  • or a v8 would do well

  • i want to see what happens when they run into a wall

  • obv this is a failed attempt to be like "Charlie bit my finger"

  • 'Green' technology! Recycled materials! Environmentally friendly! And with a GAS motor... FABULOUS!

  • Awwww ....look at him ! i dare not let my little MaxTheBad see it Zip ...or you will have to make him one too hehe .....awesome !

  • It sure starts easy. Looks like they were all having a load of fun! Cool! Good going mom and dad!

  • sounds like my 5 year old lol

  • fuck this bullshit!

  • ur kids? cute. im in 4th grade, and i wanna make one! lol

  • @danidoodlebugster good for you. if you like stuff like this you should start learning now. infact soon you learn how to stuff like the the better off you are. i started learning about atuo engines and stuff in like 5th grade and now i'm smarter then some audlts and when your in high school you can take class were you learn about this, and i got to skip the begginer class because i already new so much :)

  • @chadro85 yeah... im in 5th now, and im getting more into technolegy and buildidng stuff, it somthing i really enjoy!!!my dad is really good with computers... so im kinda a trainee! XD

  • lol nice cruiser

  • HAHA LOOKS LIKE GRAMPAS GOKART FROM SIMPSON ROAD RAGE !

  • IT IS SLOW BUT it doesnt need to go fast for fun for the kids to be safe and have fun

  • Now make one out of legoes

  • Put a 12 hp on it >:P

  • what did you use for the motor?

  • @AsianReflexes

    It's a Tecumseh 3.5HP vertical engine.

  • I'd have put some facing on the tops of the blocks so that there aren't all those pegs exposed.

  • so it has no clutch?

  • ...

  • It needs a clutch

  • It needs a clutch

  • i will give 500 for it

  • Thanks but I gave the cart to my neighbors. They have four young boys that are around the same age as my daughter. Their father is great. He's made a few tweaks to the cart to make it safer and etc. Every now and then they'll all get together and take it out for a spin. =)

  • @Zipblocks cool can u make a mini bike frame out of it if so make 1 when ur done sell it to me if u live in the us

  • look like the moms just airing out her coochie

  • dam thats crazy..nice creation wit construction material

  • haha thats cute nice vid :D

  • loll that cool

  • shitttttlyyyyyy

  • @cantonhockey1 You're just jealous of it's awesomeness. It's logo ,"So easy a baby can drive it".

  • how many km per hour the engine

  • I'm not sure how many km/hour it goes. It's slow...I can run faster than it can go. The engine is very small.

  • i like how his wife sit behind the kid with a skirt on and legs spread bahahahahahaha and did u notice the twat shot he got lol look at the kid at :26

  • @BABYSTOMPER101 I'm pretty sure that kid isn't the least bit interested in his mothers "twat".

  • good thing, crash it and just put the pieces back together

  • thats ugly

  • hot wife

  • HOLY RED NECK GO-KART!!!!!!

  • lol looks like fun :)

  • Its a giant lego with an engine haha looks fun as hell though.

  • That is cool stuff.

Also, Its limo gokart pretty cool!

  • Thanks & glad you like it. Per putting up a tutorial, it wouldnt do too much good as Zipblocks arent available in stores yet. Im still looking for a manufacturer that is interested in making them out of wood or some sort of rigid plastic material.

This video loosely illustrates how it was assembled. Just replace the DOT with a .

    youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=aKSeaVkknXc

  • arnt roads for cars and bikes?

  • I like it....What about an electric motor? great job

  • Thanks... I'd like to make it all electric, but don't want to put much money into it. I check Ebay and the local paper every now and then for parts. If I find a really good deal I'll probably jump on it.

I've watched a number of electric gokart vids on YouTube...some really impressive electric karts out there...

  • maybe a power wheels motor thats been upgraded to 24v

  • how long thid it take you pleas answer

  • Only took me a few minutes to put a frame together using pre-cut & pre-painted blocks...these parts fit together quickly...just like using toy construction bricks.

Mounting the wheels, engine, and steering to the frame took me about a week. Everything had to be custom fitted to work with the frame.

  • =)

thate is so cool i woud love tu build one difrent style but were do theye sell thoes cubes

  • Zipblocks are not being sold in stores yet. Sometime next year blocks made from foam should start entering the market. I have not found a manufacturer that wants to make them out of wood yet.

  • So these are just giant legos?

  • Yup...that's a good way of putting it.

  • pretty cool idea how much do they cost

  • It took 346 cubes worth of Zipblocks to build the wooden frame. Were these blocks being manufactured and available at a home supply center they would probably run 10 cents a piece at very most. So realistically the Zipblocks for the wooden frame would run about $34.60 or less.

