  • Ihave seen the Lanc based in the UK fly many times and it always sends a shiver down the spine. 4 Merlins on full chat is just ..wow! Its right that the Canadians fly the other Lanc as I believe they built most of the Lancs used in the war. Mostly all flown to the UK by women Air Transport pilots as well but thats another heroic story often forgotten. Nice vid and thanks.

  • thanks guys.good job.just love to hear this plane and really appreciate getting to see it.esp thanks to rcaf man.

  • 22,000 lb bomb...wow!

  • this plane in Thunder Bay,Ontario today...

  • my grandfather was a navegator on this plane in ww11,there are two in the u.k,both are grounded at the minute, 1 million pounds has just be donated to make both lancs fly again..1 of the lancaster was ment to do a fly over on 09/05/2010 at warboys cambridgeshire england, but it had engine trouble,so a dc3-datoka done a fly pass instead...hopefully the lancaster will make it next year!!

  • @crazy9catears thankyou and its amazing what you here these days about the past and i would put them on youtube or send u them on different tapes but unfortunatly i cant get them but will have to try lol and my grandad was 71 when he died.

  • Is That mk 1 or 3?

  • Its was a great british plane

  • Yes only 2 lancasters still fly with talk of a 3rd maybe being restored to static flight

After WW2 many lancasters well sold for scrap and others to airlines and converted to passager and cargo But quickly were sold for scrap with the turn of the jet age and Americian made planes ..The comet replaced the lang, till the comet seen stress cracks and crashes and set the britsh plane makers/sellers back

  • i wass at that !! its a real beauty.. my great uncle was in one of these planes

  • there is a none flying one at RAF cosford and my great grandad helped build these

  • ye great video, nothing to say! instead of showing the plane they have an old bloke telling inaccurate datas. with all respect sir ! ;)

  • @poss71 That old bloke happens to be the senior lancaster pilot for the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum based in Hamilton Ontario Canada who painstakingly restored this aircraft to flying condition. He is also a retired senior Captain B747 Air Canada so he probably knows a few more things about flying than you do.

  • Thanks guys, great clip. I had a good look at the Lancaster at Bullcreek Aviation Museum here in Perth, Western Australia. What an impressive grand aircraft. Good to see that the Canadian Lancaster made it.

  • is this the Lancaster owned by the Warplane museum in Hamliton, Ontario, Canada?

  • only 2? even with the at least 10,000 built? great tour though

  • is this cause there's that new magazine coming out?

  • only 2? wow, one flew over my house in england about 2/3 weeks ago, exellent tour 5 star
