  • Satanic verses by Salman Rusdie

    or the kite runner?

  • kite runner tells the truth about afghanistan

thats how pashtoons treat people they rape people they kill them

    now the whole world knows

  • Awesome video! I now watch it with the sound track Friends (by Rebecca)

  • i loved this video!

Wish youtube didn't delete it, there we lost a good video

  • forget it, i found it :D

  • what's the name of the song?

  • very sad !

  • argh! damn copyright.

I saw this video with the music to before the copyright was put on. It is really, really fantastic. Well done! It made me cry

  • I didn't even notice that. What the hell. Is youtube really going to go through all the videos that use copyrighted songs and take out the audio. Goodbye to half the videos on youtube.

  • splendido

  • the book was such a masterpiece! I really cried. I love the book and I can't wait to see the movie.

  • i finished the book last nite and it moved me to tears. I cannot wait to see the movie.

  • im studying this book for AS levels...extroardinary novel. Hassans position and personality is simply adorable. He is full of pride and strength even after all he has gone through. Amir...matures eventually.

  • love dis moviee n boook

    makes u cry

  • did hassan know that he and Amir was half brothers?

  • No he didn't!

  • that's bad and sad :(

  • hassan did not find out in the movie, but he did in the book

  • no, he never knew.

  • i read the book andd watched the movie it made me cry, the story is sad but at the same time meaning full. good vid

  • the movie was one of the best movies i've seen in a while. it had me bursting into tears at the end.

  • whats the name of the movie in about 0:45

    please it`s important!!!!

  • good job! what a great movie:O

  • I`ve just finished rading the book a fiew houres ago and it moved me to tears. I don`t know about the movie(I can`t wait to see it) but the book is a must read.

  • How did you get this movie without subtitles?

  • for the parts that had subtitles i had to zoom in on the top part of the shot. that is why some of the shots seem to be weirdly close up or the people in it are cut off a little.

  • Aww okay thanks. That's what I'm going to end up doing then lol.

  • hey did you guys know that i am form Afghan so you shouid be nice to me ☺☻ i mean it

  • omg this book is awsome!!! luv this video 2!!

  • fantastic movie.

    well done. [:

all of you who haven't seen the real movie or read the book, you need to.

there IS another side to afghanistan, a side our government and the media keeps from us.

    there IS innocence out there.

  • omg i love this book/movie! it was one the rare movies that did justice to the book =] i already read the book twice and am now reading it again for my english class i dont mind though i love it! =] and the other book by Hosseini "A Thousand Spenldid Suns" that one is just as good =D

  • someone knows what song is the one that appears in the scene were they are in the bar

  • what's it about?

  • what is the song called awesome, im reading the book in my english class and awesome so far :D

  • eney one no name of song

  • what's the name from this great song??

  • Black Balloon, Goo Goo Dolls

  • Waahh! Having read the book, just watching the preview of this movie made me depressed.

  • Real friendship! That´s what it is!!!

  • I really think that this movie is a peace of crpa compared to the book. The movie has not half as much power as the book. The beating of Amir... in the book he uses steel bar knuckles and almost beat him to death...

  • I am from Afghanistan and I'm porud. It was an awsome free country then. Kids would jump off roofs and run around. Sometimes they wouldn't even know where they were going and didn't care. Much more free than America

  • toxicrainbow2345, in your profile you say you're from Italy. Make up your mind.

  • great vid! I love this film..

  • Great movie!

  • this is the best book and movie ever! everyone should read it first then watch it! it's a must read!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I would love to see this film!

  • älskar den filmen riktigt bra <3

  • since im starting to read this book i mihgt as well see the movie it was really sad and sick when the boy got rape..im really..i dont know wat to say PERIOD. The big guy is a bastard.

  • I've seen Afghani kids give beat downs to other kids like ghetto thugs in that country, and sometimes the other kids got right back up and dished out the same, so the beating hardly surprised me. But it was the rape scene I that disturbed me. God! That bigger kid was a born taliban!

