  • Your playing is fluent and lyrical. What a refreshing surprise to find that the great Cavaille-Coll did not restrict himself to building noble monsters like those in St Sulpice and St Ouen! I hope this instrument is, and remains, relatively unmolested by the whims of change over the years. Thank you for the upload.

  • The Voix Céleste is superb in this piece.

  • Can you give me the stops disposition of this organ please? A curiosity, but the pipes are at the opposite of organist?

  • Here follows the disposition: Great (Manual I): Montre 8', Bourdon 8', Flûte Octaviante 4', Prestant 4';

    Récit (Manual II): Gambe 8', Voix Céleste 8', Flûte Harmonique 8', Trompette 8'

    Accouplement: Récit/Great; Pedalboard "en tirasse". Appel de Trompette.

  • Thanks very much, simple organ but beautiful...but it has not a Mixture and a 16' stop? Strange...

    You play very well this beautiful piece.

  • Thank you very much for your comment.

    Att. NO MIXTURE, NO 16'...

    I wish there were such stops in this marvelous small instrument.

    You should hear Bach's BWV 545 played in it... It is simply amazing...

  • I made a mistakes: Voix Céleste 4' (not 8')

  • Once more, I am sorry... (such a hurry that I am making several mistakes...). Do forgive me, please...

    This is the final disposition;

    GREAT (MANUAL I): Flûte Harmonique 8', Montre 8', Bourdon 8', Prestant 4';

    RÉCIT EXPRESSIF.: Voix Céleste 4', Gambe 8', Flûte Octaviante 4', Trompette 8'.

    As for pedalboard and couplers, I confirm my previous information.

  • Beautiful interpretation. I don't read Italian but in your comments 4 months ago it seems that this organ is at St. Emilion in Rouen, France - is that correct? Also, I couldn't find any other information about this organ on the internet. Maybe you could post a tour through this organ, its features, and the cathedral (a web site maybe)?

  • Thank you very much.

    No this organ is a small Cavaillé-Coll (two manuals, a complete pedalboard -en tirasse- and 08 stops). It is located in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, in the church of Our Lady of Carmo, district of Lapa (near downtown). It is probably #692 and it seems to have been built in 1898.

  • Very nice ! Perfect tempo as well. I really like the registration. Do you know if the Cavaille-Coll Co. is still making organs? or still in business? They seeem to have a full, and wonderful sound.

  • Thank you! Nope! Cavaillé-Col is neither making organs, nor in business any longer. One finds european organs sounding like a CC, especially those built according to accoustical principles he followed. Many craftsmen from his atélier were employed by other organ builders. A CC instrument is a unique jewel. Perhaps we could call it the Stradivarius among symphonic organs.These trompettes 8', though romantic, are poignant and do a great job in this masterpiece by Böhm. God bless them both!

  • I would love to play like you.... God bless you!

  • Thank you very much! Most kind of you.

    But I am sure you too can play it beautifully.

    Do you have a video of yourself playing this piece?

  • I am trying to record some files, but the sound quality of my recorder is a crying shame.

    I will try to do my best :)

  • Then go ahead! And do your best, each time better. Give us a piece of Great Music..

  • He was Bach's mentor!

  • The great Sebastian showed deep respect for Dieterich. If yoiu consider the, when he was around 13 y.o., Bach was already copying BuxWV 210...

  • What a glorious sound! Even the smaller organs of Cavaille'-Coll are so full and tonally complete. The voicing is so fine, and your interpretation of this wonderful choral prelude is exquisite. Thank you for posting this!

  • Thank you very much.

    This is really a wonderful chorale prelude. It is one of the jewels of Baroque.

    Take a look at the manualiter version of "Vater unser..." It is also very beautiful.

  • It deseves more 5 stars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Bravo! A great interpretation.

  • Excellent playing! Congratulations! Could you tell me more about the organ (ex. what year was it built, what stops does it have, etc.) ?

  • Thank you very much!

    The organ is a small "Cavaillé-Coll" with two manuals of 56 keys each, plus a pedal board wit 30 keys, en tirasse. I Great: Flûte Harmonique 8', Montre 8', Bourdon 8', Prestant 4'; Récit-Expressif:V.Céleste 4', Gambe 8', Fl.Octaviante 4', Trompette 8'. It is probably #692 (G.Huybens) and was built and instaled in 1898. Probable price FF13.500,00
