  • My grandfather was intel for the US military in the 60's and he helped American with the bombing raids near Huey. He was captured by the Viet cong and put in jail for 7 years, he is back in Vietnam now. By the way, he is Vietnamese.

  • thank your dad for me for his courage and convictions and let him know i am so very sorry for how his country treated him when he returned....your dad is a hero, please just let him know that i thank him for his service and that there are alot of us who realize the sacrifice he made and are so very grateful to him...

  • Thanks for putting this together for your dad, it's shows your love an respect for not only your dad but for the others who were there, an those who couldn't come home again. I was there, 67, 68, 69 B Co. 2/5th in my opinion these are the best of the best America had at the time, I say that as I would never want to take anything away from the men who have served since. I watch this with tears in my eyes an memories of friends long dead, but always in my heart, "brothers born under fire" I miss u

  • My dad was a marine in the war. carried a m79 grenade lancher. he was one hell of a bamf. oooorah

  • for the 3 people who "disliked" this can go fuck your self

  • @iiMOD4u chill out! i was in the british army at this time. sneaky bombs and ambushes, stonings, petrol bombings, shootings, from people that were speaking to you minutes before. not nice. as an ex soldier i thank god that i am alive and anyone else who has been through a conflict, no matter what side they are on. dont like sneaks.

  • Thank you for sharing-my husband Ssgt.Robert Anthony was killed in Vietnam May 6,1968-our son was 8 months old at the time.Gone But Never Forgotten.

  • nice video . my dad also was there but now his health is bad , ptsd and coming home to be spit on realy makes me angry for him because i know how much he loves our country and things could of been better if people would of put them first. oh well thanks for posting the video

  • Please tell your Dad that I said thank you for his sacrifice and service to our country, and welcome home. I can't think of a more honorable thing to do than to risk your all to fight for another mans freedom. God bless.

  • You stupid, illiterate, ignorant bastard. We did not lose the war. We kicked their ass and never lost a major battle. In TET, we lost 3500 KIA compared to their 45,000. We withdrew ALL of our troops (except embassy guards) a full 2-years before the RVN lost the war to the NVA after they broke their agreement not to invade the South signed at the Paris Peace Accord. It was a gutless, cowardly act made by assholes like you! SO...FU! As a note, we had a 25 to one kill ratio...BRO VET.

  • @BandidoC I cannot cite the source but at the Paris Peace Talks there was an US colonel said to a Viet colonel that we won every battle. The Viet answered that you did but NOW IT IS IRRELAVENT. It is irrelavent! Winning in the end is the relavent factor. I still believe we needed to go, & I had to go too, but the communists needed a wakeup that they would meet resistance. We & our allies did win the cold war. So why are we carrying on criminal aggression just like everyother aggressor nation?

  • @nor888..because it never happened. The Paris Peace Talks were to reach an accord to mutually agree to withdraw our mutual forces back to our own countries. The US had completely withdrawn by 1972. It took the NVA 2 years to regain enough strength to break their non-invasion commitment and cowardly invade the Republic of Vietnam. Has US Farces been there, they would have had their asses kicked just like in 1968 TET when the score was 3500 US KIA, 45000 NVA/VC killed. Learn history!!!!

SO...FU! 2-tour Vietnam combat Vet, BRO!

  • My hats off to your dad, my 2 brother in laws and all who served in Nam. I just missed going in 1972 but am grateful to those who did. I make it a point to thank each and every Nam vet for their service in a war that wasn't very popular. Please tell you dad thanks, personally from me.

  • Great video. My great grand father was in nam and when he got back a bunch of hippies spat on him and threw trash at him.I think anybody who does that should shut up and go back to their tree hugging rallies!!!!

  • @SOHrithal great grandfather? that impressive. how old is he?

  • @SuperClintEastwood He was in his late 40s at the end of the war. He's past away now. He also fought in WWII, and Korea. He came out as a master sergeant.

  • My Dad fought for an old dictatorship that is waiting, almost sleeping, modernly they are known as the Russian Federation.

  • @kusaum he can walk in hell?!?!?

  • if people cant respect u for the love you show ur father then they dont deserve to have an opinion! great video i have family that served from WWI WWII Vietnam Korea and in present day military and they were and are all amazing people who deserve to have love and respect thanks for giving some my G-pa appreciates this video and the people involved

  • God Bless your Dad. Don't let idiots get to you.

  • my dad had just finished basic training with the army when the war ended. im greatfull he didnt get to expirience the horrors of war. if he had gone to fight i question if hed ever come back.

  • @jediluis019 its good that youre father went to basic trainning, never saw vietnam....mine never did, then i will be born or be a military brat!

  • My grandpa fought in Vietnam also. Brave soldiers like him and your dad made our country proud. All Nam vets deserve our respect.

  • we didnt really lose we fucked them up pretty bad, 59,000 US soldiers killed and over 3,000,000 gooks dead, thats not a win in my book dumbasses.

  • se me hace ridiculo en este pais es contra la ley menor de 21 comprar alcohol o cigarrillo pero a los 18 ya pueden tomar una M16 he ir a matar en nombre de la democracia

  • thumbs up for showing your respect for your dad.