  • Rape scene if i say the truth its gona be hurt full and hursh so i am gona say nothing and may be u understand wht i meant by that

  • No, I'd have to say whatever you meant about the rape scene went right over my head. Do you mean that this sort of thing happens more often than we'd expect? And you're not saying it because it's hurtful to those who do it, or those it's been done to? I've only seen scuffles in the streets from a Humvee turret. Our interpreter broke them up; chased the brats away.

  • Rape Seen i dont think that some one can rape another person in front of ppls i dont belive it but if u say so and by the way when u were watching this why didnt u stop it may be cuz they were pushtuns and they were muslims thats why may be u let that happened cuz u dont give a dam fuck about them or may be u were scared of getting out of ur hamvee may be thats wht it is am i right ?

  • The rape scene I'm talking about is the one in the movie. I didn't see any rapes when I was there. All I saw were kids fighting. And no, I wasn't scared to get out; I was ordered to stay in the turret in case we were attacked.

  • Oh i never watched this movie and will never do cuz this agaisnt pushtuns. Cuz the writer is not pushtun and they just hate pushtuns

  • You should know that most of us don't really notice if they are pashtun or not. It's all Afghanistan to us.

  • to u it is but to us its not cuz they are cowards and slaves while pushtuns are not

  • lawany007 this book is not against pushtuns juss because amir is a pushtun and he makes a mistake in the story doesnt mean Hosseini is against pushtuns. its just a book, get over the social/religious differences already

  • One mistake is good enough pushtoons are suffereing enough and now this kind of mistake wow nice get over it lol u are funny

  • I did not even understand that he was raped. I knew he was hurt, but not raped.

  • Is this what you gather from this video, or did you watch the whole movie?

  • I watched the whole film at school

  • The bigger kid undoing his pants beforehand and the dripping blood on the snow afterward was sort of an indicator.

Hey, I recommend another book I read a few years ago called "The Bookseller of Kabul". I can't remember the author's name, but I think she was either Norwegian or Swedish. It's another eye opener.

  • I have red it. ;) It was Norwegian, I think. Haha.

  • love the vid so beautiful, the book is awesome!!...and as for you lawany007 its a book! just a book..ok sweetie? so take all of ur comments, make them into a nice ball and stick them up ur ASS!!!! :) to the rest of yall have a nice day ^^

  • yeah i can see that how much u loved this movie but i have one thing to say how about i shove these comments up ur ass how bout that or may be i will make a nice ball and stick them up ur ass how bout that cuz u just love ball so i think i will do that lol

  • and fuck you lawany007 =]

  • and fuck those who like this movie and fuck those who read the book typical pushtoon haters but remember this kind of propaganda agaisnt pushtoon nation is not gona work u need to know that and no will be able to get a controle of pushtoons and we dont need some one to sympathise for us pushtoon cuz we were born worirriers and we were born with honours not bastered and not coward like hazara, farsi and uzbak long live pushtoon live awghanistan long live pushtoonistan

  • It's a shame you weren't born with a built in spell check because no one can understand what you're writing.

  • dum ass thats why u are pissed off cuz u can understand wht i am writing lol u fucking stupid fuck

  • lawany007, it might be useful for you to know that nobody outside of Afghanistan, or Pakistan, or Iran even CARES about the ethnic hatred pashtuns like you might have with various tajikis, uzbekis, hazaras, or persians. NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU THINK OF THEM!!! More than half of us don't even KNOW about it! If you leave Afghanistan, you'd better leave your hatred in Afghanistan!

  • Quartuvlarry, just for ur info i am not in afghanistan and i am born on the border so i am pakistani too and i am afghni too and i care cuz people are dying like animals and the so called humen rights and the writers and intellectual can see only kite runner. u cant see every day on televission that how many pushtoons are dying daily basis and after all this killings and pushtoon genocide the world is calling them talibans hahahah crazy this is really sad but any u dont have to care thanx

  • Kite runner lol human rights wht a joke lol i am laughing at the writer of this book he is really stupid cuz wht i see he is the pushtoon hater like the rest of the world so fuck this book fuck this movie and fuck this writer

  • Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought Assef was blond according to the book. ?

