  • he is Great Little guy and very Smart Well done !

  • I'm not sure who told you that fish oil is beneficial for apraxia, but this is basically an old wives tale...

  • @Shaddi100202

It is exactly the same thing found in fish. Have you ever heard of vegetable oil, olive oil, canola oil? Well, this is fish oil, same principle. The exact same thing that is in fish, is extracted and offered in capsule form. Some cultures eat a lot of fish with no ill effects, so it can't be as dangerous as you claim. Also, if you would share your research, as long as the source is trustworthy, I would be happy to offer it on my website.

  • Please, just make sure your fish oil is certified mercury free.

  • My son is 4 with severe verbal apraxia. Mkay, so I've done a research on the net about the fish oil and will give it a go...... Thanks for your vid, he really is a cutie :)

  • Are you sure he had verbal apraxia? Cause he not even 3, and he bright!! (and really cute too.)

  • @rensyg Yes, I am sure. He was diagnosed by a speech clinician. Many children with verbal apraxia are very bright and very cute ;-)

  • @rensyg Speech Araxia does NOT mean a child isn't bright!!!

  • @afroindia42 Your right by son has severe apraxia of speech and is very bright! I definately have seen a difference in giving my son fish oil tablets, whether it is the fish oil or his development... no one can measure. But definately worth the try.. anything for our kids ae!

  • He's talking so well! My son is 3, severe Apraxia, and has been taking the NourishLife speak nutrients for the last 3 months. The difference is like night & day (even though he's still only about 10% intelligible). Fish Oil is definitely a wonder supplement!!

  • This is wonderful. We have two kitties too!

  • And your son is very beautiful and very smart and talking great.

  • YES fish oil makes a big difference!

  • Whitebuffalo what is with you why would you write haha fail on a video of a ladies child, not very nice of you. Instead of writing mean stuff like haha fail on the moms video for her son. Why not write something nice to the mom about her son. How is me calling this ladies son gorgeous and then talking about my own child got anything to do with me not leavign this poor lady alone.

  • I keep hearing all this stuff about fish oil. My son has a speech disorder. it hasn't been diagnosed officially as apaxia but i would be a million dollars he has it. He's three and a half and i wish he said a quarter of what owen says. Does fish oil really make that big of a difference?

  • i'm not sure which country you're in, but in england i'd recommend you try and get an early years specialist teacher to see him and they may refer to an educational psychologist (they're called school psychologists in the states). good luck.

  • How gorgeous is he!

  • What an adorable and bright boy. Thanks for this video, i want to be a speech-language pathologist and this video makes me happy because i know that even though it will be hard and sometimes very slow and frustrating i will be helping kids like Owen every day =D

  • Oh, he is PRECIOUS!!! And fish oil really is amazing - I have a few students who I can actually understand this year thanks to fish oil!

  • He is adorable. My son (20m) was diagnosed with apraxia today so I'm googling away and found your video. I will try the fish oils as well. Thanks.

  • Good Luck!

  • That is a beautiful child.

  • He has stolen my heart!!!

    ADORABLE!!!

  • Hi. I am not sure if it would help or not, but it wont hurt so it is worth a try. I would start at a higher dosage, maybe 2000 mg, and work up to about 6000 mg. Take a high quality brand, like Vital Choice, Nordic Naturals, or Carlsons. All of those are sold online, just google them and then order on their websites. Good luck!

  • What kind of fish oil is your son taking? my daughter is 24 months old and doesn't speak. although I cannot get ECI to help me as of yet (they blow me off because she has met all other mile stones) I feel very strongly she might have this disorder.

  • He is just the happiest child ever that is just adorable!

  • oh, he is so cute!

So, how does this fish oil work?.. My 33 month old has a speech delay, would it help him?

I'm interested in trying this since it's getting really frustrating for both me and my son that we can't communicate as well as we should.

  • i have two titties lol

  • I think from my prespective, when your that age and trying to get your parents to hear your say bikes is very hard + frustrating for the child -

was he saying bikes? thats what i thought he said the first time he said it, bikes at ikea - i know over here, you can get bikes in ikea so..!

  • He's so funny and cute!

  • cute kid....So this fish oil stuff? what does it do?

  • Fish oil is an essential fatty acid, or omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. Most people are deficient in essential fatty acids as we don't eat enough fish and things like humans used to. Everyone should be taking EFA's. Some people need them more than others. They help the brain, and many other things in our body.

  • i have exams soon, would they make my brain function betta?

  • My son was making NO strides with therapy until I started him on Nordic Naturals Omega 369.

He LITERALLY started speaking understandably over night. His therapist was utterly SHOCKED.

    It was amazing

  • Oh wow!!! My son will be 3 in October and hasn't been officially diagnosed with Apraxia, but his speech therapist has mentioned it. I had been giving him fish oil for asthma, but I haven't been good about doing it regularly. I'm going to start being better about it now after seeing your beautiful son! Thank you for posting!

  • I wanted to add that my daughter took the pills with no problem. there's a children specific supplement that tastes fruity. At some point she no longer liked the texture of the gelcaps so we went to the straight liquid which I add to a small cup of grape juice (just enough to insure she gets it all). This juice is very sweet and it masks the flavor fabulously!

  • by the way, the fish oil [DHA supplement] worked for my daughter, too. I noticed a huge difference after the first few months. Now that she's been in ST for 2 years she is talking in full sentences and met almost all of her SLP's goals for her. I work with her everyday in play and we have a sit down session, too.

  • cool he talks good
