That wouldn't be a wise way of looking at it considering Mustaine has more writing credits on that album than anyone else.

Their manager at the time, Bud Prager, also co-wrote a good chunk of the material on RISK.

If you don't know who Bud Prager is do some research. Bottom line, he has NO business co-writing Megadeth tunes lol.

Marty isn't entirely to blame for the direction of RISK. Dave wanted to capitalize on the commercial success of CW and Risk and that's the direction he chose to go.

Marty said the seed to leave the band was planted during the recording of RISK. Some of his material (solos etc) was removed from the album without him being told. He found out when listening to the final mixes of the songs. So it seems the lack of consideration he was given was a big factor in making his decision.

Marty was doing solo albums for his other stuff during his time with Megadeth. I don't think he would have left if he didn't start to feel like he and his abilities were expendable.