  • Yes, he is-in the book-. you are absolutely right. However, he is not in the movie, which is a shame.

  • wow this video is beautiful . i've just read the book and now i want to watch the movie.

i almost started crying when i watched your video . great job .

  • The film is wonderfol, i reed the book to. It's awsome.<3

  • Wats the song name?

  • i've only seen the film, for anyone who has read the novel, would you recommend it?

  • If you liked the film or thought it was at least ok, you should read the book. I read the book before I saw the movie and it was amazing - much better than the movie in my opinion.

  • @matnsas Hey matnsas, I was wondering If I could do something. I had watched this video before the music copyright was removed and it instantly became my (one of my) favorite videos on youtube and I even discovered the song after watching this. I remember it was fantastically put together and it made my cry.i feel that its such a shame that the music has been removed. So I was wondering whether I could reupload it with music giving full credits and copyright to you?

  • @matnsas I'll give you full and complete credit, I just want to give this video another chance on youtube because I know you won't be able to reupload it without having your account threatened to be deleted. So would you mind if i do that?

  • @ganrella7908 i just finished the book. it is HEAVY material, very sad, and brutal...

there is some content which may be disturbing. But, the book is beautifully written, lyrical, and it's great... Khaled Hossieini is an amazing author.

  • @ganrella7908 I would definitely recommend the novel. It is very sad and very happy. The movie is ok compared to the novel.

  • THANK YOU for this video.

    I love Khalid Abdallah..awesome actor

  • this is just against pashtoons

    fuckin persian bastard

  • I love this film and this video is very nice

  • very good video, 5/5!

  • it was an amazing movie.I cried =[ it was sad 2

  • This movie is simply about unusual generosity, honesty and compassion between two people...its amazing.

  • I love this novel. It beautifully portrays the terrible sweep of history.

  • can you say why?

  • no id did not suck k

  • just finished the book..it was amazing...very touching...

  • Wow...this video...what an amazing portrayal of the book. I cried while reading the book, and this made me cry all over again. Just wow.

  • he showed that Hazaras were oppressed people in Afghanistan but in wrong way! and most of all he's Shia and raised in Iran so what would be the topic of his book/movie??? u guys can guess it blindly

  • this movie was nothing!the writer just wanted attention and prais of WEST people who dont know the reality like many afghans living in foreign countries dont know, and he could get that through this movie showing talibans and stuff.

1> pashtun guys didnt/dont hate hazaras in afghanistan like they showed.

2> taliban? what the heck was the talib's role in this movie? just to show that they were homo-sexual?

taliban are/were the dark side of AFG's history but what they showed doesnt click

  • awe-inspiring. sensational. i've read the book. sad story.

  • and also many people r asking if this is based on a real story..i dunt think it is but this stuff happened to many hazara people before. they get discriminated just because they are from a different part of afghanistan. when i went to afghanistan in the summer about 3 yrs ago..kids used to team up on little hazara kids making fun of them, hitting them.i felt so sorry. why is there a barrier between hazara's and the oder ppl of afghaistan. its realy sad to think about.

  • i think this is one of the best movies ever made althogh i only read the book. when i got to half of the book..there were so many things that made me cry. i dont read that many book but this is the only book i read till the end because it was so good. khalid hossieni did a great job on making this book. hats of to him

  • i loved this video and I simply adore the book...I hope to see the movie soon.

  • Please tell me what's the title of this beautiful song

    :-)

  • The Goo Goo Dolls - Black Balloon

  • my kaka khalid is a very great guy... an hope fully ders gonna b lots of new stories.. ive made a few stories if anyone wants to read dem feel free.

  • Just finished reading the book, absolutely sensational,Heartbreaking, Jaw Dropping, Smile raising but most of all the way you feel like you are in Amir's mind. Great Book

  • The Kite Runner is the best book I've ever read, and you did a fantastic job on making this video =)

  • dying to see the movie !

    the book, was insane good.

