This guy used to be the Governor of Texas. He cut down funding for schools including mine. Over 150 teachers were fired and class sizes had to be increased from 22 to 32. 32 students for one teacher in one classroom gets really insane. Budget cuts were also so bad they had to fire the security guards. Now I don't feel safe at school. There's no security, so there are school fights all of the time. To see this video gives me some relief knowing he probably ruined his campaign.
@Pokeeeveegirl Ok. In Oklahoma the Teachers get payed about 1/5 of the amount of money that most teachers get payed in Texas. And the classrooms in our school have 25+. If a teacher is gonna get payed an extra 40,000, then they shouldn't have to teach a class of 15. However. Your school must have been a little more on the poor side to fire Security Guards. That's ridiculous.

She had told me before that our family of five can't live on my dad's salary. I think there were only about 5 schools in the entire district that didn't have any teachers fired. But class sizes are still huge and at the same time parents are bitching because my mom and the other teachers don't have time for one on one lessons.

Although looking back on my comment now I should clarify that our school DOES have security guards, they aren't actually police officers like it used to be. @Xlivesforever Right some people are dicks in EVERY religion (and yes atheism can be considered a religion because not believing in a god is a system of beliefs which is what a religion is). There are dicks in every religion! My mom is one of them. Believe I know this. There are muslims who believe that if you're not a muslim, you're not worth anything and don't deserve rights. There are jews who believe that, athiests, marxists, catholics. Every religion has these dicks in them.

@Chibikan My issue IS however, Christians are not allowed to ASK for equal rights. For some reason they are not allowed to expect the same treatment that someone of another religion is demanding because if we do, we're bigots and intolerant and all kinds of crap. It's hypocrisy. We are not getting equal rights. I couldn't even wear the cross my great grandmother gave to me before she died to school while a jewish girl could wear her star in plain sight. The school told me to take it off.

@Chibikan My mom had me take my Bible to school for free reading time when I had run out of other books to read (I'm a MASSIVE reader, give me a good book and I will devour it) and my teacher took it away from me. I so much as tell someone (who doesn't believe) that I am a Christian and they automatically assume I'm gonna try and shove it down their throats. I'm not like that. I say, believe what you want, I really don't care, that's your business. If you wanna be gay, be gay. Again, your life.

I'm a strong Christian, but I do not support Rick Perry. What's sad is that if you read the Bible, it doesn't talk about judging against people who live different lifestyles (Judge not, lest you be judged). Nobody's perfect. I have friends that are homosexuals, and I don't agree with their lifestyle, but it's not my place to put in. I care about all my friends, and that's how I share the love of Christ, not by self-exaltation.

If that's the case, then why did we have a Christmas party at my son's Elemetary school last Friday. Why did we make Christmas tree's, stockings, and color cut outs of cows, sheep, and a small barn. This guy used to be the Governor of Texas. He cut down funding for schools including mine. Over 150 teachers were fired and class sizes had to be increased from 22 to 32. 32 students for one teacher in one classroom gets really insane. Budget cuts were also so bad they had to fire the security guards. Now I don't feel safe at school. There's no security, so there are school fights all of the time. To see this video gives me some relief knowing he probably ruined his campaign.

@Pokeeeveegirl Ok. In Oklahoma the Teachers get payed about 1/5 of the amount of money that most teachers get payed in Texas. And the classrooms in our school have 25+. If a teacher is gonna get payed an extra 40,000, then they shouldn't have to teach a class of 15. However. Your school must have been a little more on the poor side to fire Security Guards. That's ridiculous.

@JackBauered770 It is actually. My mom happens to be a teacher and while she didn't say much to her kids, she was terrified about losing her job. She had told me before that our family of five can't live on my dad's salary. I think there were only about 5 schools in the entire district that didn't have any teachers fired. But class sizes are still huge and at the same time parents are bitching because my mom and the other teachers don't have time for one on one lessons.

Although looking back on my comment now I should clarify that our school DOES have security guards, they aren't actually police officers like it used to be. Now they've been replaced by two volunteers in their late 70's or so... One of them even collapsed in the lunch line. I mean yeah, better than nothing but...

@Pokeeeveegirl All i'm saying is that you should be grateful about what you do have instead of complaining about how bad it is. They're fights everyday here some including weapons. Also food sometimes comes up rancid, A/C breaks and they take months to fix it even though we have 100+ degree weather. And class sizes go from 28-36+ students and most electives are gone in most schools.

@SchizoFilms Well, I think the only parents who would vote for him are the ones who are bitching to the teachers because their kid can't get one on one tutoring. I mentioned this before. It's pretty clear those parents didn't know the entire story when they heard that there was going to be a vote about taxes. Those parents were obviously the ones who jumped onto the option to pay less taxes without knowing what was going to be affected. It's pretty sad for the kids too.
