Really great job man! Working through Rick's licks at the moment, wonderful book, really allows a person to be surrounded by so much creativity and imagination. Great kit, Great sound, Great playing Great player. Sub
There is nothing wrong with how he's holding his sticks. He's holding them French Grip (palms out) and really, the only wrong way to do something is any way that limits you from being the best you can be or that gives you pain or discomfort while playing.
Have any of you guys seen Rick play two feet on one kick pedal?Pretty interesting..........Rick is a laugh a real practical joker.......and his wife Maureen is a smokin drummer herself!!Great people..
Rick's Licks! Love the book! His video was cheesy, but that was the "90's". I loved watching him miss that cymbal hit in his into music. But, nonetheless, one of the best instructional videos out there. He doesn't spend time showing off, but teaching. I transferred my VHS to DVD and divided it in chapters according to the sections in the instruction pamphlet. I'm still learning a lot from it.
Yep it is one of the best books around... really takes time to figure it out... I never saw is video? I will see if I can get a copy... googeling now!
Thanks for the compliments... just hackig away here in Tampa!!!
Yep... I just found the transcript... I learned it a while ago and changed it up a bit... cool groove... I just did it like Gratton w/ lh hh... the guy blows me away... the toughest study book I have used! Rick's Licks... get it!
Very nice, I wish I could play it this good! The last two ghostnotes with the left hand should be played on the hihat though if you wanna do it exactly like Rick. The transcription of this groove is somewhere on the Drummerworld site I believe.
Excellent work!!! I love the rhythm of the cowbell and the snare ghost notes are real effective. This truly gives me something to work on. Then I can play it during sound check and impress everyone...
