@amarantine1323 Put it like this. Mako is like a drug...a really powerful drug that never leaves the system. SOLDIERs are likely eased into that drug. It's supposed to mess with your head quite a bit.

Cloud never passed the SOLDIER exams. So he hadn't had even had a drop of mako in his life. Then Hojo gets his claws into him and literally dunks him in the stuff. Probably shocked his system. Then Zack takes him out and he goes cold turkey. It caused his body to shut down temporarily.

I think the Turks were on their own mission, without cooperating with Shin-Ra and Tseng was the head of it. He had (or almost had) befriended Zack five years later and probably had feelings for Aeris, that's why he's been meaning to save Zack and give those letters to him...

All of the above. Turks operate separately from the Army (even if they do both work for ShinRa) so Tseng is calling the shots. He sees a way to safely bring in Zack/Cloud w/out having to kill them. Plus he feels a comraderie w/Zack (they both love Aerith & Tseng was entrusted w/looking after her for Zack in his absence; Zack/Tseng went on many missions together also). Also, in 'Before Crisis' the Turks often disobeyed ShinRa's orders for their own agenda, so this is just more of the same.

In the AC Reunion Files they actually call Rude "Cloud's goofy rival". Notice too in AC that when Cloud wakes up, Reno tells him "you know, you're heavy" - meaning HE carried Cloud outta the church and Rude carried Tifa. That must've made him pretty happy. :D

It is not "missing" in that sense. Square had not directed the Crisis Core version of Zack's death when they made the quick flashback we see in AC. They adjusted things to their wish in Crisis Core without thinking about AC, that simple.

There's no voice or text, but you can "see" a part of that scene in Cloud's flashback in the ending. It's from Cloud's POV, looking at Zack's face and they're both running (the camera angle's all shaky). I think SE found a way to sneak it in. Also, the scene where Zack first meets Cloud and says "Me? I'm from Gongaga" isn't in CGI, but in Cloud's flashback in the ending it is! I just found that strange...

I just don't understand what Zack was thinking, before the ambush I mean. He's one of the best SOLDIERs and he couldn't find a way to sneak into Midgar? Broad daylight in the middle of desert wasteland surrounding the city...there had to be a smarter way of doing this.
