They tried to redesign Dante's character from what we know it as. This both irritates me and makes me curious. It won't feel like any of the original DMC games because the redesigned Dante's character. At least Nero felt like he belonged. This new Dante won't.

Has anyone noticed that when a game has HUGE controversy and negative reaction it ends up being awesome? Like Fallout 3, Resident Evil 4, Morrowind, and several others. They all end up being amazing. Fallout 3 had a HUGE negative reaction from the Fallout fanbase, but its the best in the series! At least till the game is out guys.

Did anybody notice that this game was simply called DMC...and not Devil May Cry 5...that is because its obviously not a sequel...this looks like a game set in an alternate world, like all of the LoZ games, its a different time, a different world, but the main character kinda looks the same, and has the same name...dont throw a tantrum just because there making a new game in the series that isnt a sequel...

Be be honest, Ninja Theory knows how to handle storylines (Enslaved and Heavenly Sword, anyone!?) So I know this DMC will have a good storyline with likeable characters. And Storyline is something the first 4 DMC titles lacked. Before you all start hating me, I have no issue with the storylines in the first 4 games, its the storytelling. Any newbie to the DMC games will be lost.I think the series needed a reboot. No probs with new Dante. As long as the Dante has the style, looks don't matter

I'll be real upset if this story isnt used. sure its far from the original, but lets be honest. the smug attitude from dante was getting stale. like really old. its refreshing to see a more serious and ruthless dante. the smoking part pushes that even more. i think its a win

I just dont like how serious dante seems in this.
he's supposed to be a wise cracking smart ass who kills demons for fun and because he's super good deep down.
from what i read before the story is he's half angel half demon now. which i have a problem with, in dmc4 he implied it was his human side that made him strong. it's what kind of attached him to humans. made him...i wanna say "real" lol. if he's suddenly half angel...well i think tha'ts a letdown

To all of the damn people who are criticizing the game, I believe NT changed the story after getting the negative comments. I mean, all the new trailers for DMC don't say "What is your name?" or anything similar, instead its showing a brand new concept. And honestly, I don't even think the "Limbo" idea was made during the time of this trailer. And another thing, compare these "demons" in this trailer to the new ones. That, is a statement from a real DMC fan. Quit complaining until DMC is out!

Lets face it. DMC is a roller coaster. two were great and two sank. so really getting a new start shouldnt be that huge problem. besides i'm waiting for the day a Hiphop flavored dante gets made...seeing the fanboys kill themselves over it would be so sweet. or maybe it'll create a new fantard base. either way sane people will laugh.