  • Guys stop.... he is just trying to have fun.... he is like 3 years old

  • dumbass mofos

  • zipblocks... dumb idea

  • thats a piece of crap

  • lol Not bad for a kids kart Good Job =D

  • nice

  • Very nice!

I really like doing things like others would no do :D

But I don't understand how the transmission works to transform a vertical shaft to a horizontal shaft... Can you explain a little more?

    Thanks

  • there isnt a transmission

it just has one pully on the shaft to the wheels and another on the engine

they are linked by a twisted belt

  • they might just have a singe speed gerbox with a centrificule or the press gas and it put it in gear its seems like a self propelld morew you know

  • thats not green because it has a gas engine

  • theyre prolly just talkin bout the stuff they built it with

  • Nice :P

  • Gotta say she's got some nice legs

  • I saw you start it and it just takes off. How is the engine controlled?

  • When you crank it up the engine runs at a set speed.

A peddle on the right makes it go when you press down on it (engages a pulley) and makes it stop when you let off of it (engages a brake).

For some reason the peddle is very hard to get it working properly(brake does not always engage properly). One of these days I'm just going to stick some regular brakes on the kart. Dont drive it much because the brakes are flakey/dangerous.

  • In fact, you cannot stay at the same place when the engine is started? That's sad, because it's a king of good kart that you have here.

  • why would you let your lady wear a skirt like that on that?

  • the first girl with kid was kinda scary

  • whats the purpose of making those blocks into something? Can you just use those wood scraps that the blocks were made from to begin with?

  • that shit is slow but the kid thing is right but attleast a little faster

  • looks like it built out of legos but cool tho

  • That is slow

  • would you want to go fast with a small child on the front of it

  • its still gay

  • You guys are awesome!

  • Take the governor off the engine so u go faster.

  • it doesnt look very fast....

  • That is actually pretty cool man.

  • Nothing is more "green" then a two-stroke!

  • @gheatwole no nothing is more green than what some people smoke lol lol lol lol

  • @gheatwole its a 4 stroke engine retard.

  • @gheatwole i would agree a "green" two stroke, little gay kids, and NO BRAKES! They were probably "high" when building it

  • It doesn't appear to have any throttle or brakes. How careless.

  • if itss gunna be that long make it in to a jr draagster damn put some juice in that baby

  • makes me remember when my girls wrer little.

  • wow?

  • hehe looks fun. hope tha tkid enjoyed it.. i sure has hell would :p

  • sweet

  • hey guys that leave comments like societies asses, please stop they are little kids, why be so negative, so please stop, thanks.

  • Hey, dont be mad becuase when U were a child u couldnt have fun with gocarts becuase u were poor. :S Too bad for u!

  • im 13 dork and i do have fun with go carts

    (im on my alt account)

  • im 13 dork and i do have fun with go carts

    (im on my alt account)

    Yes, yes ideedums colecoffrothFB.

    And yes, weird I am...

  • your alt account? is this one that you masturbate to tila tequila episodes so your mom doesnt find out? dork?

  • i might be offended if your name wasnt nerdskater

  • so what your a hardcore punk skater? homie

  • hell yes bitch

  • you kids and your crazy language

  • so gay

  • how fast gan u get it going off 3.5 hp ?

  • Top speed is around 8 MPH.

  • put a throttle on it

    and idol it slower

  • thats wus kool

  • very nice i wish u and ur children a happy life.

  • Cool

  • Thats cool :)

  • That's pretty nice lol

  • where did you get that engine?

  • I got the engine off of an old go kart that I cannibalized. Go kart that I pulled it off was a "Turbo Turtle" made by Carter.

  • how meny hp?

  • Not much...only 3.5 hp...needs a bigger engine.

  • is that sarha did she go to mast landing

  • Nope...goes to a school in Fort Mill, SC.

  • Most dangerous homebuilt shitty ride for a kid.

  • omg everyone there just kids!!!!!!!!!11

  • its pretty cool but runs on its own. if that was mine i would speed that baby up a little

  • I made the Zipblocks myself out of plywood. The following URL shows how they can be made...just replace the "DOT" with a "."

    zipblocksDOTcom/how_they_work_2_2_pdf.htm

We haven't found a manufacturer that wants to produce them from wood yet. If/when wood Zipblocks do start to become available...they shouldn't cost much more than the raw materials from which they are made from. Foam Zipblocks may start showing up next year.

