This is one of my favourite Kings X tracks. I know Ty Tabor uses de-tuned and baritone guitars but the low note he plays at the start of the solo brought a broad smile to my face. What a guitarist, what a band!
it's a shame when "christians" use the word hate Kkrouton I am a christian and we should leave the judgeing up to God it's His, and i have loved kings x from the very beginning and i have watched first hand some of doug's struggles to conform, leave his relationship with God between him and God and just listen to one of the best vocalists of all time...God bless
I love Ty's vocals. Very unique Lennonish sound. And he writes some of the best tunes in and out of King's X. Add that he's a stellar guitarist with a unique tone and the whole package is there. (I love Dug and Jerry too)
King's X should be the official musical act for Everything. SuperBowl. Olympics. New Years....and Blessings of temples, in all denominations. Bar mitzvahs. Raves.
Best song from "Bulbous." Wish they still did it live. Love it. BTW- not all of us abandoned the band when Dug "came out." Brothers love brothers unconditionally. All else is worthless self-righteousness.
"I took your brother to the zoo/The sky was falling and he seemed to know it too/He turned to me and said what a waste/And I said 'some day you'll know it if you ever get the taste..." (No idea what Ty is talking about, but it's brilliant!)
It sucks that a lot of their fans abandoned them after Doug came out of the closet. I think that most of them were Christians who thought that King's X was a "Christian" band. They aren't and never were. They were just a rock band whose members happened to be Christians. Oh well. Fuck 'em. It's their loss.
@Kkrouton I agree, that is one of the biggest flaws in christianity very judgemental, very closed minded and with that deprive themselves of any true art or experience in life. to quote Doug Stanhope "Live by your sins"
I work at this HOB and was there for the show (did not work it that night, had to be in the crowd), My fav rock band by far and extremely underrated.dUg is an amzing vocalist.
A friend of mine showed me an album of kings x nearly 7 years ago. A great band and a kind of secret tip at that time. I don't know whether they have become more famous today.
Anyboby know if they have plans for future tours? I know that last year while touring with Extreme they stopped when
Extreme contiued ther tour overseas.
During that time the price of fuel was over
$4.00/gal. It was rumered at the time that this could be the end of the band do to economics. It was costing nearly $1000.00 to fill the tour bus. I hope that with the lower fuel cost they will be back on the road. I would gladly pay more in ticket prices to see them!!
These guys are so talented! Give it up for Jerry, huh? He's not real flashy, but look at some of the stuff he plays and the intensity, plus the vocals!! One of my favorite bands to see live.
say what you want about latter era KX, but each of their last albums has had at least 3 or 4 excellent songs, and their last 2 albums are some of the best work they've ever done
I've been googling and youtubing about this guys whole day.. I like the softer songs (like this one) a bit more. Shame I haven't heard of them before anyway.
I was there!!!!
