  • When are people going to realize it starts at home. it's the parents job to first raise their children to do what is right not the Govrenment. Ron paul-2012!

  • Dear God I love Ron Paul. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN ALL THESE YEARS?!

  • A true Republican in his views and his honesty. I don't subscribe to these views but I stand by his right to expess them. I thank him for my new understanding of the Republican platform on drugs and prostitution.

  • Hummm! Takeing the States rights position I see.

  • 0:20 that was my experience at least. Prohibition didn't work in the 20's, and it won't work now

  • the worse possible thing to do is to stop the war on drugs. The US cannot succumb to drugs. We need tougher policy on borders and merchandise coming in. We also need to get rid of corruption within the war on drugs. A country without drugs is what America can be.

  • @MGSBigBoss1964 are you serious? you are obviously very uneducated and very incredulous. the curruption you talk of in the war on drugs is the fact that there is a war on drugs. if a adult wants to consume or use it for whatever purpose, as long as it causes no harm to any one else, they should be able too. its a basic human right.

i was going to go on a rant about how cannbis should be legal but though it was abit off topic.

  • @zChezx To think that way is just being naive, it shows you are uneducated if you truly believe that an individual consuming drugs is no harm to the community around him, Look at the 60s and 70s where drugs killed nearly an entire generation of individuals. Look at how the use of it spreads. The War On Drugs is a necessity and needs more fronts on its rehabilitation programs / education programs / and Police and Military Crack downs.

  • I like how when I scrolled down to comment there were all positively checked, most all of them were also awesome too :D

The History Channel had a program about Marijuana being initially legal in the U.S. until a huge Ban Campaign was launched federally.

I like Ron Paul's stance, "Leave it to the States!"

  • I honestly believe that if Ron Paul wins the Republican nomination in 2012, he will be president. I don't think anyone in their right mind will still support Obama in 2012.

  • Paul is right, but this has been an urgent issue that should not be prolonged further. So should we wait for states to reform drug policy or encourage federal action? It all seems rather dissonant when you consider relying on government for liberation.

  • marijuana is something people are going to do no matter how many laws are in place. meth and crack and heroin all need to be stopped though. those kill a lot of people and they are nothing but poison, especially meth.

  • I love this man. A true conservative. Not some neo-con!

    GO RON PAUL

  • I wish he was as articulate and calm in the debates as he was here.

  • War on drugs is an endless war that employs US citizens to kill or lock up its own citizens out of fear. We have nothing to fear, but fear itself. Don't be afraid anymore.

    Ron Paul 2008!

  • Education and prevention stops drug use. I don't use drugs because I was educated, not because I fear incarceration. A war on drugs, with punishments for addiction, has thus far unfairly been a war on minorities.

  • Why? Drugs can bring joy and culture, people like that. Therefore they take drugs, you can't stop them so prohibiting it will just drain a lot of money. You could how ever inform the public of the more dangerous drugs that are hard to use without getting harmed or addicted. So they could make the choice not to take them. If they don't care about the harmful effects of some harmful drugs, then i don't think they care much for penalties either.

  • Its fucks like you who dont care about the bill of rights human rights or just law at all you want to force your personal agenda on others with little regard for freedom. Fuck you nazi

  • @lesagedo There we go! that's the spirit. I had to deal with this in school today. One of the most stressful days of my life. My parents found out I smoke and everything. They weren't mad at all though. They do how ever want me to get drug tested for some stuff... but I don't believe me getting drug tested with out hard evidence is even worth it. I'd rather leave the school than deal with that.

  • Ron Paul is the wisest and most prepared candidate for the presidency.

  • My son was killed because of The War On Drugs so you know how I am voting. The War On Drugs has killed thousands 117,000 since Sept. 11, 2001 360,000 shot 80% drug related. No other politician even mentions the drug problem they sweep it under the rug. All of the young people need to rebel & get rid of the establishment now.

  • I'm so sorry about your son.

Wars on anything are killing our sons and daughters.

  • The direct costs of the war on drugs (cops, prisons, etc) pale in comparison to the economic cost of all those people being in prison instead of working and making a living.

    -jcr

  • changeing the drug policy of this nation will save the people untold amounts of money lower the prision population because 85% of inmates are there for non violent related drug offences. The police have the right (in todays society) to confiscate your home cars and bank account under the fedreal drug sizerure act. Back to the begining. Freedom is an old view, but it has been denied for so long that it just seems new.

  • I don't understand how people couldn't want to vote for this guy. Not for any one specific issue. For his honesty. When was the last time somebody intelligent and HONEST and DECENT was in high office in this country? It's been a long time, for sure, and none of the other "Top Tier" candidates fit the bill, that's for sure!

  • @lastnymleft That's exactly why he won't win. People don't vote for people who speak the truth. They vote for people who tell them what they want to hear regardless of whether it's true or not.

  • @lauraleesmithagain at this stage people want to hear the truth

  • I wonder what his policy would be like for marijuana, specifically? Are the USA ready for legalization? Would his policy even consider that? I'm asking these questions as someone who is very unfamiliar with US politics, please bear that in mind =D

  • He would leave the marijuana issue up to the states. If he was president, your state could vote to legalize marijuana and the federal government wouldn't interfere. He would get rid of the DEA, along with all federal drug enforcement.

  • That would be a great idea, although I imagine the states with legalization would have a surplus of people who wanted to move there =P Thanks for your answer!

  • we are most definitely ready. after all the first time there was widespread legislation restricting marijuana in the states was in the mid 1930's that is roughly 160 years after this country was formed! the founding fathers would not have stood for this.

  • NICE JOB!! Very candid interview. If those douchebags at MSM would just let him speak like this, it would be all good and awesome
