anyone else come here cause of renegade Ops? basically a 360/ps3 game that plays like this game in a more modern style, 3d HD graphics and still top view and 4p co-op online and 2p offline. check it out if you like this game.

wait a minute, you can ONLY shoot up? the hell?

...after a quick look at wikipedia apparently the japanese version of the game you can fire in ANY direction... why would they remove that capability in the US?

jesus, that's just as worse as contra hard corps on genesis having no lifebar in US version (yes hard corps in japan has a life meter)

See the weird thing is that this arcade game was called top gunner and not jackal. Not sure why the MAME game you are playing says Jackal. Jackal was for the NES.

@RejectedManiac it depended on the arcade -- I agree TOP GUNNER is what I remember it as, loving and hating it... but Jackal was likely a different name to make it less confusing vs. similarly-named games (e.g. TOP GUN)

@RejectedManiac I think it came out under both names jakal being a newer romset. Ive always seen it as top gunner too though. Played the machine yesterday infact best ever.