  • read 1000 splendid suns by khaled also its real good

  • haha, yeah that books going to be on my "read before i die" list (:

  • :) wierdo

  • awesome job on the video!

  • Trully speaking I haven't read and I haven't wATCHED SUCH A STORY FOR A LONG TIME!! Thanks to Khaled Hosseini and Marc Foster for doing it!!!

  • Highly recommended. Tears at your heart though.

  • in the book the author describes hassans' smile as the most honest smile ever, hassan in the movie really does that smile justice- he makes the whole world smile with his smile:) such a sweetheart!

  • brilliant! i loved the book and the movie so much. 5/5

  • Blood dropping on snow made me almost lose my breath shocked watching the movie, haven't read the book yet but plan to, it was very sad and touching story. Felt very bad for Hassan.

  • is it a true story? have all this happened or is it all made up?

  • No, it isn't a true story. When I first read the book I thought it was a memoir, but by the time I got to the end I thought "there is no way this could be true" - the plot was just too perfect (bumping into assef again, etc.). Plus the author is not named Amir. But, what can I say... I'm a little slow! :)

  • aha

i thought the same exact thing too !

    =]

  • the best movie and book ever made.

  • The Best Movie ever made

nice one and the book that was an incredible story

  • who sing this song?????? i wanna have it! and what the name of the song!!!

  • This is "Black Balloon" by the Goo Goo Dolls

  • this is one of the best movies i've ever seen... i'd recommend it

  • Ye me too

  • this made me cry.

  • The book is incredible

  • Por você eu faria isso mil vezes!

  • I bought the dvd 2 days ago and i have seen it about 10 times. Everytime i made me cry.I love the movie. One Of The Best i have ever seen. Great choise for the song! Great Video! Khalid Abdalla great & hot actor !

  • The book was so amazing, I read it all in less than 5 days, now I'm hoping I'll get to watch the movie soon. Hopefully its as good as the book

  • amazing!

  • I saw this movie with an Afghan friend of mine, so during this good and catching movie I also got a history lesson

  • never saw the movie

    but the book wuz amazing

  • I have watched movies that have made me cry, but I literally sobbed during "The Kite Runner" which I watched for the first time yesterday. Even this video has brought me to tears! I never thought that a Goo Goo Dolls song would compliment such a brilliant film, but it is surprisingly effective. Well done my friend.

  • anyone know the name of the song and who its by?

  • "Black Balloon" by the Goo Goo Dolls

  • Go Buffalo!!

  • I cried like crazy at this movie

  • its the best movie i hav seen to date. so original

  • absolutely amazing humanity that Khaled Hosseini captured....incredible.

  • i cried when i watched this movie....i watched it yesterday. it was one of the saddes/best movies ever!!!! they boys who played amir and hassan were so cute and they were such good actors!!

  • Oh, I love the two children that play the roles of Amir and Hassan...I love this story.

  • *CRIES*

  • if anything i dont hate any if the characters in the book...all amazing...amir, baba, ali, sohrab, rahim khan and mostly hassan...amir was just a child...he was only a human as was his father...

  • omg his little innocent and cute face just made me cry. i cant even read the book or watch the movie coz i know wots gonna happen!

  • The book creates more suspense, read it. It's better than the movie, the movie was just a visual display of the book, which was well done, however, the suspense in the movie compared to the book is nothing.

  • Assef deserved worse.

  • The story is so moving. Nothing less. I cried when Amir said "for you a thousand times over" at the end... Though I hate Amir for what he had done, but at the end, well... I don't know. IT's just sad..

  • Brilliant book, brilliant movie. Period.

  • i felt soo bad for Hassan...he was such a good boy! he didnt deserve anything that came his way like the rape & worst of all his death! i also felt so bad 4 his son! He was a little slave & who knows how those men trated him! i cried through out this entire movie & i plan to read the book

    awesome vid...5 starz

  • the book is better its my favorite

  • the book is sooo nice... it made me cry..khaled hosseni is one of the best writer..im now a fan of yours..

