This is definitely from the TBF era, not the 1979-81 era. Do you honestly think Perry's voice sounded like this on ANY album? He was playing around. Sure, his voice was deeper in 1995-96, but he's just playing around with falsetto and stuff.

In response to questions about the source of this clip, I just found it. This was taken while Steve, Jon Cain and Neal Schon were in a studio waiting to be interviewed by various radio stations after completing the Trial By Fire album (1996.) It is just part of a longer tape in which the guys are interviewed by a half dozen radio stations.

I'm not sure. It was posted as being around the Trial by Fire era but I would guess the mid-90s by the sound of Steve's voice. Maybe someone out there will know, or be able to date the song??

I can tell by his voice it is from the EARLY 80's, not the 1990's. Steve's voice was already lower and raspier by then. I don't know of course, but my guess is 1979-81.
