  • anyone ever found the sailor moon easter egg in this level?

  • 4:45 Why does the death message say "Arnald" instead of "Arnold" (Schwarzenegger)? A mistake or some pun?

  • @thomas489 It's a reference to Terminator 2, where the Terminator is lowered into a pit of molten steel. As he descendes, he gives a thumbs up. He said "Arnald" because he was parodying Schwarzenegger's accent.

  • Damn torin do you not know how to run? or atleast speed walk? XD haha

  • 9:47. Torin, the Man of Steel!

  • 9:46 HEADSHOT

  • indiana jones reference, terminator ending reference, lmao

  • @AimingFist Well... the indiana jones reference was kinda a brute fuck you from

Sierra to Lucasarts, Did the two companies really hated each other ?

  • What is he wearing high-heels???????? God that noise is so bad!!!

  • Great game! Loving the videos so far. This is my least favorite part of the game though :(

  • The crystals are so reminiscent of The Dig.

  • I have the cure for the maze in this game: just put the walking speed on maximum and press forward ALOT

  • Bryan Wilkinson said in his FAQ that he put a sailor moon easter egg in the Asthenia level, but that it is really hard to trigger because you have to know just where to step. Have you been able to trigger it?

  • 0:55 hahahah i love this game

  • What I don't get is how you triggered the Indiana Jones Easter Egg. I've gotten it exactly *once* playing this game, and I've no idea how to reproduce it.

  • It's happened quite a bit to me when I've played, although not every time. I don't believe that there is a particular trigger for it. I think I just got lucky when I recorded this video.

  • This maze drove me nuts. Really. It was much worse than the phenocryst singers... :-)

  • DREEP! :D

  • I love this game I lost my disc though :(

  • You`re not alone! I played though this, many times hahha. No life.

  • The insomniac maze! That put me right to sleep! Torin should have collapsed from walking through that maze!

  • Well if the mazes bore ya, then we can play a game. How many footsteps does torin take thrue out all of the mazes in this land?

  • This game would quite possibly drive me insane. I wonder how many different types of footsteps the sound editors used... ?

  • Sounds like that lady is choking at 9:04-9:07.

  • She is. That's what that thing around her neck does.

  • When Torin falls in the lava, was that referencing the scene in Terminator 2 when Arni gives the thumbs up as he dissapears into the lava.....

Indiana Jones made a surprise appearance!! Not so good with that whip though, because he fell into the lava!

  • The sounds the crystals make when Torin puts them in the hole sounds like defibrilator shock paddles charging before shocking someone.

  • Hahah! I loved the random appearance of Indianna Jones and the "Torin continues unconcerned." XD Gotta love how the characters barely react to these kinda easter eggs, random as they may be. :P (like the infamous Batmobile in King's Quest 2 :P)

Love these videos, and I look forward to seeing the rest once you got them posted up.

  • These videos are incredible man! keep the good work, it's amazing how the memories flow back! thanks for taking the time to do this!

  • Glad you're enjoying it; my deadlines continue to elude me, but I should be able to get another video up this weekend, along with another nice surprise.

  • Comment removed

  • where's the next one

  • lol easter egg indie XD

  • Heh, this scenery in the lava planet DOES kinda look like it came from Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis.

    Can't wait to see more.

  • Thanks; I've recorded the latest video, so I should have it up this weekend (in time for Valentine's Day!).

  • i would like to thank you also for your videos, very fun. I found this game now again, after so many years...

  • keep working on the videos! I can't wait for the next one.

  • I'll get one up this weekend; now that I'm done with Asthenia, the videos should go faster (since there was absolutely no one to talk to in Asthenia...so boring).

  • If you didn't see... The shot begining at 9:32, with Dreep and Lycentia... You can see Darth Vader and Yoda frozen in crystal thing... Wow i guess they really liked George Lucas Films... :P

  • :D Nice point, CarsDot22. Actually, there will be an even better shot near the end of the game (for those of you who can't see either of those Star Wars characters)

  • Ya lol... that's like the only thing that i remember from when the game origanally came out. Isn't that pathetic :P Cuz i was like 4 or 5 when i "played it" lol

  • I DOn't Get how that crystal puzzle works... like the pattern thing.. I was a little lost during it :P

  • Each crystal has an angle displayed on it, right? When the beam of light hits a crystal, it will bend at the angle displayed on the crystal. I wasn't really doing a good job of solving the puzzle, but if you look at the beam of light, it makes sense.

  • Lol thanks... it kinda makes more sence now... I guess because the first time that i watched it was like 3 in the morning :P lol

  • Woah, dude; don't stay up so late watching these! Moderation, please.

  • LOL Im sorry... but there soooo addictive, i cant stop. Thanks a lot :P

  • Vay to go AH-Nald.....

That there's a nice reference to Terminator 2.

How old was this game, wasn't it made in like 1994-95? because I remember around the time it was made, T2 was still very popular.

  • It was made in 1994, and I don't know what you're talking about: T2 is still extremely popular (otherwise there would be no precedent for the second sequel coming out this year!).

  • Man i love this game how can i get it on vista ? if i cant i need to get a comp with 98 but then i could use all my old games again

  • Download the torrent if you don't want to use the disc. You don't need DosBox either. You also need to run it in Windows Basic 32 or 16 color mode (one of those). If you like I can message you on how to set it up.

  • Thank you i think i can get it set up now =)

  • Just for your information, when I record these videos, I've been using the built-in recorder in Dosbox, along with D-Fend Reloaded (a helpful frontend to help you deal with Dosbox language).

The dos version of Torin's Passage is indistinguishable from the Windows version in every respect.

  • great ! loves this game :D

  • Were the designers of this game Lucasarts refugees? I was under the impression that this was a Sierra game, which can get pretty referential at times. But here all the references seem to be tongue-in-cheek jabs at the competition instead.
