  • type this in on youtube search, buakaw por pramuk by fabio urameshi

  • K1 judges are without question corrupt, and this can be seen in many fight decisions... but this doesnt mean Masato is a bad fighter. Clinch being eliminated was to level grounds between Nak Muay and kickboxers, since it is not used in kickboxing so much. If that is biased then fine, it is your opinion, but after all it is entertainment. Everyone loves to see close fights between great fighters. And also it doesn't take anything away from the fact that Masato is a great fighter

  • damn, I will miss him!!!

One of the best, he is the best for me! Nobody got better fists then him, I hope to fight also in k-1 max once a day.

And shun go on!!! These videos are nice work, thank you for that ;) Chris

  • masato good fighter but to be the best u will need many years!!!!

  • barely outmatched him? Masato was faster, landed more, out boxed him and landed more. Masato beat Buakaw convincingly hands down. No need for excuses from any fighter, both are 2 of the best of the best.

  • Buakaw is a beast even with K-1 fighting rules if this was muay thai rules it be over..in 2007 Masato barely outmatched him in boxing n still couldnt knock him out...

  • you made a good point cruelgrotequeblood to my last comment. i would still like to sid kid fight urijah tho. who do u think would win. anyone?

  • masato.. the kickboxer =)

  • if the fight ever happens between urijah faber and kid yamamoto i think urijah would win. he's more technical standing up and better versd on the ground. kid yamamoto is like more like the melvin manhoeff type. he's got skill and is a very good fighter but over all i think urijah has the more

  • Kid Yamamoto's background is wrestling while Manhoef's is kickboxing. Kid Yamamoto's weapon is his punch and unlike Manhoef, it's a lot more unorthodox and more of a counter striker rather than a aggressive brawler/inside fighter like Manhoef. You're just linking the two together just because they're both short for their weight class and prefers powerful strikes.

  • it would be nice with english sub

  • Buakaw lost to a kick boxing match rule. But if it were muaythai rule i think he'll kick any k1 fighter ass big time.

  • Masato actually knocked out and TKO'd top Muay Thai fighters and Muay Thai champion under a Muay Thai rule by a punch and a leg kick. Muay Thai or K-1, they're both still stand-up and they don't make huge differences like the MMA.

  • masato has fight 2 times in thailand 1 loss 1 win so nothing special

  • Yeah, that was when he was very young and when he just started out. I'm talking mostly about his later career when he faced Muay Thai champions like Melchor Menor and other top Muay Thai fighters and have won in Muay Thai rules.

Masato's fights in Thailand really wasn't that special. It's like his amateur days right? Or was it? I don't remember but that's not what I'm talking about.

  • For those two fights he was fighting as a pro, but as you said he was very young.

The second one (which he lost) was against a very highly ranked southpaw (who went on to win a bronze medal at the olympic games).

Masato had been expecting to fight an orthodox fighter (but the match-up was changed at the last minute due to fears that the original opponent had hepatitis). As a result of this Masato was unprepared for his opponent's southpaw style.

  • Buakaw's smashing of Masato's leg in 2007 contributed greatly in Masato's loss later on in the 2007 Max tournament. I do give Masato credit for his heart and skill.

  • 2004 Buakaw destroyed Masato, but come 2007 Masato's boxing outboxed Buakaw.

    Great fighters!

  • masatos one tough guy, you hafta admit, buakaw had a really easy second fight, while masato had to fight krause, but thats no excuse for a loss, good fight for both, he tried his best, gl in 08

  • buakaw did not won 2 titles by selling oranges. K1 is a tough tournament. It's a road of uncertainty. Now maybe it is. but still fighting on the ring is when physical as well as mental are met.

  • i didnt realize they fight all their fights in 1 night... dang.. that's crazy... and also.. it isnt fair coz whoever went up against a better fighter previously mightve won but the damage has already been done. much respect to all the fighters.. especially those who last long...

  • ''but after all..asian rule k1 max!!!!''

Not really, the only 2 good asian fighters are Masato and Buakaw. The other best: Souwer, Kraus, the blond kid from Ukraine, Zambini etc aren't asian fool.

  • The other non asian great is morkevicius. He is training and making a comeback this year ;)

    He and masato are excellent

  • In my opinion the 10 best k-1 fighters are(not including Masato): 1.Andy Souwer 2.Buakaw Por. Pramuk 3.Giorgio Petrosyan 4.Artur Kyshenko 5.Yoshihiro Sato 6.Albert Kraus 7.Yuya Yamamoto 8.Drago 9.Yasuhiro Kido 10.Nieky Holtzken This is my honest opinion based on these fighters recent results. My 2 favorites are Yuya Yamamoto and Drago now that Masato's gone but as you can se they are almost at the bottom of my list.
  • I'd have put Kraus lower down on the list. He is a very good fighter, but now he is well past his prime.

