Do take note of the fact that they are actually moving very slowly in a diagonal direction. There are a few factors to explain the phenomenon. One, the floor is made to look normal only from that angle when they are actually stairs. Two, at 1:08, notice how the khaki man grows in size as he walks towards the camera. Three, remember that things look bigger when you view upwards. The camera's probably slanted upwards to magnify them. 4, distorted lens. 5, Quaker magic!!!

@MrShawzyxx I've since seen the explanation of the video, it's actually a completely disproportioned room where none of the walls or the floor or ceiling are parallel/perpendicular to each other. It's called the Ames' Room and there's a pretty good video explaining it if you search it on Youtube.