  • very nice and perfect for our vets

  • you lost this war

  • @scarvasa Thats not the point of this video. We all are aware that we lost that war, this is about respecting the guys who had the balls to go over and fight the war. Castles this is an awesome video both my granddads were in Vietnam and im proud to know people like them.

  • Great tribute to your dad and to the others who served. You'll always have my respect and thank them all for the freedom my family and I now have.

  • we served for lots of reasons. mostly it was for our buddy next to us. not for politics, god or country. when we came home we only wanted to be treated like human beings not trash. we were not trash then nor are we now. those who treated/treat us as such then and now are the reason why we had to do what we did. Learn to live together as brothers or die together as fools-MLK.

  • yea my dad was in vietnam as well. australian special forces i think, he doesnt say much. lost alota mates im pretty sure

  • 1 of my favorite songs of the era. Great job! I missed Vietnam by 2 months as the draft ended. I was 1/2 mile from The Pentagon on 9/11. I went up to photograph it and couldn't bring myself to do it. I got one photo. It was chaos and I was overcome by the stench of JP fuel, burned bodies and smoke. I dream about that sometimes and wake with that smell in my nose. It was just one mad moment for me and it has profoundly effected me. 'Nam vets did it for a whole war. I'm a pussy comparatively.

  • Your dad is a hero...all those soldiers were heroes ...

  • Great vid. My dad was a marine during the Vietnam war. I went to his Mike Co. reunion in San Diego, CA last weekend. These guys deserve respect.

  • Job well done young man. You've paid your father an outstanding tribute. God Bless you & may your father forever rest in peace. I am one of many survivors of America's big mistake. We fought hard & won the battles, but lost the war. We served proud & too many paid the ultimate price. May all of our fallen comrads rest in peace."Duty,Honor,Country".

  • The Vietnam Veteran paid in blood for our easy ride! When Vietnam ended they said "never again!"-----they then rebuilt our military and made sure neglect and abuse of our troops would never happen again. No more spitting on vets returning from the war! VIETNAM VETERANS----your sacrifice made me military career an easy ride (1979-2003)

  • my dad was in the army and hes still alive and kicking he got shot in the knee in vietnam but hes good in his 60's right now never had to time to get back to anyones comments..and for the people who left stupid ass comments why watch the video you trying to get attention? come to my house i have no problem knocking your teeth out

  • @castles563 I'll help you knock there teeth out.

  • @castles563 oh and shake your fathers hand for me and tell him that im great full for everything he gave - David M.

  • @castles563

Here speaks a true Vietnam veteran about to hear

  • @castles563 was your dad a marine? my 5 uncles and my dad were marines during Vietnam, my uncle and my dad fought till the end of the war , my 4 uncles died in 1974......

  • @castles563 it's WAR man , we cant say anything about it, the US soldiers like your father had their obligation to join the war, and the Vietnamese, they fight for their freedom, it was the way they choose, even I'm Vietnamese ,but to your dad's serving, and the fighting for freedom of the Vietnamese people, all are patriots !

  • Thank you for posting this. And thank all who have honored our service in a very unpopular war. We were warriors like any other, but were traumatized by the treatment we received coming home. Pay no mind to the imposter who posted the threatening words ........ our former enemies are now, in a strange way, our brothers in arms too. We all paid a heavy price. I salute your father for his service and for raising a sensible son.

  • @castles563 What a wonderful tribute to your Dad. I'm glad he got home safely. I met some wonderful US soldiers on R & R in Australia. Very polite decent young men. If your Dad came to Australia on R&R back then, I apologize. We were pretty boring back then.

  • GREAT TRIBUTE!

i just found the picture of the soldier wearing that peace symbol necklase quite ironic.. but hey, nevermind..

    AGAIN, GREAT VID!

  • this vietnam war was a gorilla warfare war cause really us didnt know who the enemy was thats why we lost so many lives

  • excellent tribute

    just remember:

USA went to war in vietnam for RUBBER.

    RUBBER comes from RUBBER trees.

France colonized vietnam in the 1800's. by early 1900's had VAST rubber tree plantations there. Michellin(FR)Goodyear(US)Firestone(US)Cooper(US) desprately NEEDED THAT RUBBER. why? the tires on your car/truck are made of RUBBER. 58000 young americans lives were wasted over RUBBER trees/car tires

    USA NEVER fights for freedom.

USA ALWAYS fights for a commodity.

our latest war is for oil

  • stay out of this argument .

you have no mind of your own and youre not allowed to think

  • i have no mind of my own? whose to say that? u? u never met me. think b4 u write such dumb ass comments acting all big on the internet.

  • its not "acting all big" RETARD.the Vietnam war was fought over RUBBER.

do your own research....58000 americans are STILL DEAD

  • i didnt say it wasnt fought over R U B B E R! so dont fucking get ur panties in a bunch u dickless faggot. and i didnt say shit about dead americans...i was making fun of ur retarded comment about the dudes I.Q. so u do ur fucking research...or go back to school. fuck head.