  • I concur with adashi101..I've read it and seen the movie..the movie just doesn't compare.

It's a brilliant tale and maybe what makes it so tragic is how real it seems..

  • Just know I finished reading the book and immediatly logged on find out more from this author. I don't have words to describe this moving novel. this trailer may be good but I won't watch the movie as chances where some might have over/under done it. People like hassan are a rare find and in some way I liked Rahim's scheme. I literally wept when I read the stonning in the stadium part. I pray even my worst enemy shouldn't face such a horrid thing.

  • What is the title of the song in this video?

  • Black Balloon by the Goo Goo Dolls

  • I feel really sorry for Hassan

  • I don't know why I love the book so much, it was sad all the time and when hussain died, I hated the book and I hated that khaled ''killed'' the nicest person in the book. I hated Hussain because he could be saved if he gave the house, he knew the taliban wolud take it anyway. Hussain didn't think about his familie. and that was the most sad in the hole book. still it's the most real book i have read..

  • when i read the book i was so angry at amir, how could he do what he did to hussain? It was to bad. I think khaled did the book too sad. it 1-2 months ago i read the book and still i same time think obout it and it makes me cry..

  • As soon as that truck entered the massive stadium, I had a feeling it was asef! When Amir met him again, in his home, and Asef took off his glasses I freaked out! His eyes were super scary. I can't believe Amir didn't come to Hassan's aid - that was so horrible and he was soo faithful to Amir, never gave up the kite or anything - I wish I was as good as that to my friends.

    CRY!!!

  • Wow, you did a fantastic job on the video! I burst into tears in the section of the movie when the guy who looks after the orphans tells the amir that he gave up everything to look after the children - how if he doesn't give one away one child they take ten! Hassan was so faithful to Amir, it made me think of how I should take nothing for granted! My heart dropped when Amir was told that Hassan was closer related to him than he thought! Certainly a water works movie, and an eye opener. CRY!!!

  • Everybody who loved the Kite Runner should get A thousand splendid suns--it was even better to me. I was unable to put it down and what I read stayed with me for a long time. It made me sad and angry at the same time.Angry because greed and hatred destroy what is so precious-life and love. The book left me in tears when I put it down since it so hard what those two women have to endure.

  • Who is the author for "A thousand Splendid Suns"???

  • Khaled Hosseini

  • Intolerant people like you shouldn't post at all.Good everybody has the right to express his/her opinion but do you really think anybody gives a sh** about what you said?

The book is great in so many ways and the movie should capture the gist of it.

The rape is an important part in the book, thats why it appears in the movie as well.

  • hossseini

  • you're a fucking idiot. maybe once you learn how to spell "sex" correctly can you have a say about this film. i mean shit, your profile name is pinkman. that right there proves you yourself wouldnt mind getting it up the ass.

  • Hassan is the best.. I love the book..

  • the book was emotional especially when amir watched when hassan got raped by asef , amir was a bitch

  • with out any spoilers is the ending in the movie the same as the ending in the book????

  • the ending is for the most part the same but what happens in between Amir getting Sohrab from Assef and then going back to the US is missing. a.k.a. the adoption troubles. i read the book a while ago, so i may be a little off. the very end is the same though, the whole "a thousand times over" thing. hope i helped.

  • the book is perfect

  • i loved the book but im not sure why i loved it... it was just one dissapointment after another and the end of the book did't give alot of closure

  • movie isn't as gud as the book

  • The Book Is Always Way Better =]

  • "There is a way to be good again!" I love this!!

  • Assef was different in the book! I really wanna see the movie. The book was just sooo sad but a brilliant read.

  • I know but I think it would have been too much to swallow for viewers most of whom won't read the book if the one who played Assef was a half German blue eyed blonde Assef who is fond of Nazi ideology as well as a staunch proponent of Pashtun superiority. It was easier to simply capture the sneakiness and twistedness that was associated with his character in the form of a pure Pashtun boy in a 2 hour film.
