  • amazing drumming!!

  • what kind of snare is that? i have an old 64 rodgers dynosonic tin concert snare, it sounds beutiful, like yours. i find old tin or cob snares give the best reverb and they give a good pop.

  • Is that you Buddy Rich?

  • This is why I have such huge respect for jazz drummers. You're awesome.

  • It's funny to see you have to put your shoulders all the way up becouse your snare is so high. Is't that tense drumming? Exelent drumming by the way!

  • it s very difficould to play swing

  • dude thats awesome gresat swing beat and rythm

    what brand is your kit?

  • awesome!!!!!!

  • Awesome ... i am plying for over 3 years and i am not very good..but anyway...xD and now i am trying to learn swing and i cant:( anyway great job:D

  • Women just don't understand, and some guys too. There is something so satisfying about sitting behind a kit and playing. Swing is the most fun IMO.

  • Wow, great stuff, but you're back is crooked, I would try to keep both shoulders level.

  • Very nice work. I should say very nice play!!

  • your kit pieces could use some adjustment/relocation ; )

  • Amazing! Loved.it.

  • love the steel kit

  • at the first sight i thought

    Monk sits behind these drums

  • Way more technical than I can do .. but where is the bass drum ? would love to see it with a heap more bottom end ...

  • technically its correct, but you are a little too stiff

  • Why is it that jazz drummers tend to sit with a hunch?

  • I really like what you are playing. Your ride cymbal, however, made me cringe whenever you went to it. I would say that it might over power the camera mike less if the camera was on the other side. I dunno. Great playing though!

  • Swing is softer? I would say it is more dynamic, it has it's loud parts in contrast to it's soft parts. Watch some Buddy Rich solo's, he kicks the shit out of his kit quite often :)

  • im not agree :P swing is sorta softer

  • Nice solo...excellent feel to.....visual with crossovers!! Nice sound...COOOOOL

  • he looks like mr monk

  • cool

  • Loved your drumming. It is refreshing to see someone going back to classic style of drumming. Sounds great and is easy to hear the influences that made you what you are today. If i may refer you to my mentor , Bobby Bowden of NJ, another drummer in the style of Buddy, Gene and the other great drummers of "The Day". Please check him out ( Bobby Bowden drum solo). Let me know by leaving a comment. Thanks Scot.

  • Yes indeed! You were sure swingin' there. Very nice feel in your playing. I love the older styles of drumming (which you represent well). You might get a kick out of my vid clips here on youtube. I'm under "Drummer Richard Gray". Keep playing...we need more of this on youtube!

  • What a great commet

    Quite enjoyable :)

I did a similar type of solo, check it out if you want.

  • err the swing drum beats follow the jazz ride pattern?

  • wow, nice dude, very good! : D

  • 1:17 is really cool

  • wow look at the height of that snare!

  • very good

  • dude u look just like monk, from the tv show monk, great drumming btw

  • very tasty.

  • Very good!!! Äre you a professional drummer? If not why not? you are good enough to be one.

Your kit sounds awesome. What kind of ride cymbal is it. It's one of the best I've ever heard.

  • Thanks for your reply. No, I am not a professional drummer. Let's just say I decided to take a different path. Shortly, I will try to post another vid.

The cymbal is a 60's 18" Med A Zildjian Ride. When I was a kid I used to comb through the inventories of cymbals to hear the "right" one.

  • yea...check out my vids

  • those are fake fibes. they look to new. nobody has them.

  • No, they are quite real, when Fibes was owned by C.F. Martin and their headquarters was in Farmingdale, NY, circa late 60's early 70's

  • buddy rich !!!!!

  • Awesome Solo! Drumroll,Please!

  • that snare drum is something else!

  • good job,,,,it's good to watch good drummers because there is some real crap on here sometimes. There should be auditions to post on here.

  • there really should, some people are so bad.+

  • Awesome! My 12 year old "drummer daughter" watched it with me - Fun to watch you play.

  • very very nice!

    kit sounds awesome!

  • your good that set looks great but those toms need some work go to a hardware store and buy window foam and put it under your tom heads it sounds stupid but it works really well.

  • Toms sound great! Good jazz sound!

  • This is great playing. Those cymbals are the best I've ever heard. Wow!