I also disagree that Sato should be as high as you have him. He has proved highly inconsistent. Let's not forget also that he lost to Drago, who in turn lost you Yuya (both of whom you have ranked below him).

I don't really see a case for putting Kido in there, I'd replace him with Kohi.

Don't you think too that 4th is a little harsh on Kyshenko? I'd put him joint 3rd or joint 2nd.

  • The reason I put albert kraus so high on the list is because he had been fighting really good in his past fights and I think that he doesn't have as much "bad" days as Drago for example. Drago fights as if he was the no. 1 fighter one day and loses an upset the next. I put yoshihiro sato in fifth because he is one of those fighters that changes immensely every time he loses. He allways comes back stronger. I wanted to put kyshenko first but I think that petrosyan might win this year...

  • He outclassed a top ranked k-1 fighter, has beaten a two time k-1- max champion and I beleive he also tied with Buakaw(or maybe barely lost) Buakaw I beleive has gotten back in "shape" now and may be able to win the final 4, if he's able to beat souwer he will definetely win(IF).Artur Kyshenko has power, speed, conditioning, technique everything really but I don't think he has what it takes to be champion yet. Yuya yamamoto is a very capable fighter but as you may already know his chin is very..

  • by two time champion u mean buakaw, it was fixed, everyone know and recognize this.

  • high up, and if he'd fight somebody with more accurate punches like artur kyshenko, or any of the fighters ahead of him he wouldn't be able to win on heart alone. Now that I look at it I really should have put kohi on the list instead of holtzken and reshaped 6-10 but I think it's because we haven't seen enough of kohi's new style. I really don't remember why I didn't put him on the list put I suspect that's why :P

  • In that respect, Drago and Sato are very similar, they both improve immensely following each loss and they are greatly inconsistent. I feel that Drago should at least be tied with him (at whatever position).

I don't think that Kyshenko has really had chance to show his true potential, he has only lost to the top fighters and always comes back stronger. I feel that next year could well be Kyshenko's year.

The top 4 are so close that it could be argued that they should all be number 1.

  • yes I totally agree with you but the reason I think that Drago really isn't the better fighter is because in my opinion Sato should have won the fight and it shouldn't have gone to an extra round. But since it did Drago won on his sheer will and aggresiveness. Yes it really is to soon to decide the final 4 but at that point of time when I wrote the comment I thought that the final 4 I picked was the most fair. But It might have been better with kyshenko switching places with petrosyan.

  • You're right, Drago did win purely on heart and I would probably have given it to Sato at the end of the third. So I suppose that Sato is better technically, but it doesn't seem fair on Drago to have Sato ahead.

Drago was in far worse shape at the end of the third, but Sato didn't show the heart to go the extra round. What it came down to in the end was that Drago wanted t more.

I just realized that Petrosyan has beaten Souwer! That coupled with the draw to Buakaw changes things.

  • yeah I totally agree with you, it did come to an extra round and there is no "if it wouldn't have gone to an extra round" because it did and Drago did win. But at the moment that's what I felt. But yeah I put Petrosyan at third because of those two fights. But I don't know in what rules they fought. Who knows maybe petrosyan still needs to get used to k-1. We'll see his true potential and the who really is no.1 in the coming final 4. I'm really looking forward to it :)

  • yeah i agree with that ranking. you do get the occasional upset but overall i see it like that also

  • Um, actually the Japanese are notorious for giving their fighter the extra round in hopes he can pull off a win. If Masato wasn't Japanese, he would have lost earlier (as he should have).

  • i agree with japanese giving japanese figters extra round. In 2006 HEROS, sakuraba was getting pounded by lithuanian fighter and i felt it should hav been stopped. It was painful to watch. But the fight wasnt stopped and sakuraba managed to comeback and win. Classic example of japanese bias.

  • Whether or not people see that as being lucky or not is up to the individual. Sakuraba managed to win fair and square and I'm not sure which fight you're talking about but I think that's the one where Sakuraba kept trying to fight even if he was rocked. If that was the case then they won't stop the fight for any race as long as they show the will to keep fighting. But sometimes they stop it but that depends on who the ref is.

