I'm looking to go to school for drum set performance. how would UNT compare to schools like Indiana University (Jacob's school of music) or Berklee in this area. Not only the education, but the connections are extremely important to me. I'm hoping to play with some big names when im older. Any advice anyone?

I remember hearing various practice sessions in the One O'Clock lounge outside of the Syndicate at UNT. It was really nice to hear. But I don't recall it ever being so many students.
You fans may want to check the net for the excellent stereo recording of this tune by Maynard (the original big band that played this) at the 1959 Newport Jazz Festival. This lab band performance is proof that the piece still holds up 50 years later.
I really liked your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed i use a site called Tubeviews . Net It has really done wonders for me, Keep in touch

UNT - you'll get solid knowledge, Berklee - connections. I would go for knowledge, connections really depend on you
