  • Great video and nice studio you have.

You said that you have two sets of headphones. You have the Yamaha and Technique headphones. Could you tell me which models of each you have? The both make so many models.

  • hey, awsome explanation.. About the Duet piece umm, does it comes with sounds or its just to filter the sound your putting thru ?

  • I rap but i dont have any knowledge on how to record or anything on my computer.. what do i need? i have a pc. i have reason. id like to produce later however right now im just focusing on recording over beats ive already heard.. (cover) HELP YOUTUBE GENIUSES...

  • you are fukin rich nd we dont hav d money to go ot nd get dis stuffff so i did not tink dis was helpful

  • @RCdudeism If you see his next video he explains to try to stay in your budget. Also, he said it took him years to get everything by saving his money.

Oh, by the way, try to spell better if you are going to try to insult someone.

And you don't have to be rich to build something like this. Though I don't have a "booth" I am looking to only spend about 500-1000 bucks on my little studio and I am saving for.

  • @RCdudeism this for a reference on what you need to get

  • @RCdudeism Well, then, go get a job and earn it.... wah wah wah... Personally, I feel he did a very good job trying to help a person who is a beginner. I own a full blown recording studio and was curious when I saw the tag. I wish that I could have seen something like this when I started out in 1987. Of course in 1987 we were still using tape and blades... Nice intro.....

  • thanks dude for the info. very helpful.

"What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us."

    - Ralph Waldo Emerson

  • i big u up,i have heard and seen people trying to explain this on the tube but none match u up,i respect you keep it up,well thought

  • "alright guys?" Lol.

  • Very useful. I had been searching for videos just like this all over youtube and I kept skipping over this one because I thought I already watched it but it's better than all the others

  • Music production isn't any cheap , you have to work to get what you want unless you're rich

  • Thank you for your help man.

  • in part 1 he shoulda said "the very first thing you should do is save and gets lots of money"

  • Thank you

Also you are an advanced enough ... check out the vids I got to make w a world-class studio designer and engineer ... good stuff I know you'll appreciate. check us at Secretpros ..

  • Dave if I have a mac book will i still be able to use a duet sound card, I need a labtop for school.

  • can't go wrong with a pair of beyerdynamic dt100 headphones.

neumann u87 is the best condenser mic imo, but it is about £2k, not cheap. a dynamic mic such as a shure 57 is a good place to start out. condenser mics are really up to taste.

  • @edcerc Saw all equipments on part 1 video? This is a hip hop studio recommendations b'cuz it got an electronic keyboard and DAW which is a heart of hip hop beats and DJ turntable to add remixes to your beats and a vocal booth which is used in some of the genres like pop,hip hop etc.and many basic things for singing like sound card etc.

  • thanks for this

  • I use a 99$ mic and a closet with some homemade padding, I have a comp with 4 gigs of ram, and great drivers so it makes up for stuff. I do only raps, and people make beats for me so I dont need much else.

  • great vid,i am aN aspiring producer ,what do you think i need more and is cost efficient, beat making software or beat production machine.i plan on getting both but the money is the problem, which is more important for me to get just to start off.THANK YOU

  • What do u think is the top three things u need to start off with?

  • Hey young man, I am a father with a son who is rapidly getting into the music ans I am sure, with what you have shared here, that I can assist him in getting the basic items her will need. A+ attutude and delivery, and I plan to have my son pay attention to you and how you come across with your information.

  • Very informative! Thank you and it is night time.

  • Thank you very much! You are great!

  • thanks for the info

  • Thanks bro -

  • what about the pro tools usb producer mic?

  • i have 256mb of RAM. For anyone who knows please give me your opinion/answer. how much will this effect the process of recording

  • @137601 my laptop has more then that and when i try im waiting for ages to record i use my mac with 4gb ram works so good you should deffs consider upgrading

  • @137601 thats really not alot...

    you can probably upgrade though.

  • @137601 - 256mb of Ram is pretty hopeless in all honesty. Depending on what your workflow is like and how you tend to use your computer will affect greatly how much RAM you will need in your Studio Computer. However, its realistic for you to have 2GB's or more of ram if you working with a DAW. The more memory the better, it means your computer can handle way more tasks before maxing out its ram. I have 8GB's, and I'd never go for less...

  • good video...thks for tha tips

  • hey man me and my boy are putting a studio together were both writing music but were gonna be recording some other people hopefully.. we have a mac with logic pro, drum mics, and a mixer.. so we got some more things to get but i was wondering if you have any tips on using logic? and is the sound card the same as an audio interface?

  • jesus, if you don't have any of that stuff you'd probably end up spending thousands of dollars.

  • i got the same mic you have for 70 bucks you spent way to much

  • i got a blue bird with shok cage and pop filter for 279

  • the firebox is a pre-amp for your mic

  • Great tips. Thanks.

  • You sir are AWESOME. Thanks for the tips. Really helped me out.

  • i got my mic for 70$

  • Great advice Dave. One thing people ought to keep in mind as they gradually upgrade their gear is that the higher the quality of your mic, and pre amp, the more important room acoustics become as a priority issue.

This could be an unpleasant surprise if room acoustics are not high end recording friendly.

  • my Q bro

where do i put my mic in th mixser or on th soundcard interface ?

  • a vocal booth in an old closet, genius :)
