Eventually it'll get a posi. Maybe an e-locker.

@parsonshoss That rearend is in the trash. 7 5/8 may not be overkill, but they sure hold up to a beating without robbing any extra power. Plenty of fast cars running them. Now it has an 8.5 under it.

No, it needs a posi. I never bothered before cause it had the 7 5/8 rearend. I now have an 8.5, so once i decide on a gear and get the money, it'll get rebuilt, re-geared and a posi.

@c42083 on my 94 s10 i blew the rear end out then got another from the junk yard and before i put it on i took it apart and welded the pieces to gether so now its a posi lol u should try it saves alot of money

how tight was the a/c compressor to the frame rail?

I didn't install the A/C when I put in the V8. Normally the frame rail has to be notched to put in A/C using the Fbody accessory brackets.

Oh... the Alan Grove setup I used is Alt. ONLY. No power steering. They do have a couple others, not sure on fitment for an S10 though.

They come in just about any size... but price gets pretty high for custom sizes.

Like rstotlercf said. I'm running 1.5 primary to 2.5 collector hedman headers, then the 2.5 pipe Ys into a single 3in, flowmaster, and exits by the bumper.

What kind of gas mileage does that LT1 S10 get?

Tricky question. No odometer, so I had to go off mapped distances, or when I was following someone. Also, It has a 2.73 rear-end gear, so at ~70mph it was around 17/17.5mpg. It actually got better mileage ~80mph... which happens to be closer to our truck club's convoy speed. :D

Never got any city mileage... but it wasn't good.

Those are loaded questions. :D Total "work time" probably a month, though it was spread out much longer. Cost, too much, but it was worth it. $1100 motor $? rebuild on motor $1600 rebuilt tranny $600 painless wiring harness $150 Impala computer $300 headers $170 shifter $400 radiator $75 alternator bracket $? fabbed frame to fit old motor mounts $? misc hoses/lines/cables/brackets At least $5k+ once all the misc things that no one thinks of. It can be done cheaper, or cost more.

why don't you get a locker for your back axle. or what ever it's called so both tires spin. It looks kinda goofy when you're doing a burn out and there is only one black spot on the road lol :)

That is definitely in the works. I have one in the garage, hopefully it just needs new clutch packs. I've been waiting till I can build a bigger, re-geared, posi-ed, axle with disc brakes and swap it all in at once with the traction bars and possibly a lowering block.
