Man thumbs up just on the fact that when the music kicks in I feel like I'm back desperately trying to get a few more shots off before my ammo explodes or the heat caused a shut down. The ones after this just never caught that lighting in the jar feel. Not only was the music just better but the story and missions have just never been tight as this game felt. Hehe that damned computer voice too :) basically saying "your going to die" every two seconds with warnings that I would just override :D
@frogjedi4 I have DOS/95 and speical accelerated Editions ... I never touched the titanium, although I played them, after that I never touched them again, gave them away.
i remember that when i was i kid i used to put the discs -mercs and mech 2- on my cd player and listen to them all day (skipping track 1 of course lol). Awesome OST, brings back memories. Does anyone now where i can download them from? My discs are busted
@zonkabe You can get them from the downloads section of either khinsider[dot]com (also has a lot of other games) or sarna[dot]net (specifically battletech games).
Why are the songs cut off liek this? when i play the game the songs are longer but these are no longer than 1 minute.. is there full versions somewhere?
These are the Titanium version songs. The classic edition has more songs and they are all longer. Simply use media player with you mercs disc in to get these full songs.
Wonderful, cept some of the music cuts off at random intervals, but that really took me back, (purge stiener was the best PS: No offense inteneded for active stiener forces listening
I think I know the answer to why the tracks are shortened. If my guess is correct these tracks were copied from the Titanium Trilogy CD. The music tracks from MW2:Mercs was shortened to 1 min per track...sad really. I can't think of a single track on the CD I didn't like.
Heck, used to play them during BattleTech tabletop games to set the mood! :)
I've figured out why, ingame the tracks are supposed to blend together with one playing over the last few seconds of another, that's why they fade out so early.

Waltz is my favourite. I still have my disks, so I'll probably go rip the cds to my mp3 for the full mechwarrior 2 audio experience.

@TheMechGamer Make sure that it's the original edition because the titanium edition is cut off like this.

frogjedi4 2 years ago
I did, i have the version that has 3 games in 1, including mercs, and when i pulled the music off the disc, it was short like these.
carnesaur 2 years ago
Then it must be titanium edition.
frogjedi4 2 years ago

MW2:MERCS had the best music out of the series, IMO. Nothing wants to make you go blow stuff up like the song Janex.
intelligentmeathead 2 years ago
Mercs was the only one I bought. I gotta agree Janex is great for demolishing everything

Hmm, the tracks don't do that for me. For me, they finish very abruptly and don't fade out like that.
Not5id 2 years ago
These must be the tracks for the Titanium version.
They had to cut down the tracks because the upgraded graphics took away some space.