  • 2004 was when bauakw wanted 2 win k1 max bad lolz 2007 he didnt really care if he lost

  • no...no... no.. K1 Japan noticed their heros being eliminated by foreigners especially Buakaw embarressed by beating him so bad. K1 came to new rules of eliminating cliching, head grab to the knee, throwing.. So Masato could win. The only way to win masato now is to KO him.

  • @muaythai4ko ur an idiot. with clinching allowed it becomes thai boxing (minus elbows). buakaw can fight in thailand if he doesnt like it. this is K-1

  • @ravingdave900 gee, ur smart in this sport! that rule & other follows, didn't existed til buakaw came into to the scene. Yes, just another excuse! knowing you have to keep on coming up w/ rule to win someone cos you cant beat em.

  • @muaythai4ko K-1 was always more kickboxing they didnt expect someone like buakaw to fight like that so they changed it to keep it fair. buakaw won in 2006 under the new rules anyway since his main weapon is multiple kicks. so the rule change barely affected him. he just cant fight the same these days because of his age, nothing to do with rules...

  • @ravingdave900 you train, sir?

  • @muaythai4ko then how did he win 06? the truth is he lost his aggression with his kicks stop making excuses for this old fighter...and yes I train kyokushin and boxing.

  • @ravingdave900 seriously that's why you need to train...buddy! don't waste my time.

  • @muaythai4ko haha u have to now talk about me cos u cant say anything about buakaw anymore. im glad i could waste your time.

  • @ravingdave900 it has "everything" to do with the rules.

  • why didnt buakwaw care in 2007? was he bored or had enough money?

  • Yeah, it seemed like he wasn't that aggressive compared to back then but the same case happened to Masato as well when he became champion. He said he was completely relaxed and was being too much on the defensive and became overconfident.

  • "Yeah, it seemed like he wasn't that aggressive compared to back then"

    u mean morkevicius?

He lost to andre dida last year in k1. U know when his next fight is?

  • No, I meant Buakaw judging by how he fought even in some of his recent matches where he won against Black Mamba. I actually saw those two recently and I doubt they would retire judging by their age, but they're not doing so good so I don't think we'll be seeing them anytime soon in any huge tournaments like K-1 or Dream.

  • I know kid yamamoto is making comeback in DREAMS. Do you know anymore details?

So you think buakaw is losing his skills?

  • Kid Yamamoto is actually coming back to Dream as a lighter weight. He said he might want to keep it that way too. I don't think the organization would let him though. But there may be a chance for him to fight against Urijah Faber but right now, he's going to fight this Olympic wrestler for his first match.

Buakaw definitely seemed to be barely trying or rather, tried to show that he was able to beat Black Mamba without much effort. But he might change his style for his next match.

  • I am looking forward to kind comeback. Hes my fav fighter.

Who do u want to win if he fights faber? I want kid. Who do u think would win?

  • Correcting my above post, What i meant was i am lookign forward to KID comeback. Not KIND comeback lol.

  • Do u have any news on remigijus morkevicius?

  • The only major tournaments I've ever seen him recently was 2006 and that's it. I know nothing else about Remigijus.

  • I am Thai. It's very hard for Masato to fight with Buakaw.

However I respect his fighting heart. He's a real man.

  • masato is the best!!!!!

  • but after all..asian rule k1 max!!!!

  • all fighters are matured since 2004 including Buakaw himself. All said and done, k1 fighters are all bad ass. 3 fights in one night. This requires mental, physical discipline in all. Thumbs up to all!!!!

  • You deserve an ass-whooping for posting such crap

  • Masato deserved that ass-whooping for being cocky before the tournament.

Now he knows what Thailand is all about.

  • how is he cocky!? cuz what he wears?,or cuz girls scream whenever they see him or hear his name, and they wouldnt to u if they saw ur ugly ass...he's not jus a ''flashy fighter'' he works damn hard at what he does and is a winner most of the time, and ALL the time shows great sportsmaship and respect to the other fighter whenever he wins...so how is that a ''cocky fighter''?

  • man, i feel pain just watching the poor guy.

  • It's tough to see these guys lose. All of them train very hard to win.

  • masato is a true fighter, he has heart.

  • accept u are lost against someone who is better is hard, very hard, it requires alot of courage, respect!

  • Darn, it would have been nice to understand what they say.

Anyway, thanx Shunsuk, poor Masaso he gave it his all and ended up injured.

  • I wonder how many pints of blood he pissed that night.

  • that sounds painful

  • Respect. Class Act. Warrior.
