Scout was the balancing class to heavy. Heavy was generally weak in beta, but that made it fun due to the face that the heavy did alot more damage, and actually required some skill to play. Even without the scope, the scout was awesome to play.

Also no a good scout could easily be protected from recons, since they had claymores and a knife.

Looks kinds gay now, A recon could easily kill you, you would have no way of knowing that is it shooting you and you would die. Plus, it was too powerful for heavies, which makes it great cuz heavies ARE THE BEST CLASS in PT, not scout.

The scout seems broken here, but it actually has potential to be a pretty balanced character, if designed correctly. Take away the Clays, for example, and he's a sitting duck, so you give up defense for a ranged, powerful attack.
