  • I've just inspired by this style of accordion music and I'm having a hard time finding more of it. Is there some term to describe the style?

The best way to summarize my love for it is this:

It's amazing accordion playing and it's not polka. I like polka, but it seems a shame to limit the accordion to that genre. It'd be like restricting the oboe to comedic tunes only.

  • It is 'diatonic accordion/melodeon' music. Button accordion, button box etc. Self composed, instrumental tune. Slow waltz with emotion.

  • Kay...I am just getting caught up with your videos. Great tune...may your creative 'music well' never run dry!

  • Did you sell your soul to the devil? Is that how you compose all these exquisite tunes on a diatonic box?

  • wow, that's a great tune. really a great tune.

  • Thanks! I'm glad you like it.

  • How beautiful. Thank you for all of your videos, they are fantastic! I really appreciate your unique compositions. Thank you!

  • Thank you arcticadet. What a nice comment. It's surely appreciated.

  • Thank you for composing such wonderful tunes.

  • Dear friend! Im very happy that you took contact with me. I love your music. Thanks

  • Hello Lovely Kadri! Thanks for your sweet comment!

  • This is another great tune. I think you are the best player in Austin, in Texas - hell Babe, worldwide!

  • Sweet sweet Folkiekay. You compose so many beautiful tunes. I would like to meet you someday. Thanks for posting.

  • I keep coming back to this tune. It's Saturday morning and I've just had my two cups of coffee and now it is time to learn it.

  • Like I said before, you have a new fan Folkiekay! Your tunes are exquisite. Thanks for posting your own music. I sent an email to you on your street squeeze website. I have a big favor to ask you, and I'm hoping you say yes.

  • Thanky you Folkiekay for posting the tablature for this tune on your website. It is a bloody good tune and I can hardly wait to play it.

  • Beautiful song Folkiekay and a beautiful squeezebox too.

  • I love it!

  • I don't know how you come up with all these great tunes. I keep coming back for more! Thanks for posting all of them. Waiting for more.

  • Thanks all for the kind comments.

  • I crown you queen of the two row. You play so beautifully, Folkiekay. Thank you for posting.

  • Beautiful tune Kay!

  • You have outdone yourself again Folkiekay. This one is like a rose in bloom. Bravo.

  • My squeezebox is wet too folkiekay. Can't stand a dry squeezebox! Nice tune.

  • Exquisite playing Folkiekay on an exquisite box! You got it going on girl!

  • Nice tune. It is sort of sad and happy sounding at the same time. Maybe Chris is not only gentle, but happy and sad. A friend told me to check out your videos. Glad I did.

  • Brilliant! Both your Hyde melodeons are beautiful!

  • I agree. Thanks!

  • Pretty tune. Your accordion is very pretty too.

  • Thank you very much!

  • Another awesome tune!

  • Thanks!

  • Mr. Footslip has beat me to employment as your gardener. Awesome tune Folkiekay!

  • Thanks peterplonk!

  • I checked out your website for this tune. I like your playing style. It's not like anything else I've seen on YouTube. Maybe I could be your second boyfriend next to threerow. Oh, I see you don't need a boyfriend. Maybe I could be your gardener. Or your houseboy. Do you ever go to any festivals in France where I might run into you one of these sunny days?

    John

  • Thank you John. You've very kind. I haven't yet gotten the opportunity to go to any festivals in France. I look forward to doing that one day - maybe in a couple of years after I retire from my day job.

  • Beautiful tune. Your melodeon is nice looking. Looks well made. It looks bigger than the other Hyde melodeon. Is it?

  • Thank you Melodeonboy. Yes it is bigger - quite a bit. It's more the size of a Hohner Erica I believe. The other is called a 3/4 size box. He makes one smaller that that one too. This one has 3 reeds and stops so I can choose one, two, or three reeds. Also stops on the bass side for the thirds and the low reed.

  • Brilliant Kay,,another great tune you composed

  • Thank you John!

  • You continue to astound and amaze me! Let me know if you need a boyfriend.

  • I'm happy to amaze you, but I don't need a boyfriend..<smile> Thanks!

  • Awesome! Another beautiful one Kay. I eagerly await your videos!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks Zoe -