  • were did you det the zipblocks

  • how did you use a vertical shaft engine did you use a worm and pinion gear or just a belt drive to the axel

  • The kart is moved much like a self propelled mower. A shaft extends out of the side of the engine that has a small pulley. The axle has a pulley on it as well. A belt wraps around both pulleys.

This video shows how it works...just replace the "dot" in the URL with a "."

    youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=RhBl6TkApic

  • does that automatically start going when you start it up????

  • It does if you press on the go/brake pedal when cranking it up...else it will stay put.

  • WOW there goin 4

  • wut a great parent u are biulding fun stuff for your kids

  • um, how do you assemble the throtle and brake thing together with the motor?

  • These two movies attempt to explain how the mechanics of this kart operate.

Just replace "DOT" with a "." for these two URLs

    youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=RhBl6TkApic

    youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=aKSeaVkknXc

  • can u tell me the motor u used? what motor is it? horsepower?

  • It's a Tecumseh 3.5HP vertical engine.

  • lame video how fast does it go 2 mph it stinks!!!!!

  • is that girl sick or something??

    i mean... "no just bye"

    is that normal

  • Nice work, one of a kind. Looks clean, mean AND green. Great fun for the kids.

  • Yup. The blocks were made out of ordinary plywood. For what it's worth...pound for pound wood is stronger than steel.

  • WOW NICE JOB!

  • some nitro and cut off the front and make it small then ur good 2 go

  • howd u make it

  • youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=aKSeaVkknXc

    Replace DOT with .

  • it lok like lego

  • cool i dont see how it can turn though

  • I thing the front wheels do. DO you see the cord coming from the steering wheel? It goes to the front wheels

  • you need to get a welder and some metal

  • a gas engine saves the enviroment.. but whatever still good. i like the recycled wood idea

  • nice .....but is it legal?

  • no go kart is street legal

  • How much does each block cost approx. How much did it take to make a go kart of this design? Approx cost for something smaller (shorter) not to tall, etc.?

  • Wooden Zipblocks are inexpensive.

One sheet of plywood easily yields 320 2.25 inch cubes...which translates into 60 feet of cubes. You can buy easily purchase ¾ inch plywood for $30 a sheet. So each cube costs $30 / 320 = $0.09375 or about 10 cents per cube.

This cart has 346 cubes in it...which means that it took around $34.60 worth of plywood to build the frame.

A manufacturer could easily produce Zipblocks at costs less than 10 cents per cube by using less expensive materials.

  • how did you geth the steering hooked up? I think everything with the motor is ok, but i just wondering about the steering?

  • I went ahead threw a quick vid together of how the drive belts and steering work.

    It's available at:

    youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=RhBl6TkApic

...just replace the DOT with "."

  • I'm building a neighborhood kart out of metal & wood.

  • Sweet! Post a vid of it on You Tube and send me a link when you get it out there... =)

  • cool. I will. that is an awsome kart.

  • can you send me a link to thanks.

  • @Zipblocks Hi, im Utubepersonz (this is my other account). Just wanted to say that I have a murray 6hp go kart now and still currently making plans for a race-based gokart that im going to build after i learn how to weld.

  • did u put a gear box

    because it a vertical motor

and how did u hook up the motor to wheels

  • The kart is moved much like a self propelled mower. A second shaft extends out of the side of the engine.

I created a video of stills that shows how most of the parts were put together...it is available at URL:

    youtubeDOTcom/watch?v=aKSeaVkknXc

Just replace the Dot with a "."

    =)

  • u could do it with a chain, that is what I'm going to do with mine.

  • hey is that a lawn mower engine

  • Yup...it's a lawnmower engine...but we actually pulled it off of an old gokart that we cannibalized for the engine, wheels, and etc. It's a Tecumseh 3.5HP vertical engine.

  • Green tech? What are these units composed of, crushed something or other?? Great concept!

  • They are made from plywood. It's easy to build them out of plywood in generic wood working shop and it's inexpensive as well (don't have a lot of funds at the moment). They could easily be made from composite wood materials as well. Aside from sustainable materials like wood...they could be made from recycled plastics.

Zipblocks are also green in that they never lose their value. If you get tired of what you built...just disassemble it and use the blocks to build something else.

  • does it go any faster? oh well. it is cool.

  • Nope...it doesn't go any faster. If/when I get the time...perhaps I'll replace the engine and rear drive with something that will make it go a lot faster. It was a lot of fun building this... :)

  • it definetely must have been a lot of fun building it! that kart is totally cool!

  • It was a lot of fun. My nephew wants me to build him a red fire engine go kart. He's the kid at the beginning of the movie...sitting up front.

  • thats apsalutly awsom
