  • JAZZ is possibly my favorite Queen LP. By the time this one rolled around, I was in full appreciation of their music.

  • スレイヤーを思い出す

  • Pure rock, pure energy.

  • it galls me how much influence critics have over public opinion, especially considering how grossly WRONG they've been, time and time again. Queen, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath....just a few 70s-era rock giants who were completely derided by critics and whose music has stood up like Mt Rushmore over the ensuing decades. FUCK CRITICS!! Queen's music only appreciates with each passing year.

  • should have performed this song live but they never did

  • underated or not. Queen is simply the best. Point out.(punt uit!)

  • Pure energy =D

  • this song really shows the incredible skill of everyone in the band. the guitar drums vocals and bass are amazing

  • One of the best Queen songs without a doubt.

  • jazz is in their best three albums

  • i have to say most of their best music is underrated either because of the meaning their displaying which isnt fully understood or their sound diffrentiations which change from time to time in the best suited era.but Queen is never gonna fxxxn die. i wonder what the critics will say to the music they hear from afar after this life? will they judge it skepticallyLOL

  • @kingMackson7-I bet, in retrospect, if that is even in their constitution, the critics would kick themselves for passing up Queen as merely a glam/ pop band, or whatever nonsense was going thru their limited heads! They just never gave Queen a chance.....they were too stupid to transcend their worldly prejudices, sit back, and hear the voice of God: Freddie!!! They were too caught up in Queen's appearance, the androgynous look, the name, & all the glitz.

Queen is SO underrated, it's depressing !

  • @FREDDIEMANIAC critics are stupid, just ask my friends, but i don't know how that's possible

  • queen lo mejor¡¡ the best¡¡¡

  • It's funny to think the influence that Freddie Mercury had on Proto-Thrash.Just shows how dynamic the great musicians have been

  • the quintessence of rock and roll my dear!!!

  • Who's Brian Enjoy? Just kidding....great song, thanks for the upload. And as any old time Queen fan would know it's the first song on side 2!

  • I love that plant-like wail at the beginning

  • @Dagaman64 Blasphemy!

  • @Dagaman64 FREDDIE wail....Freddie is a million times better than Plant

  • @Dagaman64 FREDDIE wail....Freddie is a million times better than Plant

  • hurry, hurry, hurry...

  • The thunderbolt at the end was recorded by brian on a portable recorder and the funy thing is that the album's liner notes credit the thunderbolt to God.

    hahaha

  • @mercury46 Well, who else could've delivered that thunderbolt that Brian was able to record?

  • @mercury46 but brian may IS god :D

  • @mercury46 hooray for Wikipedia

  • Most kickass song ever? I think so.

  • kicks so much ass...Mercury was fucking nuts...

  • @Stauderhorse absolutely. quite possibly one of the best solos in rock history including evh and page.

  • Well...My life would have been much different without Queen...God bless them!

  • My top 5 Queen albums:

    Queen II

    ANATO

    Sheer Heart Attack

    Queen

    ADATR

  • hey , i still have queens first ep with the 4 songs on it , with picture cover heh heh , best band in the world ever

  • Thank God for that Storm!!

  • fantastic giutar!!

  • never got a minute, no ya never got a minute, no ya never got a minute

    OH no matter....

Queen has provided the soundtrack for my life.

  • I have never heard Queens impact described so eloquently..."the soundtrack of my life", thank you.

  • Brian and the boys turned me into a musician

(a crappy one) and they are, in my estimation, the most intelligent and satisfying band the world has ever known

  • Great term..fits me just right..thankyou sentforth.

  • There is a huge number of "hidden" gems in Queen's catalogue. And you can see from the people commenting below that novice fans miss them sometimes. How can you leave Queen II out of any ranking of the best Queen albums. That record is a complete jewelry set.

  • Oh, I'm not a novice fan, I hope at least. I now have nearly every album (unlike my last post here, few comments below) except News of The World and their newest album, but I won't buy that one (with Paul Rodgers). I indeed really like Queen II.

  • How could I have ever lived without Someday, One Day??!!

  • It's the mighty Queen in all their glorious greatness!

  • I can't settle the live argument but I can say with certainty that I have never even heard it on the radio ! This is a secret gem apparently which I believe could have sold a lot more copies of Jazz if it was circulated commercially. Nonetheless Fat bottomed Girls/Bicycle Race sold this album to people who couldn't get enough of We Will Rock You/We Are The Champions! Listening to this cut only reminds me of Les Paul's fingerwork, among others!

  • I was at their "News of the World" tour at the LA Forum (with bad seats), then I had 6th row center for "The Game" a couple of years later. Queen was as great in the floor seats as they were in the rafters. This band ruled!

