  • I discovered this song when I met this one girl, during a very harsh time in my life. Her middle name happened to be Jane, and well, things never worked out, and we haven't talked since. I've moved on, but each time I hear this song, it brings back the heartbreak.

  • timeless and beautiful song...

  • this makes me weep heaps wonderful song and i know someone very special who thinks so too brilliant love junysaerus

  • Daisy Jane is another exceptional masterpiece from this group.....AMERICA FOOOREVER!!!!!!

  • saw them tonight in Moncton N.B. Canada.a forty year old dream come true! They still have it going on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he has the voice of an angel!

  • @jackieon oh yessssssss

  • Does she really love me, I think she does...like the stars above me, I know because...

I DO know. And Nicole...I love you, baby. Always.

  • @bushnaby01...that is so awesome. You give me hope that my lost love of 20 years who I recently found and have fallen for again will work out better this time. Not that I'm worried....she is the woman I plan to marry! I'm sending her this song right now...

  • I love you guys.. You're lyrics and music are outstanding, even now after all these years...timeless.

  • I love America so much. This is what music is supposed to do - make you feel good! I love this song very much as I do their other songs. I'm 38 and they say this is way before my generation, but you know what- I know great music when I hear it.

  • These men have always given my heart a wandering of love and a lot of soul...thank you so much....I have loved this song for over 35 years. Brings me back to the love, dreams and caring I felt at that time...I learned that what I felt then is also what I feel today.....The guy I was crazy for at the age of 14 is still the man of my dreams today, after a lifetime of children, divorce, lost love and all....we are back together...Remember your dreams....they are who you are....

  • Great job as alway's..endless Talent !

  • he should maybe go one octave lower?? his falsetto is too distorted by old age.

  • Did Gerry develop a speech impediment or something? Sounds weird.

  • One of America's very best, and, though many do love it, it is still underappreciated. It ranks as one of the loveliest love songs of the unmatched 70's. Only thing I miss here is Dan Peek's high harmonies.

  • @pnutbutrncracker I totally agree with you that this band was sooo... underappreciated.! It most certainly does rank as one of the loveliest songs of the "unmatched 70's". This song continues to haunt me and has for the past 35 years. Thank you for sharing your appreciation!

    Love, Bridgette

  • did janet jackson have to pay them for taking the music in "lets wait a while"?

  • @mikeys12 I was thinking the same thing! lmao!

  • They sound terrific! Thanks for posting this!! Sound a beautiful song...

  • classic at its finest!

  • I can't get over how Gerry has this lovely high singing voice, and then his speaking voice is so...regular, deep. I love it....

  • timeless & lovely song, as only America can do.

  • perfect performance...the quintessential American sound........and now a days they "sample" already established hits and rework them just enough not to be sued as example Janet Jackson "wrote" Let's Wait Awhile" and had a huge hit with it...and it's just THIS song...."Daisy Jane"...Patheic

  • A true classic. Like a fine vintage wine, Gerry ages gracefully and his voice is as clear and mellow as ever.

  • Beautiful! :) You guys have made some great memories for me .Thank You!!!!

  • epik!

  • Absolutely LOVE this song! But when I watch this video, and hear this version, I really want to start singing "brocco-locco-locco-liiii". Doesn't diminish the song in any way though.

  • Great classic that will live on for decades.

How many of you guys remember when the bimbo Janet Jackson stole the introduction of Daisy Jane for her flop in the 80's?

  • @GTC1958

All "artists" can do these days is steal from the legends like America.

  • Still so good.

  • I happned to listen to Sister golden hair today. So I have listend to their songs, and found this song. Yes, I had their Album, and listend to it again and again, when I was a junior high school student. What a nice soft sound ,good song!I ' m glad to see them now. Please come to Japan someday! I want to go to your concert!

  • Great song but when did Jerry Springer become the lead vocalist!

  • one of the best groups from the 1970's, thank you so much for posting this!!!!

  • One of my favorite songs! A fabulous song from one of the greatest groups EVER!!!

  • My favorite America song!!! Thank you!!!

  • Incredible song, incredible band. I love this music.

  • oh to be back in the 70's....

  • If you were in high school when this song came out I bet you remember it. It was a sweet time to be in school. Unlike today there was really great music all over the radio on AM and FM. It always makes me smile when I hear this kind of music because I know it was my music and holds many sweet memories of long hot summers at the swimming hole, picnics, midnite rendevous and first loves.

  • Very nice. I like this song. One of the best songs of America.

  • Why won't Dan Peek get back together with Dewey and Gerry? They had great 3-part harmonies. Anyway, it hit #20 in Billboard. God bless!

  • As I listen to this song I think that Lets wait awhile by Janet Jackson was fashioned after this song...! Listen to it and the music and vocal arrangements... It's similar to Daisy Jane..

  • @stewxl

What a GREAT insight! It happens that I was humming "Let's wait awhile" this morning and about 30 minutes later, this song from my past popped into my head. Thanks for helping me make this connection. Good ear! ;-)

  • @wallyhawaii: oh yeah.. I love this song.. the melody the lyrics and the delivery.. and when I heard it it instantly popped in my head..! Jam & Lewis produced the song for Janet so either they are big fans of America or Janet is because Ventura Highway was also sampled in a later song by Janet....!

  • Wow, can't believe he still sounds the same after all these years....FANTASTIC!!!

  • Gerry Beckley (singing) wrote/published this song in 1975. It was first released on America's "Hearts" album (Warner Bros.) the same year. Hard to believe the song has been around that long. Another timeless classic from one of the best bands ever!

  • I love this song. Thank you so much for posting! I'm 29, I wasn't born when this song was written but my father always played this. Thanks

  • I agree, this is a great song. I am not sure I understand your reference to not being born when the song was released. I was not born when many songs were written, but enjoy them too. However, songs like this seem to transcend time, and many music genres.

    :-)

  • great song and post Love that cello They used it in the original recording.

  • It's a great song, my favorite to sing myself.
