I can tell you for a fact that your info is wrong.. whatever the rep told you about the UV is wrong. It's slated to last many many years.. and in fact is totally covered under warranty for the first 3 years.. And it traps allergens and dust using an electrostatic cell. Hepa filters are not the only method one can use to trap particles. There is absolutely nothing more to buy once you've purchased the machine. How about the IQ air.. anything else needed in order to maintain?
I called an electrical engineer -- who said UV bulb frequencies do not last 3 years. Then I called the Oreck store and - they DO NOT WARRANTY IT past 1 year. Sorry.. and electrostatic (Truman cells) simply do not capture dust like a HEPA (and I had an oreck -- believe me). Do you work for oreck????
