Yes! It was nice to see them how they fight against each other and how they respect them at all the time, too!
Today is not so much respect -> Hamilton vs Massa!
It's a bit sad, that everyone said, that Schumacher should be watching F1 on TV. It would be nice, if Mika had started a comeback 3 years after he finished his career. It would be interesting how good he is at this time.
when I was 6, some 12 yrs ago, I remember having one of the first F1 games on PC... Schumacher drove for Benneton, so it the season was probably '94 or something... Anyway, I did not understand the qualifying rules and when I saw "0/12 laps completed", I figured the first one who completes 12 laps wins... I remember starting that race last :D
I was there on this day and will never forget how beutiful the McLaren sounded at full song down the straight. I mean, they all sounded good but the McLaren had the loudest, most crisp V-10 scream ever. Hail the F1 V-10!
After the retirement of Hakkinen in 2001 I started to lose my interest in the sport, and now I rarely watch F1 races. I only heard that S. Vettel won the championship.
@Rheinmetall1 You were never a true F1 fan, then. You've missed a lot of great races and great seasons. Now there is a deep pool of drivers in F1, and next year 6 World Champs on the grid. But if that doesn't appeal to you, then to each his own.
@UltimateWheelman Indeed, I dont think either that I am a true fan of the sport after all, at least with the form that has taken the last years. It is something that doesn't please me to watch anymore.
Sadly, you are wrong. This footage is taken from the Digital feed run by FOM (commonly known as Bernie tv)
While I agree with you that it's irritating having the McLaren cut off & too often showing garage reactions, it sadly has nothing to do with the Americans at all. The world feed at the time (different graphics, terrible camera angles & shots from miles away was run at each race by the host broadcaster & director, in this instance the Americans)
@TheSCF1908 The funny thing is that it didn't have the best chassis or the most powerful engine. It was the just the most well-rounded, and it was enough for Schumi. :D
man the one thing I hate about this coverage in the US is they try to show the reactions of the opponents in the pits. In this particular video the McLaren is cut off many times by a shot of Schumacher in the pits. I understand the logic but this shows how little US television knows about Formula One. When they are in their strapped in with a helmet on.... they can hardly move much less show any facial expression. I hate it when the McLaren gets cut off
My god...That mercedes engine made my ears jizz and die at the same time...

@lariatfx
Yeah, V10s in general were far better than this 2.8 V8 malarkey but Merc' V10s were the sweetest.

The Ferraris that year looked more composed than anything else on the grid.

Ferrari car in 2001 was one of the best cars in F1-history in my opinion.
