how to strop single edge/double edge/cartridge blades

Gemcutlery, all sharpening is is particals being lined up to make an edge strait. Abraision makes it faster and takes out nicks and notches. Great video.

I wouldnt trade my merkur 38c for the world. Ive tried mach 3, gillette fusion and track 2. DE totally beats them all

hahaha, yes, thats what i say to people. it dosent sharpen the blade per say, it just realigns everything thus keeping the blade in smoother condition.

Do you strop these blades only once after the initial full set of shaves on the blade? I would assume yes for you've "maxed out" the blade.

i myself strop after each shave and naturally recommend this to anyone. what youre describing probably wouldnt work only because waiting so long would seriously deteriorate the blade edge, thus making the stropping less effective, which is why i tell people to keep up with it after each useage.

I've tried this and got about 2 extra shaves from the blade. Are you wearing a citizen eco drive? If its the model I think it is, I have the same watch. I love that watch =)

stropping basically will straighten and re-align the edge of the blade which becomes microscopically bent and/or jagged from the shave.
