masturbation" so quit "jackin off".your audience is waitin for ya.

  • Lol... thx ;) ... you're right, real music is very cool. I played the drums in a band a while. But because of many things that didn't last more than half a year. And I live in a very small villate, far away from civilization :D ... so it isn't very easy to find another musicians who need somebody like me.

  • What comes out the sound from ??? Did you use some output speakers ?? :) it sounds f*cken great man...

  • It comes from my pc. It's a software called "The Grand 2", that sounds so amazing. And I have an audio-interface (external soundcard), that leads the sound to my internal soundcard (via digital cable) and that's it.

  • i was looking for a vst piano..

    so i googled..

finally i decided to download "the grand"

    and i said..well..hope it sounds good...but..

how do i want it to sound like?

and i said: i wish i could get the sound of colorblind..it's so nice and mellow..

    and it does sound great..

    thnks for the video ;)

  • Well, I guess you should BUY a good vst like that and don't download it. You can tell me what you want, but you need a dongle to get a Steinberg-product running, so it surely wasn't legal. I'm glad that I was able to influence your choice... but like said: better buy it, it's worth it!

  • There are emulators, but enough about warez:P Nice playing.

  • i have an 3000+ Anthon AMD and have no soundcard, will Grand 2 delay much?

  • If you have no soundcard - how do you want to make it sound? Or do you mean you only have an onboard Soundchip? However: I can't tell you that. You will have to ask Steinberg for those problems. Sorry :(

  • 3 min = comptine d'été Yann Tiersen, check my version ^_^

  • The last song that you play is by Yann Tiersen called "Comptine D'un Autre Ete" He is a well known and respected composer...great job, I also use an axiom 61 for my home recordings.

  • whats the song you play at 0:30 secs

  • Well... what shall I say? Just read the text on the bottom :D ... it's the song "Clubbed to death" by Rob Dougan (known from the Matrix-Movie)

  • Wow, I love the sound of that keyboard! Awesome job man, you play really well! Keep it up!

  • It's not the sound of the keyboard, it's just a controller ;) ... the Sound is generated by Steinbergs VST-Plugin "The Grand 2". I just wanted to let you know that ;)

  • Did you solve the cracking noise already? Because I think the solution is easy: I found out that if I use a too low delay selected at the ASIO Control Panel, that the sounds start to have little cracking noises due to that the software can't keep up with everything. I can't explain it in a more logical way, but setting the delay value or tweaking in an other way around with your settings may solve these problems.

  • Yeah, I tried the same and at least it works, when I am not recording. I didn't try it while recording again, but I guess that should do it. And many thanks for your help!

  • No problem, glad to help out although it ain't the perfect solution.

Keep up the good work! :)

  • Ah damn... I forgot my newest video :D ... okay, it works also whilst recording :D (look at my "live jammin'" video)

And maybe it ain't the perfect solution, but at least it works ^^

Before my axiom I used the MIDI-Ports of my Interface and then you really notice the delay. Because of that I lowered the buffersize...

  • Yeah the latency thats causing the crackling.or the cpu maxing out either one can cause crackling i always gotta adjust my settings depending on what i am using. it also has ecano mode to save cpu. but i love this program! nice play aswell i love that piano song i am trying to learn it !

  • Hi,

I was tempted to buy Axiom 61, after viewing this vid.. I didn't looked further, I was decided =).

P.D.: The last song "the piano", is from the movie "Amélie" ;)

    Greets from Chile.

  • really nice work !

  • Is this the grand 2 or 1? I like two a lot better ive had both.

  • The title says it already, "The Grand 2" ;)

I also have both, I can choose between 2 and 1, but I only bought 2.

  • You play wel, get good feeling out of Axiom.

"The Piano" is a Yann Tiersen composition for the french film "Amelie" I believe...it's on the soundtrack anyway and he wrote most of it..

Keep it up, props from NL.

  • Oh cool, that's nice to know! Thank you!

    Greetings from Germany ;)

  • ich find das soooooooo toll o.ô ^♥^

  • Hey Starfool, i watched your hole vid and really enjoyed it! There's much feeling in your play.

I found your vid by searching for the axiom 61. I'm going to buy it... but you know, money is a problem ;)

Thank you for the vid. Greetings from germany!
