Over the course of the year I've learned many many things and many of my views have drastically changed. In one of my previous comments I say that I believe everything the bible says except the part of homosexuality. What I've learned is that the bible is all 100% true. Every single word. One thing I will continue to stand by, however, is my opinion of homosexuality.
I believe God purposefully created the gays to be gay. Sodom and Gomorrah - those men were killed for their wrongful doings, not for being gay. They were killed for raping and using prostitutes. The city was indeed a very corrupt city, but it just so happened that they were gay. Had it been any other city and had the men NOT been gay, the city still would have been destroyed. I'm through listening to other's opinions. God's told me the truth, I know the truth. That's all that matters.
I cannot force you nor anyone else to agree with me. We're all allowed our own opinion. The Bible has been made for controversy. It's beautifully structured to allow us free will and believe what we believe to be true, as well as what God's told us to be true. Perhaps our truths are different, but only time and God will tell. What if one of your children was gay and someone said that to them? Would you tell them they were going to burn in hell too? I'm surprised, for a soldier who serves our country, which I too love, I'd expect a little more dignity and respect toward other people, gay or straight. 'Bible' merely means collection of books. The individual books of the Bible were completed at the time of the events. They have credibility in an of themselves. The fact that they were all sorted together later on does not affect the integrity of the individual accounts. You're using a strawman to make it seem like the Bible was just spontaneously 'made up' at a certain time when in fact the components were there for ages already.

I'm christian and believe everything the bible says...EXCEPT for gays. I have total tolerance for gays and believe they should have the same rights as anyone else. @esak92 I left this comment one year ago. I have another year of wisdom under my belt that God has oh so graciously granted me. Over the course of the year I've learned many many things and many of my views have drastically changed. In one of my previous comments I say that I believe everything the bible says except the part of homosexuality. What I've learned is that the bible is all 100% true. Every single word. One thing I will continue to stand by, however, is my opinion of homosexuality.

I believe God purposefully created the gays to be gay. Sodom and Gomorrah - those men were killed for their wrongful doings, not for being gay. They were killed for raping and using prostitutes. The city was indeed a very corrupt city, but it just so happened that they were gay. Had it been any other city and had the men NOT been gay, the city still would have been destroyed. I'm through listening to other's opinions. God's told me the truth, I know the truth. That's all that matters.