  • Wow, i didnt get to the the News tour but I did see Jazz at the Forum in 78 nose bleed colonade...then the Game and Hot Space at the Forum...Always remember risking getting mugged in the parking lot on the way to the show by Inglewood's local queen "fans"...lol

    3. A Day At The Races

    4. The Miracle

    5. News Of The World

    6. A Kind Of Magic

  • excelent rocker by queen your dead

  • This is my all time favorite Queen album and I have been onboard every since their very first ( yes I am that old ) . If I had to pick a second favorite ? Queen ~ A Night At The Opera.

  • lol at the thunderstorm

    pure genius

  • YOUR DEAD!!

  • I always loved when the new QUEEN albums, *before cd/dvd* was released, ya NEVER knew which direction they were headed, but ALWAYS down the road of rock.

  • beautiful, génial!!

  • a lot of people thought freddy wrote this song after a while of writers block he's expressing that the record company was always on his ass about making another song so if you listen to the lyrics you can knida understand that

  • in october 1978 i saw them play this song, freddy still didn't know the lyrics well so he read them from a piece of paper in his hands.

  • Queen never played it live man!

  • You have to trust me on this one, i was there.

  • Where?

  • At the hollywood sportatorium, in hollywood florida. Freddy also made a comment of how bad the acoutics where in this particular building.

  • They played there in November 1978 (not October) but if you're telling the truth, you're a lucky guy because that would probably be the ONLY performance of this song live. The song was never included in any of their setlists and was widely considered to be one of their best numbers to be never performed live. If they really did (there are no recordings of that particular show) that would probably be their first and last attempt...

  • I do consider myself to be a lucky guy just to have been at queen concert is an honor to me. By the way you must be a queen encyclopedia because you are right about the concert been in november.

  • There are couple of websites where you can find all the tour dates, setlists and detailed descriptions of virtually all Queen shows they've ever played. Queen's concertography has to be among the most well-documented around. But not good enough it seems, since no one could recall "Dead on time" ever being played. Even Wikipedia states so. Quote: "it was considered by most fans to be an ideal live number, but was curiously never played in concert"...

  • I wish one day you could ask Brian himself so we can put this issue to rest. It's not inmpossible, you know?

  • god i love this song one of my favs and thanks for the tip selfhelp :)

  • TOP TIP: Play this song at high volume when you're running a little late.

  • @selfhelpguy every morning while taking a shower! jajaja

  • my friend told me this album sucks and he usually knows what he's talking about. i almost never got around to hearing this album because of him.lol love this one.

  • Your friend isn't very wise then, anything written by Queen is simply awesome and very beautiful.

    Peace and love.

  • no hes got amazing taste. he likes all of queen he just doesnt care much for this album. i love it tho.

  • every queen album is worth buying if you are a true fan except Hot Space even a true fan can do without that one. buty them all

  • may i ask what is wrong with hot space?

  • have you heard it? listen and you may agree its nothing like any other queen

  • no i havent heard it, thats why i'm asking.lol

and that explaination doesnt make that album sound so bad actually. i personally think most Queen albums are quite different from eachother.

  • hot space is great, its alright for a band to change there style as long as there still producing kick ass music, plus without hot space we wouldnt have under pressure and las parablos de lamour which are both great songs,

  • agreed that albums one of my fave, i really liked cool cat!...excellent vocals.

  • im actually glad they didnt add bowie to that,

he sounds a bit weird mumbling in the background,

  • yeah, ive never been a big bowie fan.

glad he wasnt either, queen is great by themselves, even when they did under pressure live without bowie...i didt miss him, couldnt even tell!...wuts another of ur fave queen albums?

  • id have to pick innuendo and queen 1,

innuendos really deep and has got some of queens best instrumental interludes specially on the title track gut queen 1 is the album that really got me into queen,

plus liar has got to be one of there best songs,

  • yes liar kicks ass!! luv tht song, innuendo 2, awesome, my fave song on there is dont try so hard....we could talk queen all day...no prob...lol

  • id probably pick ride the wild wind,

i always considered innuendo do be the darker side of the miracle though, also a great album

was it all worth it is my favouraite track on that,

  • One argument against- Under Pressure was released on Greatest Hits 2 years before Hot Space!

  • Under pressure is not on greatest hits,

it is however on greatest hits 2, which was released after innuendo in 1991 i believe,

  • Actually it was on the US version of Greatest Hits.

  • 2 years before they recorded it on hotspace?

  • hot space was a pure experiment in the funk dance side of things which ruined queen in north america there are four decent songs but its dominated by weak funk

  • thats too bad. cuz i love funk, but if its weak then i'd prefer to not hear it.

  • i love funk too but if its done right hell i didnt even like zeppelins the crunge from houses of the holy but trampled under foot funk done correctly for a heavy band

  • you didnt like the crunge!!!! i love that tune. thats an awesome one.

  • jazz is a very underrated album imo and NOT facist lol stupid rolling stone magazine

  • I never cared about what music critics think, or say about. What really matters is if you like it or not.

All critics exaggerate, and put their own personal tastes in everything. That's why I hate them.

  • Awesome song.
