Charles Brandon actually supported the King's divorce from Catherine of Aragon and supported the dissolution of the monasteries. Unlike his wife 3rd Wife Mary Tudor (Henry VIII' sister) who didn't. his 4th/last wife Catherine Willoughby was a major protestant,  hence his grand daughter Lady jane grey being such a strong protestant.
